  1. Sou_Lady (where r u hiding these days?)... U have a point about setting unreasonable standards. However, I don't think one should lower their requirements solely for the sake of finding a partner quickly. Ppl (or at least I) have expectations for a reason. It's possible to overlook a few things i.e. compromise....but that's not to say u should give up your dreams easily. If u don't aim for what u want/need from a partner and u only settle for what u can get, ur likely to become very unhappy and very bored very quickly.
  2. Sorry guys...I just had to bring up this thread again. Any more advice from all the new additions?

When's ur B-day?

  6. Alxamdullilaah, Mansha Allah. I'm glad those people have found Islam to guide and heal them. Thanx Lakkad. I needed to read that.
  7. SOL President: LoL...I don't think any girl in her right mind should meet u. Ur just too obsessed wit sex my dear. LUUL: Sure, I would luv to meet u too sis. And since Canbaro's world is London (?), it won't be so hard to link-up. Lakkad: Ur such a sweetie...MAC MAC back to u malab. Kool_Kat & MMA: U lot are expert flatterers, aren't u? Now , how much do I owe u 4 saying that? Ameenah: Lovelios! I was hoping u would say that.
  8. My great-grandmother (she's still alive, alxamullilaah) was always called "boodo" on account of her temper and fighting skills...a force to be reckoned with. And she still has everyone whipped...including me! However, the funniest nickname I've heard is "ilka maqas". I gotta admit Somalidu are ultra cruel with the nicknames they dish out. MMA.... Thanx for sparing us that other nickname. I suspect I know which one u mean.
  9. LoL! I see the legend is on the warpath. There there now Zu. I don't kno what delayed the UPS man (maybe the donkey he's been forced to ride to get to the godforsaken mountains u mentioned) but I'm sure he's on his way. Don't get in a huff, u'll get ur jumpers soon enough.
  10. Lakkad... Yes I'm against capitalism but I still hav to look stylish OK? So get off my back waryaa! Seriously tho, money comes and goes. U can't really hold on to it that much. Even if I don't shop during the month, it all goes anyways....and don't even ask me how! I'm absolutely incapable of holding on to cash and I don't kno the meaning of the word 'saving'. So best thing I can do is not to spend money I don't hav and I think I succeed...most times. Now, where is that double-blasted credit card?.....
  11. Kool_Kat.... Why do u want to meet boys only? What about us poor girls? *wipes a tear away* "sniff" MMA... Cool. Although I don't live in ur square, I wouldn't mind playing 'banooni' wit u. Who would I like to meet? Loads of ppl actually. I hav already had the pleasure of meeting Ameenah, Muna and Athena and it was really nice. They are absolutely gorgeous gals....and much more fun in real life. I think I would like to meet Lakkad next. And of course LadyFatima if she deigns to get her a$$ to London this Chrismas, insha'alaah. Also Rock's Chick....i'm curious to see if her Gina shoes are my size or not.
  12. JAMAAL... U delicious, scrumptious, little darling...THANK U. "Wuu idaadaheeya" n "nafta" were the only Somali tones I had. Now I can be a bit more creative. And the best part is singing with it whenever the phone rings!
  13. LoL @ the president. As for the Q, I don't think I would mind too much....as long as we got along in all other aspects.
  14. Zu.... Ur jumpers are on the way right now...but pray tell, which mountains are u meditating on? The UPS man wants to kno... Hooyo... Understood. Will go ASAP!
  15. Muna...LoL....broken ur vow of silence, hav u? This must be the first post I've seen u write since I joined... Hooyo n Ameenah... Shopping a problem? Are u kidding? See u in Oxford Circus this WKend.... I haven't checked out the autumn collections in Mango and Zara yet, so I need u guys there to pinch me if I start to look like I'm going to expire out of delight!
  16. Mujahid Don't worry, I'll be there, insha'allah. I was there for all the others. Which reminds me.... There's an Islamic conference on Sunday 15th September 2002 (insha'allah) @ the London Arena, Docklands. This is what the official leaflet says: __________________________________________________ AN INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE BY HIZB UT-TAHRIR, BRITAIN. This conference, with distinguished speakers from across the world, will delineate a clear, distinct and definitive path for Muslims in the West to follow. 17. I understand where some of u are coming from. London is an overwhelming place and an acquired taste. If u come for a short holiday, u probably won't like it....but if u spend a bit of time getting to know the city...the real city that is and not only Somali areas and marfishyo...I'm sure u'll fall in love with it. I've got to admit, I found it difficult to adjust to London myself when I got here....actually it took a few years 4 me to stop being disgusted with every aspect of it, but I utterly adore it now. I can't think of anywhere else I would like to live outside of Somalia. It's quite a charming city really but I freely admit I'm biased. Maybe the Tourism Board should pay me for advertising it so enthusiastically. Jamaal "West is the best and better than the rest"?! LoL...I'm going to have to disagree with u on that one my dear. And ur right....I spent three hours in Southall and two of those were spent in traffic. Enough said! Athena U already hav my invitation luv. And I will only ask for ur real impression of the Capital after ur three years are up, insha'allah. Do enjoy urself. MMA LoL....no comment mate! Much luv and a chicken Tikka Masala to the rest of my proud Londonites.
  18. My fave song has got to be: "Uur kaa kutabaya". I'm looking for a copy of the original which was a duet, although I don't know who fanaaniintu ay ahaayeen. Nuune, I luv that song too, plus "Yaa kuu warama". Actually I luv all saado cali songs. My mum and dad have a huge collection of songs, so I have a new favourite song every week. This week it's Axmed Gacayte (Illahay ha u naxariisto). "Ilaah baa deeq baxshee, duliga caashaqa ka daa" & "Inaan weli kujecelahay, waydii dadkaba qaar"
  19. LoL Jamaal....I can't believe I didn't see what u wrote b4! Southall?? Please! That's one place I've no desire in visiting again! I went there shopping for Indian materials (garbasaro) for a wedding recently (apparently, they're cheaper there)...and my God! what a nightmare. From now on I'm sticking to Tooting Bec...the shops are more expensive, but u get space to breathe! Laa ilaaha ilalaah... And what are u talking about garage for? U know South London is the home of Garage, i.e. the home of So Solid Crew and loads of other acts. LoL...u know am messing wit ya, don't u? PS: May I ask where Kamila is from? A westerner is she?
  20. XawoTako, ur quite right. -------- Establishing a career and acquiring materialistic comforts has been my aim 4 as long as I remember. An interesting job, a beautiful house, and a Mitsubishi Jeep have always been my target. I only envisioned having a family after I've achieved all my objectives. But I think I value having a family more now. I think maybe it would be better to have ur babies while ur still young....especially if u have the support of ur husband. Hmmm, I don't know....it's a hard choice. Might have to get back to u on that.

  22. ....Windows. Who do think would win in hand-combat..... Muhammad Ali (the world's greatest) or Bruce Lee (the fists of fury)? Lets assume they are both as fit as a fiddle and at the prime of their lives.
  23. ....served hot. I'm likely to go into an awful rage right there and then. Saytuun or xab xab?
