Mashaa'Allah that particular part of your entire post got to me. Truer words have never been spoken, barakallaahu feekum akhi. And ameen to your Ducaa. Inshaa'Allah you should keep the Ummah in your Ducaa's as well (as should the rest of us). I look forward to more of your posts here inshaa'Allah, you're a very wise brother masha'Allah. Salaam.
  2. Salaam, I just stayed home. I had plans but you know Somalis; plans and Somalis are polar opposites. Anyway, I ended up spending the day all to myself. It was nice alhamdulilah. No buuq at home for once.
  3. Looool Kool Kat qosol gariir! Hey, isn't GW born in Texas though?
  4. I don't particularly like Somali food, for afuur I was always the one left out because I never ate any of the canjeelo. I don't have breakfast but for qado I have baasto ama bariis just depends what day it is of course. Finally, for casho I have cereal, casariyo, or kaluun. Most of the time I'm asleep though so I don't really have casho either.
  5. Eid fell on a Friday, couldn't be more happier.

  9. Should women be blamed for their cunning manipulation skills, or should men be blamed for falling for it? In all honesty, I have never in my years of existence used crying as a means for manipulation. We're not all as evil as you think Mr.Skipper.
  10. I don't understand, her husband is allowed to see her cawrah kulaha he's not allowed to see my face.
  11. ^^I never called you a munafiiqah sis, perhaps you should read more carefully. Whether or not I am a mumin is up to Allah Azza Wa Jaal, let's not pronounce takfiir. Sis, it seems that we have to think ill of the brother. How do we know he was bribed? How do we know that he's not purely innocent? We shouldn't judge him using a precedent from other occurences in Somalia.
  12. She's basically giving him the green light to sleep with another woman, doqontu.

  14. Salaam, ukhti Aaliyah I agree with your point about her parents forcing her into a marriage that she doesn't want to be in but what I don't agree with is your hypocrisy. Unfortunately this place is rampant with pseudo-feminists. You're fully telling us not to judge the girl yet you made a judgement yourself about the husband she is forced to marry. At least what we were saying were based on facts, she was leading an un-Islamic lifestyle. We don't know about the poor man, and until proven guilty I will not hurl any insults at him. As for the girl, she is an embarassment to me as gabar oo Musliin ah and as a Soomaali. How do we know for sure that he's happy with it? What I hate the most is muunafiiqnimo. So please, don't try and tell me not to do one thing when you're practically doing the same. Wasalaam!

Yeah, I think he came over to Khalid Mosque or the IMO once to give lectures. On the flyers it said, ''friend of Tupac'' probably to get them littluns who look up to 'em to get interested and attend. Anyway this is what Eve said: If she hasn’t been mentioned before, singer Eve. According to an excerpt from the book Muslim Networks from Hajj to Hip Hop: Eve, who opened up the liner notes on her album Eve of Destruction with “All Praise is due to Allah,” speaks about her relationship with Islam: “It’s not strong like it should be. I’m striving. When I get to the point where I’m stable I definitely want to cover and got to the masjid. But now it’s hard. It is really hard. But it definitely has a grip on me. I pray to Allah every night, every morning, all during the day, know what I'm saying? If it wasn’t for Him I wouldn’t be blessed” (interview by the author, quoted in part in Spady, Lee, and Alim 1999).

  17. I don't particularly like listening to people talking about the situation in Somalia because naturally, as a Somali, they veer off and start laying on the blame on (a) certain clan(s). After work though, I might check it out. Let's just hope he gets his point across better than that Saciido Cusmaan girl.
  18. The way them ladies put on the hijab is ugly. Wallahi that's always bugged me; feels good to finally let it out.
  19. Yo for real when I looked at that it made me a little sick inside. Too much food! Inshaa'Allah it goes to the poor too though.
  20. ^^ Salaam, are you serious ukhti? C'mon, as bad as it sounds Islamic schools are not up to standard. The sad truth is that those who finish their secondary education at an Islamic school will not get accepted into post-secondary schools (or education) because it ISN'T up to standards. In my day, gabdho used to stay an extra year or however long it took for them to have the proper prerequisites to get into post-secondary schooling. Ruunti Islamic school ma ka roon public school.

  22. Layzie, what happened to ''innocent until proven guilty''? I don't know about the man that she was thrown with but what I do know is that this young Somali girl was participating in xaraam! Therefore, I do not feel sorry for her nor do I have respect for her! Everything happens for a reason. She is a Canadian citizen, so the authorities will probably bring her back in no time and you'll be able to rest easily.
