  1. It is political motivated and Somali people in Minnesota are united and against the plot against the legend Hopefully, you'll be able to cry yourself to sleep, once Awoowe "Legend" starts his jail career. Ex-cops and pedophiles have it the worst in prison. He'll be given a royal welcome.
  2. Another classic. Don't be suprised if this guy becomes the next Dave Barry. Man Flees From Maghrib Written by: Hamzah Moin In what was arguably the mosque’s most controversial move, newly reverted Muhammad Smith walked out of Maghrib prayer last Sunday. “I’ve never been so shocked in my entire life,†said one anonymous mosque patron, “it was absolutely disgusting and despicable.†This would have been a normal situation for anyone however Smith was actually the Imam for the Maghrib prayer which made it very difficult for the other participants of that congregation. “We wanted to initiate the new convert into our community somehow,†said Abu Bakr Faruqui, a 42 year-old Maghrib attendee, “so we decided to push him up so he can get the feeling of leading us in prayer… you know being a convert and all. Throw him right into the deep end so to speak.†Smith says he was flattered to be pushed up but pleaded with the other uncles to simply follow one of them out of humility. The uncles didn’t budge and threw the meagre revert to the front. The attendees later found out that Smith refused to lead not out of humility, but because simply nobody had taught him how to pray yet. “It was very weird,†said another anonymous mosque attendee, “when he was ‘leading’ us he just sort of hummed and started shouting jibberish Arabic. We tried correcting him but he started humming louder.†Smith hummed his way throughout the first rakaat and when it was time for ruku he went straight into the sujood. The followers of the congregation tried their hardest in correcting him but when Smith refused to acknowledge their corrections, they all succumbed into the sujood as well. They were stuck in this position for 20 minutes when they realized that Smith had quietly snuck out of the prayer sometime before. “After fifteen minutes I started thinking that Muhammad Smith had died in the sujood but I was too afraid to look up†said Faruqui, who later peeked up and noticed the Imam was gone. Normally in these circumstances someone else resumes the prayer but everyone else was too confused to do anything and remained in the sujood position for an extra 20 minutes. Another mosque attendee called it the worst prayer on earth. “It was so bad I had to make up this prayer… twice.†Masjid president Abdul Kareem Zubairi is glad this incident came sooner rather than later. “He was scheduled to be the khateeb this week too.†Muhammad Smith has been reported missing since the incident. Source Mohamed Howell Al-Amreeki aka Ninka Cadaan, You ever been put on the spot like that ?
  3. Inspired thread, ya jamilah.... With much difficulty I make myself say “Allah please forgive their sinsâ€, I pause and just cannot bring myself to say Amen. Just thinking of the atrocities committed by other Muslims makes me nauseous. Then I question my inability to say Amen, is it a flaw in my character? Why is it so hard for me to forgive and yet I expect others and Allah to forgive me? For starters, you haven't thrown your brethen in prison, and left them to rot. You haven't pimped your country, your peoples, and the remenants of your dignity. You haven't sold out your beliefs for a quick dolla/riyal/shilling. I say: May Allah hold them accountable. And may He forgive us(those of us who don't commit atrocities) for our shortcomings, our failures, and our sins. We're just too human.
  4. So, will the recalcitrant girl be jailed, fined or beaten? She'll be strongly advised and the State will write a stern letter of protest to her Imam. How's that for an speculative opinion, Homer ? The fact of the matter is, there's no Sharia-run country today(don't even say Saudi, Why ? different topic for a different day). You pluck a hypothetical situation out of thin air and expect a serious answer. I don't have a problem with any muslim girl who wants to wear Hijab out of her own will. It is her God given right. It is the forceful imposition of universal dress code for one sex who, for eminently self-evidence reasons obvious to all, don't all share a unison view on proper Islamic apparel. THERE IS NO UNIVERSAL DRESS CODE FOR THE HIJAB. HIJAB HAS A SET OF PARAMETERS. ALL VARIATIONS OF DESIGN, COLOR, WHAT-HAVE-YOU ARE ALLOWED WITHIN THOSE DEFINED PARAMETERS. IT IS AN REQUIREMENT FOR WOMEN OF ISLAMIC FAITH. NO ONE ELSE IS OBLIGED TO WEAR IT. ^ I hope the Caps helps you out there. Don't wanna hear that "forceful imposition of universal dress code" line again. Now, when an Islamic State comes into existence, the scholars(Not SOL'ers) will decide on how best to deal with those that break any laws of that State. Any answer you get till then has no weight, and as such, your question is about as useful as "What's the color of the number 8" ?
  5. "Hi, I am a boy. I am against wearing clothes. My parents have made me wear clothes as long as I can remember. They think by wearing clothes, I will be 'virtuous' and not fall into 'vice'. Silly old farts. We can be Muslim and not wear any clothes, after all, people used to make Tawaaf around the Ka'ba in the nude(historical fact). Clothes really aren't a priority because it's what's inside that counts. Some of the best Muslims in the world are Nudists. On second thought, that last line sounds absurd, so strike that off the record. My point being: Clothes are an archiac throwback to the days when cavemen first wore animal hide. We Muslims can do better." ^^ That's what you sound like in your lil' anti-Hijab rant, Kitty-Kat.
  6. ^^ Brothaman comes knocking on SOL's door looking for the other half of his deen and you chase him away(in a polite way nonetheless) ? Of course this isn't a matrimonial site, but word on the grapevine has it that numerous marriages have blossomed from this here website. So why, I ask you, kill the hope of an Akhi who likes to "marry with Somalian girl" ?
  7. Ahura, I'll try this one more time. LoL...it's only a bit of cloth. No one's born wearing it and no one will be buried in it. Making fun of it isn't a great thing, but it's not exactly sacrilegious either. Quote Analysis: #1:"No one's born wearing it" = True. #2:"and no one will be buried in it." = True #3:"Making fun of it isn't a great thing" = True #4:"but it's not exactly sacrilegious either" = False 3 outa 4. That's a C+. Not bad. Not banging any drums here. Just pointing out the obvious. Making fun of Islamic rituals = very very very very naughty. and so totally uncool.
  8. Infact, whenever I see one passing me by… I’ve the urge to take out a shimbire-laaye and shoot them down! Since we're all in Hijab-appreciation mode t'night, how do you wear yours ? LoL...it's only a bit of cloth. No one's born wearing it and no one will be buried in it. Making fun of it isn't a great thing, but it's not exactly sacrilegious either Uh, actually it is. Sacrilegious. Yup. Who woulda thunk it, right ? It's all laid out in this here classic thread where Bashir Goat was yearning for the good old days, back when see-through dirac's(easy now, fellas) and "hoyo-iga-seeb" pants were the norm.(Castro can elaborate here....). Bottom line: having 'innocent' fun at the expense of Islamic rituals(stoning, prayer, hijab) is not cool. Let's save our witty lines for other more deserving targets.
  9. ^^ Waraa Tuujis-ka, filinkaas ay ba cunay.. ma hada waxaa noo keentay neo-gumaysi.. 2,000 post aa see maraysaa, waxba meesha kuma haysid.. aa kala boodno..marax waaxid aad oo qabtid mukulaal camo koos koos oo caano ka daragtay... (two can spit that lingo) That said, SOL's Nomad of the Year award goes to none other than E-Nuri Enterprises, for calm and grace under fire(Hell hath no fury like an Amazonian attack), for revising it's views and providing a retraction, for silencing the New Age atheists and laying down a challenge that went unanswered, AIQ(Atheist in Question) tucked tail and took a convienent vacation, and above all for continuing the inspiring E-Nuri articles. On behalf of all SOL Members: We Salute You.
  10. Feedback, people, feedback. How'd it go ? Did Tariq Suwaidan completely own the place like last year. Was Main man Amr Khalid there ? What was Malcolm X's granddaughter talkin about. Don't be selfish, share the Kodak moments !
  11. It must also be sadly noted that Sayful-Deen Qutz, the Islamic hero of the hour, was assasinated by none other than his childhood friend and right-hand man Beebers shortly after the end of Ain Jaalot. Greed, ruthlessness, and power-hunger were on full display, even after the famous uniting cry of "Waaaaa Islaaamaaaaaaaaah". What gives ?
  12. ^^ Beautiful and inspiring ayaat, wallahi. I'm gettting at least 48 hours worth of 'high' from it. Allahu Akbar.
  13. Originally posted by xiinfaniin: ^^Perhaps you should read, good Kashafa , Ibnu Taymiya’s nullifiers of the nullifiers of Islamic creed (or some thing to that effect). Indict this man’s work, if you will, but don’t pierce his faith. As far as I know a person remains within the house of Islam as long he publicly pray and does nothing contrary to the pillars of his faith. I wasn't questioning or judging his faith, Akh; just commenting on the article(testimonial of some sort ?) he had posted on his website. Of course if one seeks salvation through Christ(as the article alleges), I hope you'll agree with me that no matter how long one bows his head in Salah, it won't make him a Muslim. It'd be nice if Togane could clarify his position on the Memonite Church thing. Youthful fling and keepin in touch for old time's sake ?? or (horror music) something more sinister.....stay tuned Regardless, his faith has no bearing on his poetic skills(or lackthereof). Some of the richest Arabic poetry was produced in the pre-Islamic era. Togane is especially good at the Hija'a format, 'dissing' an entire group of people in a creative way for whatever reason. So what if he's blatantly tribalistic in his approach, he's still a funny read. No doubt he'd tailor his words if it were a academic setting or a peace conference, but in the wild wild web, Let Ol' Whitebeard rail on !!
  14. ^^ Good anti-dote to the jingoistic crap we hear all day here. Very Refreshing..Source ??
  15. A few choice words : ....Togane is a rare breed of believer, an amalgam of many roots and influences. Calling himself a Mennonite Muslim - or, more broadly, a Somali Muslim Mennonite Sufi - Togane fords the social and spiritual gaps between the West and his fellow Somali immigrants.... Togane moved to Montreal in 1973, where he is a member of Montreal Mennonite Fellowship ... And though he remains in many ways a Muslim at heart, he embraces the teachings of salvation and freedom from legalism that Christ personified... I don't know whether that article accurately captures Togane's belief system and whether he still holds those views, but since it's on his personal website, I'll say this: Awoowe, you don't play mix-and-match with Islam. Somali Muslim Mennonite Sufi ?? I know the devil's in semantics, but whussup with the embracing of the teachings of salvation ? No offense, but how would it look if I had membership at the local Hindu temple and hit the Friday prayers too ? Somali Hindu Salafi Muslim ?. C'moon, Awoowe. 5 daily prayers does not a Muslim make if you're really prayin along with Kanye in "Jesus Walks"(disclaimer: some us are in it for the beats). Other than that, Togane is a beast(noun, extremely competent) with words. Check out this string of insults: each & every Somali clan contributed their fat fair share of clowns & clones & coons & crows & cronies & cowards & collaborators & quislings & lickspittles & cringers & tools & fools & flatterers & timeservers & toadies to dance with the dictator his dance macabre & mollycoddle his **** MOD, the Somali Afwayne Frankenstein. End game. Pick up yo' face. P.S. Mucho Respekto for givin' up the bottle. 23 years of conquering an addiction. Rageedi

    Dilemma

^^ Sorry cuz, it doesn't work that way. Even hypothetically speaking. See, thing is, we by nature happen to be extremely possesive. In a hypothetical dog-eat-dog world, we would collect, plunder, and steal whatever we could get our hands on. The man that amasses the most 'wealth'(that includes you guys) becomes king. In your scenario, an alpha male would rise up, slaughter the other 3 pretenders, and take you as his wifey. "If only " would end in blood(theirs) and tears(yours). 4 wives + 1 husband = not wise, but doable, provided you got what it takes. 4 husbands + 1 wife = not even remotely feasible. against human nature. there would be an all-out, no-holds-barred war* everytime a woman decided to exercise her 'right'. *Unless they're from Tibet , where testosterone levels must be hitting rock bottom.
  17. 1. Round-the-clock-per-minute. It varies by location, but it's pretty much non-stop. 2. Yes, but it's a irelevant Q. If male, will look. Checkin out the female form is hardwired in our psyche. 3. The face. The buck stops there. 4. Depends. lotsa factors. 5. Yup, mostly later on tho. 6. A bottomless pit, or heaven on earth. Depends on how you approach it. 7. I thought smiling was an act of charity. like this right here: . What's the alternative ? Scowl ? Game Face ? The questions indicate that E-Nuri(as a company) is well-versed in the issue of 'Wandering-Eye'. Purely theoretical ?

    Its a Girl!

Rudy's point has been conviently side-stepped: It's grown women who butcher little girls with FGM. Blame male chauvinist pigs all you want, but they don't wield that rusty blunt unsanitized piece of metal or glass. Rail against this brutal institution, honesty dictates that you also rail against it main practioners: Eve's daughters. Your kind. PS:X, Whenever I READ E-NUR THIS AND THAT, I PICTURE THIS IMAGE OF A DUDE SELLING BROCHURES DOOR-TO-DOOR(NO JOKE Ha Ha. Too funny. When I think about the handle LayzieGirl, I picture a tub of lard gaining mass by the minute. Guess it's the 'laziness' part. (NO JOKE). Ha Ha. We need love up in here. Ha Ha. Seriously tho, Enough playa-hateration. That's the undercurrent that seems to be fueling this long buried topic. I can't think of any other rational reason. All those JZK's and "beautiful article!!!" must be burning some green with envy and hence the 'gotcha!' attitude. If E-Nuri Enterprises is revered a little bit too much for some's liking, it's for one thing: respect for his online da'wah work and his amazing transformative articles. A fact that only the Prince(ess) of haters would deny. Criticize and debate, but always appreciate.

Nur, You being our 'online saviour'(forced labelling is the latest fashion accessory), please send a tongue-in-cheek apology together with a pound of your flesh to appease Dracula's Feminists. In a just world, Catholic priests convicted of child abuse would be speedily marched to the gas chamber. Law-breakers(petty crime, robbery, fraud etc) you can rehabilitate, Animals(child molestors, ethnic cleansers etc) tho, you gotta exterminate for society's sake. How does one rehabilitate a pitbull with rabies ? Likewise, how does one lock up a repeat offender, say a rapist, and after 10 odd years declare him cured and release back to the streets. Where he promptly savages another tax-payer who was paying for his 3 square meals in prison. The irony. The never ending cycle of crime due to lax unenforced laws. Capital Punishment can only be effective as a deterrent if, and only if, applied liberally and carried out ASAP.
