  1. Nur may be most people here can't read Somali or some of them they read and don’t leave any comments as I do some times. I personally did not see this thread before. You see we are human beings, we have energy for the nonsensical things but when it comes to things that will help us for our Diin we find them boring. You don't have to go far to see this just glance on politics section every litle topic about Somaliland this, Puntland that blah blah have huge audience and spectators who spend their energy and time on day out, day in. But Inshallah don’t despair on us, continue the good work one day we may appreciate your efforts. Thanks
  2. Heey Mujaahid, is this one year happy anniversary celebration or is it end of your days in SOL...whatever it means i am sure your time in SOL was not in vain and so many nomads including myself have benefited from your good advice and your straight talk.
  3. Maasha Allah, There are a lot of useful naseexas going on in this thread, Specially the words of brother Muraaad. Remembering death is very essential part of our Ebaada because it reminds us that we are not gona last in this life, and any time meaning any time and seconds the angel of Death can take our soul. If we really believe in that more than we say it in our tongue we would have given more attention to our sins and undesirable action we do in our day-to-day life. Who would have thought the brother we all known and loved could die that easily after going about his daily routine and retiring for quite night sleep. He was healthy and energetic as we are and I ask my self why him and not you!!!!!! And the answer I come up with is that mine was not yet and my turn is about to come anytime without any notice as it came to my brother. Now we have to ask ourselves what have we prepared for death if it can come to us any time any where? Quite often we go about our lives thinking this is not gona happen to us!!! But who guarantees us that it will not happen to us. Imagine if we were told that we gona die tomorrow what would we have done with the little time left for us? I would think if we really believe in Allah and the day of Judgement, we would have made ourselves busy praying to allah until it happens. So why are we gambling with our live is what I don't know Allah knows best Wassalamu Alaikum
  4. Asalamu Alaikum, what is happen to this topic? P.S Batuulo is Matkey right? if he is then it is boys turn.........let us know thanks

  6. As no one is attemting to ask a question and Kamila is no where to be seen to approve my answer, i will assume that I am correct and I have this question for the sisters: There is Sahabiyah who urgued with the prphet Mohamed (S.A.W) about Hukmul Idhaar (tradional divorce where the man says to his wife '' you are to me like my mum'' Kind of divorce in the jaahilyah. To put long story in short she was complaining about her husband who said to her that she was to him like his mum. At the time there were no Wahyi revealed to the prophet (S.W) about the matter and he waited a hukm to be revealed upon him so as he can give her conclusive answer and the Wahyi could not come sooner for the Sahabbiyah and she complained to Allah Subxaaanah. A whole verses in the begining of long sura which has been named after the conversation between her and the prophet (S.W) has been revealed by Allah to the prophet (S.W.S). My question? Who was this Sahabiyah? and which sura was has been revealed about her matter? I need the name of the Sura. Hint: She lived up to the time of Khalipha Omar Bin Khataab and one day she saw him walking on the street with some people going for mission and she stopped him and gave him long Nassiha among them '' Fear Allah for your citizens'' and later the people complained to him you listening to this old women while you have important job to do and he said do you know this women '' Allah heard her from his Arsh and revealed her verses so who am I not to listen her. Long question i know but I intend it to be educational as I really like the sprit of this Sahabiyah (R.A) W/salaam
  7. Asalamu Alaikum, Latefah sis, as most of the brothers and sisters said to you before, you should only care about his deen and iiman and Khuluq. If you contend that dont care about his colour, his past sins as Allah forgives those who repent to him. And by the way to say that most of the converts were some time criminals and thugs are far from the truth. We have all sorts of people, from journalist to politicians accepting Islam as their way of life and to generalize them is bit unfair. I have seen some white converts married to somali sistas and seem that it is working for them, but smetimes it can go wrong as any other case marrying somali and you just can not take one case and say it is always horrible. All in all, i advise you to judge him on his merits, and to talk to him more and get to know him more and dont get things rushed. W/ salaam
  8. Inaa lilaahi wa inaa ileehi raajicuun, May Allah have mercy on her and forgive her sins.

  11. Assalau alaikumn, Dhamaan akhyaarta halka isku timid. Although I didn't particapate the Quiz in earlier stages, I Would like to take this bare opportunity and ask this question to the sisters ( easy one, I hope): Which is sura in the Quran has been named as ACDAMUL QURAN WASABCIL MINAL MATHAANII (The graetest Kuran and the seven repetitions) by a verse in the quran? I hope my question is clear if not let me know

  14. I found this article and thought I could share it with you. I hope you will find it useful and if not now may be you will find it useful some other time . HOW TO MAKE YOUR WIFE HAPPY 1- Beautiful Reception After returning from work, school, travel, or whatever has separated you: * Begin with a good greeting. * Start with Assalamau Aleykum and a smile. Salam is a sunnah and du'aa for her as well. * Shake her hand and leave bad news for later!. 2- Sweet speech and Enchanting Invitations * Choose words that are positive and avoid negative ones. * Give her your attention when you speak of she speaks. * Speak with clarity and repeat words if necessary until she understands. * Call her with the nice names that she likes, e.g. my sweet-heart, honey, saaliha, etc. 3- Friendliness and Recreation * Spend time talking together. * Spread to her goods news. * Remember your good memories together. 4- Games and Distractions * Joking around & having a sense of humor. * Playing and competing with each other in sports or whatever. * Taking her to watch permissible (halal) types of entertainment. * Avoiding prohibited (haram) things in your choices of entertainment. 5- Assistance in the Household * Doing what you as an individual can / like to do that helps out, especially if she is sick or tired. * The most important thing is making it obvious that he appreciates her hard work. 6-Consultation (Shurah) * Specifically in family matters. * Giving her the feeling that her opinion is important to you. * Studying her opinion carefully. * Be willing to change an opinion for hers if it is better. * Thanking her for helping him with her opinions. 7-Visiting Others * Choosing well raised people to build relations with. There is a great reward in visiting relatives and pious people. (Not in wasting time while visiting!). * Pay attention to ensure Islamic manners during visits. * Not forcing her to visit whom she does not feel comfortable with. 8-Conduct During Travel * Offer a warm farewell and good advice. * Ask her to pray for him. * Ask pious relatives and friends to take care of the family in your absence. * Give her enough money for what she might need. * Try to stay in touch with her whether by phone, E-mail, letters, etc. * Return as soon as possible. * Bring her a gift! * Avoid returning at an unexpected time or at night. * Take her with you if possible. 9-Financial Support * The husband needs to be generous within his financial capabilities. He should not be a miser with his money (nor wasteful) . * He gets rewards for all what he spends on her sustenance even for a small piece of bread that he feeds her by his hand (hadeith) . * He is strongly encouraged to give to her before she asks him. 10-Smelling Good and Physical Beautification * Following the Sunnah in removing hair from the groin and underarms. * Always being clean and neat. * Put on perfume for her. 11-Intercourse * It is obligatory to do it habitually if you have no excuse (sickness, etc.) * Start with "Bismillah" and the authentic du'a. * Enter into her in the proper place only (not the anus). * Begin with foreplay including words of love. * Continue until you have satisfied her desire. * Relax and joke around afterwards. * Avoid intercourse during the monthly period because it haram. * Do what you can to avoid damaging her level of Hiyaa (shyness and modesty) such as taking your clothes together instead of asking her to do it first while he is looking on. * Avoid positions during intercourse that may harm her such as putting pressure in her chest and blocking her breath, especially if you are heavy. * Choose suitable times for intercourse and be considerate as sometimes she maybe sick or exhausted. 12-Guarding Privacy * Avoid disclosing private information such as bedroom secrets, her personal problems and other private matters. 13-Avoid in the Obedience to Allah * Wake her up in the last third of the night to pray "Qiam-ul-Layl" (extra prayer done at night with long sujood and ruku'ua) . * Teach her what you know of the Qur'an and its tafseer. * Teach her "Dhikr" (ways to remember Allah by the example of the prophet) in the morning and evening. * Encourage her to spend money for the sake of Allah such as in a charity sale. * Take her to Hajj and Umrah when you can afford to do so. 14-Showing Respect for her Family and Friends * Take her to visit her family and relatives, especially her parents. * Invite them to visit her and welcome them. * Give them presents on special occasions. * Help them when needed with money, effort, etc. * Keep good relations with her family after her death if she dies first. Also in this case the husband is encouraged to follow the sunnah and keep giving what she used to give in her life to her friends and family. 15-(Islamic) Training & Admonition This includes * The basics of Islam * Her duties and rights * Reading and writing
  15. Asalamu Alaikum, What an article to read. I read and i really enjoyed reading it however it was too long. Thanks bro. Qaqa for sharing it with us, Jazakallahu Khayran.
  16. To say that you don't associate with a particular school of thought in Islam is to say then that you don't follow Islam and don't care about it. So what you are saying is Asinine. well khayr you are jumpy.. And dont know who authorized you to question my Islam. I say i don't identify with myslef with any religious group, how that makes me i dont follow islam and i dont care about it? Strange. And as muslims is it compulsory on us to follow on any School of thought? may be you need to enlighten us more on this.
  17. KHAYR, I beg to disagree with your scrutiny of the religious sects. First of all let me say this I myself do not associate with any sect or religious group other than Islam. But the analysis that we should not debate and discuss the ideological differences of the Muslim world concerns me. The fact that we should blind ourselves and let the difference sort itself out and we should not refer back our differences in to the Holy Book is far more damaging and dangerous than the discrepancies itself. The theory that we can have a volatile coalition, which merely has ideological common goal, is something in my thinking absurd and illogic and something, which will always haunt back the cause. Take an example of the liberation of Afghanistan from the Russia by the Mujahiddin forces who consisted different Muslim Sectarians and what followed after their removal of the regime is in everybody’s guess i.e. disintegration, killings and anarchy reigned and still rules the streets of Afghanistan. The reality that they had no common Islamic perspectives in how to establish Islamic rule and how to serve the population ruined the cause which was suppose to be unity and broader government institutions. The disagreement was triggered and substantiated by contradicting Islamic ideological believes between the very sectarians who were fighting for the cause. The Quran tells us that there were differences between the people of the Book (Christians and Jews) before us and it further tells that they were cursed for not referring their differences to the Book revealed upon them. In that there is a lesson to be learnt for us that we should not repeat the same mistake. In any case there will always be differences between the Muslims as the Prophet (S.W) told us that His ummah will disintegrate into 72 sects. The remedy is found in our holy book we should go back to it for whatever we disagree on without hatred and stubbornness. This is the Modern Age. The Age of Dajjal. This age is against all religions. Anything that says that the Word of God is Supreme and not the Word of Man i.e. Concepts like Freedom. So why hate the Christian, Hindu, Jew or another muslim who follows a different school of thought. As long as muslims agree on the main principles of the religion i.e. the 5 pilliars of Islam and the 6 pillars of Faith, all else is flexible. The methods are debatable but the basic principles are there . I don’t understand how this fits in to the topic you were talking about i.e Muslim relations to other religions, but as a religion we don’t hate them as fellow humanbeings or that is what we suppose to but we hate what they do e.g Worshing God other than Allah not them. That is my cents. I am sorry if any case i went out of the context I was trying not to. Thanks Salaams
  18. At the time of the prophet's Hijra there came to the prophet a Verse in the Quran which promised him that Allah will return him To Mecca. Which was this? and in which surat in the quran is it? IS MY QUESTION UNANSWERABLE? LET ME KNOW? And by the way Suuban i think the sahabi you are refering to is ALI BIN ABII TAALIB (R.A).
  19. Assalaamu Alaikum suuban, I had problem with your question....... as far as my little knowledge goes Only CALI BIN ABIIDAALIB (R.A) was the only caliph from the Prophet's (S.A.W) family or may you tell us the answer, it has been time since you posted your question. While you do that i ask this question: At the time of the prophet's Hijra there came to the prophet a Verse in the Quran which promised him that Allah will return him To Mecca. Which was this? and in which surat in the quran is it?

  21. Hi! Ameena How u doing. Interesting topic I must say, and one, which needs to be debated and discussed. First of all it should be clear for every Muslim that Islam do not support terrorism and if any one do so then the action counts non Islamic. Our Prophet SAW whenever he sent armies to war his advice always has been ‘ not to kill innocent people, not to kill any one who does not fight you and not to harm people in religious worship Jewish or Christians they are. I don’t know who can authorize these kind of acts of killing innocent people after our Prophet (SAW) and the Muslim leaders who followed after him (RA) Originally posted by Ameenah: [QB] Those of you living in the UK (and other parts of the western world) are properly familiar with police discoveries of yet another terrorist cell in London and other parts of the UK. Judging from the latest news flashes it appears that the only criminals out there are Arabs (North Africans), Jamaican gunmen and the odd freaky white dude- but they don’t count Ameena all these so far proved to be only allegations and no body in particular out of those people arrested have been convicted. I believe most of these arrests coincide with the much desperation of the Tony Blair to convince his public attacking Iraq. It so hard to believe whatever we read in British Newspapers. Remember that Algerian man arrested after September 11 , they said that he was member of Alqaeda and jailed him for several months but afterwards proved to be fake allegations. Originally posted by Ameenah First there is no clarity on who the enemy is? Is it the civilians or the government? I ask this, as usual the targets of these ‘mujahids’ are innocent civilians. Secondly, the perceived results of such acts of faith are rather ambiguous. I mean what do they hope to achieve from suicide bombings? ……. pissing off the worlds super powers and what are their bargains? In Islam decisions are made by the Sultan (Ruler) of the Islamic State. Since there is no unity in Muslim world and there is no Islamic State in place, self appointed individuals take things in to their own hands mostly out of anger without looking in to the real Islamic standpoint. In that situation it is not clear for them who is the enemy or how to tackle them and they resort to the terrorism. In my view we know who is the enemy, America and its likes do not want Islamic State and they will do everything in their power to prevent that materialise. For us to defend our Faith and dignity we should go back in to our Diin and work on ways we could unify ourselves under one umbrella and build a Islamic State which protect the Muslim Ummah from oppressors and invaders. We have to be clear that Jihad will always be necessary to defend our faith otherwise there will be many mosques destroyed as Allah Subahannah tells us in this Ayyah ( I haven’t got its proper translation) Suratul Hajj ‘ wallawlaa dafcullahi naasa bacdahum calaa bacdin lahudimat sawaamicun wamasaajidun yudhkaru fiihaa ismullahi’, . We most of the time question America its acts of terrorising muslims a basis of which I can understand but it seems to me very lame argument. America are Kaafirs and they will never like us peaceful we are or not as Allah explained to us in His book but we have to reconcile all our actions we undertake with the Holy-Quran and do Justice to humanity and we should not let our emotions over react and overlook Justice.
  22. By just asking us to be aware of those sites you are at same time promoting them MR.PCW!!!!! I am suspicious here... Are you in a mission.... Most probably so......... Please Admin delete this topic and its likes some one is in an unholy work.
  23. Salaams, islam islam today awaits for another salahudin ayyubi or as the non muslims called him saladin. Here is history of the greatest islamic leader lived in the world in his time. Saladin's History Saladin (also called Salah al-Din) was the most modest and compassionate Middle Eastern leader to ever live! He is considered the greatest leader to ever take on the Crusaders. He came into power in 1174 A.D. At the time, the Muslims had been kicked out of Jerusalem by the Second Crusade. They went into hiding and gathered their forces to attack the Crusaders occupying Jerusalem. When they did attack, long hard battles took place. Many people died and more from the Muslim side than the Christian side because the Crusaders had a city to back them up. Finally, however the Muslims won and took back Jerusalem. About Saladin: Not too many people know what Saladin looked like. Most sources say that he was small, with a short, neat beard and somewhat frail. He was a excellent listener. His normally expressionless face would light-up when spoken to. This made the speaker feel comfortable and could speak very easily. You can see how vital this characteristic would be if you had to negotiate with the Crusaders who really didn't want to negotiate in the first place. It was also seemingly a miracle that Saladin would negotiate with "infidels" (as the Muslims called them) in the first place! Another characteristic that was considered shocking was how compassionate he was. He cried in front of his own advisors when he heard of his nephew's death! This may not seem like so much today, but back then a Sultan never cried in front of anyone. Including himself. The next "shocking" thing about Saladin was about how modest he was. He even took orders from his own servants. Here is an example: One night, after a large battle, Saladin was extremely tired and was lying on his bed to rest. His servant ran into his tent and shook him awake and told him to sign a paper. Saladin told him to go away because he was tired. The servant ignored him and shoved the paper in his face. Saladin said angrily, "I cannot sign the paper. I have a pen but no inkwell. How will I sign it then!" The servant replied,"It is right behind you." Saladin smacked himself on the head,"So it is!" Then he reached around a grabbed the inkwell. What the servant did was considered completely disrespectful and they usually were beaten for their ignorance, sometimes even killed! Saladin actually listened to the servant and fetched the inkwell himself. You can see for yourself what made Saladin such a good leader. Saladin's role in the Crusader times was to lead the the Muslim army to regain Jerusalem. He was the King, but at the time, most kings went to war with their army. He took all of his army and put his maximum force on recapturing Jerusalem. The Christians had controlled Jerusalem for less than 90 years, but they had already set up they're feudal system and manors. This made it a bit harder to recapture Jerusalem. However the Muslims were fighting on familiar land which gave them a military advantage (like knowing places to hide or a place that you can attack the enemy from without being detected until the last possible second). Also they had strong hearts and the will to continue throughout the hard battles of defeat (though they won quite a few too!). Eventually the Muslims did conquer Jerusalem. Through long hard battles, both armies fought with many casualties. After a while of stale-mate (in other words both armies couldn't conquer each other), King Richard the Lion Hearted and Saladin came to an agreement that the Muslims could have Jerusalem back, but it would have to be declared a free city and anyone could visit.
  24. Feels good to be back again and see usual geeley around and about. At some point i didn't recognize any of the people who make the forum tiltles until i reported this thread and oops here are a bunch of old faces. There are strange thing about the new comers as they post same old posts which make us bored, may be they should take some time surfing on the forums before posting any thing. i send salaams to all of you nomads.. keep the cool and i will see you around inshallah
  25. Asalaamu Alaikum, Hi all bothers and sisters, feel good to be back on SOL. coming back to the thread. Since we are somali and our language is somali the medium of communication should be somali only. But for religious and economical factors we should have a sytem in place which teaches people other foreign languages such Arabic (to understand the islamic religion), English ( to communicate with foreingners). we can teach soamli in primary schools and arabic and english in higher educations. in that way we don't lose on both worlds. that is my cents nomads ...see around bye
