  1. Asalamu Alaikum, What an article to read. I read and i really enjoyed reading it however it was too long. Thanks bro. Qaqa for sharing it with us, Jazakallahu Khayran.
  2. To say that you don't associate with a particular school of thought in Islam is to say then that you don't follow Islam and don't care about it. So what you are saying is Asinine. well khayr you are jumpy.. And dont know who authorized you to question my Islam. I say i don't identify with myslef with any religious group, how that makes me i dont follow islam and i dont care about it? Strange. And as muslims is it compulsory on us to follow on any School of thought? may be you need to enlighten us more on this.
  3. KHAYR, I beg to disagree with your scrutiny of the religious sects. First of all let me say this I myself do not associate with any sect or religious group other than Islam. But the analysis that we should not debate and discuss the ideological differences of the Muslim world concerns me. The fact that we should blind ourselves and let the difference sort itself out and we should not refer back our differences in to the Holy Book is far more damaging and dangerous than the discrepancies itself. The theory that we can have a volatile coalition, which merely has ideological common goal, is something in my thinking absurd and illogic and something, which will always haunt back the cause. Take an example of the liberation of Afghanistan from the Russia by the Mujahiddin forces who consisted different Muslim Sectarians and what followed after their removal of the regime is in everybody’s guess i.e. disintegration, killings and anarchy reigned and still rules the streets of Afghanistan. The reality that they had no common Islamic perspectives in how to establish Islamic rule and how to serve the population ruined the cause which was suppose to be unity and broader government institutions. The disagreement was triggered and substantiated by contradicting Islamic ideological believes between the very sectarians who were fighting for the cause. The Quran tells us that there were differences between the people of the Book (Christians and Jews) before us and it further tells that they were cursed for not referring their differences to the Book revealed upon them. In that there is a lesson to be learnt for us that we should not repeat the same mistake. In any case there will always be differences between the Muslims as the Prophet (S.W) told us that His ummah will disintegrate into 72 sects. The remedy is found in our holy book we should go back to it for whatever we disagree on without hatred and stubbornness. This is the Modern Age. The Age of Dajjal. This age is against all religions. Anything that says that the Word of God is Supreme and not the Word of Man i.e. Concepts like Freedom. So why hate the Christian, Hindu, Jew or another muslim who follows a different school of thought. As long as muslims agree on the main principles of the religion i.e. the 5 pilliars of Islam and the 6 pillars of Faith, all else is flexible. The methods are debatable but the basic principles are there . I don’t understand how this fits in to the topic you were talking about i.e Muslim relations to other religions, but as a religion we don’t hate them as fellow humanbeings or that is what we suppose to but we hate what they do e.g Worshing God other than Allah not them. That is my cents. I am sorry if any case i went out of the context I was trying not to. Thanks Salaams
  4. At the time of the prophet's Hijra there came to the prophet a Verse in the Quran which promised him that Allah will return him To Mecca. Which was this? and in which surat in the quran is it? IS MY QUESTION UNANSWERABLE? LET ME KNOW? And by the way Suuban i think the sahabi you are refering to is ALI BIN ABII TAALIB (R.A).
  5. Assalaamu Alaikum suuban, I had problem with your question....... as far as my little knowledge goes Only CALI BIN ABIIDAALIB (R.A) was the only caliph from the Prophet's (S.A.W) family or may you tell us the answer, it has been time since you posted your question. While you do that i ask this question: At the time of the prophet's Hijra there came to the prophet a Verse in the Quran which promised him that Allah will return him To Mecca. Which was this? and in which surat in the quran is it?

  7. Hi! Ameena How u doing. Interesting topic I must say, and one, which needs to be debated and discussed. First of all it should be clear for every Muslim that Islam do not support terrorism and if any one do so then the action counts non Islamic. Our Prophet SAW whenever he sent armies to war his advice always has been ‘ not to kill innocent people, not to kill any one who does not fight you and not to harm people in religious worship Jewish or Christians they are. I don’t know who can authorize these kind of acts of killing innocent people after our Prophet (SAW) and the Muslim leaders who followed after him (RA) Originally posted by Ameenah: [QB] Those of you living in the UK (and other parts of the western world) are properly familiar with police discoveries of yet another terrorist cell in London and other parts of the UK. Judging from the latest news flashes it appears that the only criminals out there are Arabs (North Africans), Jamaican gunmen and the odd freaky white dude- but they don’t count Ameena all these so far proved to be only allegations and no body in particular out of those people arrested have been convicted. I believe most of these arrests coincide with the much desperation of the Tony Blair to convince his public attacking Iraq. It so hard to believe whatever we read in British Newspapers. Remember that Algerian man arrested after September 11 , they said that he was member of Alqaeda and jailed him for several months but afterwards proved to be fake allegations. Originally posted by Ameenah First there is no clarity on who the enemy is? Is it the civilians or the government? I ask this, as usual the targets of these ‘mujahids’ are innocent civilians. Secondly, the perceived results of such acts of faith are rather ambiguous. I mean what do they hope to achieve from suicide bombings? ……. pissing off the worlds super powers and what are their bargains? In Islam decisions are made by the Sultan (Ruler) of the Islamic State. Since there is no unity in Muslim world and there is no Islamic State in place, self appointed individuals take things in to their own hands mostly out of anger without looking in to the real Islamic standpoint. In that situation it is not clear for them who is the enemy or how to tackle them and they resort to the terrorism. In my view we know who is the enemy, America and its likes do not want Islamic State and they will do everything in their power to prevent that materialise. For us to defend our Faith and dignity we should go back in to our Diin and work on ways we could unify ourselves under one umbrella and build a Islamic State which protect the Muslim Ummah from oppressors and invaders. We have to be clear that Jihad will always be necessary to defend our faith otherwise there will be many mosques destroyed as Allah Subahannah tells us in this Ayyah ( I haven’t got its proper translation) Suratul Hajj ‘ wallawlaa dafcullahi naasa bacdahum calaa bacdin lahudimat sawaamicun wamasaajidun yudhkaru fiihaa ismullahi’, . We most of the time question America its acts of terrorising muslims a basis of which I can understand but it seems to me very lame argument. America are Kaafirs and they will never like us peaceful we are or not as Allah explained to us in His book but we have to reconcile all our actions we undertake with the Holy-Quran and do Justice to humanity and we should not let our emotions over react and overlook Justice.
  8. By just asking us to be aware of those sites you are at same time promoting them MR.PCW!!!!! I am suspicious here... Are you in a mission.... Most probably so......... Please Admin delete this topic and its likes some one is in an unholy work.
  9. Salaams, islam islam today awaits for another salahudin ayyubi or as the non muslims called him saladin. Here is history of the greatest islamic leader lived in the world in his time. Saladin's History Saladin (also called Salah al-Din) was the most modest and compassionate Middle Eastern leader to ever live! He is considered the greatest leader to ever take on the Crusaders. He came into power in 1174 A.D. At the time, the Muslims had been kicked out of Jerusalem by the Second Crusade. They went into hiding and gathered their forces to attack the Crusaders occupying Jerusalem. When they did attack, long hard battles took place. Many people died and more from the Muslim side than the Christian side because the Crusaders had a city to back them up. Finally, however the Muslims won and took back Jerusalem. About Saladin: Not too many people know what Saladin looked like. Most sources say that he was small, with a short, neat beard and somewhat frail. He was a excellent listener. His normally expressionless face would light-up when spoken to. This made the speaker feel comfortable and could speak very easily. You can see how vital this characteristic would be if you had to negotiate with the Crusaders who really didn't want to negotiate in the first place. It was also seemingly a miracle that Saladin would negotiate with "infidels" (as the Muslims called them) in the first place! Another characteristic that was considered shocking was how compassionate he was. He cried in front of his own advisors when he heard of his nephew's death! This may not seem like so much today, but back then a Sultan never cried in front of anyone. Including himself. The next "shocking" thing about Saladin was about how modest he was. He even took orders from his own servants. Here is an example: One night, after a large battle, Saladin was extremely tired and was lying on his bed to rest. His servant ran into his tent and shook him awake and told him to sign a paper. Saladin told him to go away because he was tired. The servant ignored him and shoved the paper in his face. Saladin said angrily, "I cannot sign the paper. I have a pen but no inkwell. How will I sign it then!" The servant replied,"It is right behind you." Saladin smacked himself on the head,"So it is!" Then he reached around a grabbed the inkwell. What the servant did was considered completely disrespectful and they usually were beaten for their ignorance, sometimes even killed! Saladin actually listened to the servant and fetched the inkwell himself. You can see for yourself what made Saladin such a good leader. Saladin's role in the Crusader times was to lead the the Muslim army to regain Jerusalem. He was the King, but at the time, most kings went to war with their army. He took all of his army and put his maximum force on recapturing Jerusalem. The Christians had controlled Jerusalem for less than 90 years, but they had already set up they're feudal system and manors. This made it a bit harder to recapture Jerusalem. However the Muslims were fighting on familiar land which gave them a military advantage (like knowing places to hide or a place that you can attack the enemy from without being detected until the last possible second). Also they had strong hearts and the will to continue throughout the hard battles of defeat (though they won quite a few too!). Eventually the Muslims did conquer Jerusalem. Through long hard battles, both armies fought with many casualties. After a while of stale-mate (in other words both armies couldn't conquer each other), King Richard the Lion Hearted and Saladin came to an agreement that the Muslims could have Jerusalem back, but it would have to be declared a free city and anyone could visit.
  10. Feels good to be back again and see usual geeley around and about. At some point i didn't recognize any of the people who make the forum tiltles until i reported this thread and oops here are a bunch of old faces. There are strange thing about the new comers as they post same old posts which make us bored, may be they should take some time surfing on the forums before posting any thing. i send salaams to all of you nomads.. keep the cool and i will see you around inshallah
  11. Asalaamu Alaikum, Hi all bothers and sisters, feel good to be back on SOL. coming back to the thread. Since we are somali and our language is somali the medium of communication should be somali only. But for religious and economical factors we should have a sytem in place which teaches people other foreign languages such Arabic (to understand the islamic religion), English ( to communicate with foreingners). we can teach soamli in primary schools and arabic and english in higher educations. in that way we don't lose on both worlds. that is my cents nomads ...see around bye
  12. lool For sure you have done your homework , but what amazes me most is how you presented the drama...I always thought writing was much harder than reading and that is what i least couldn't do here given the length of your article. But any how,it is some what educating and interesting topic however i am not sure the back up of your claims. Perhaps we should hear from female side of the story.

  15. In democracy there is always be heretic statements as its principles are against the islamic constitution. I am sure you will agree with me that democracy can not be reconciled with Islam as the way it is practised and defined nowadays unless fundenmental change is made to it in which case the there will be no need to be called '' Democracy''( May be, we come with something else). in my perception, social equality means every thing and does not necessarily be confined on programs and services but equality for different societies and cultures hence my point. That does not mean in Islam there is no equality. There is equality but on its own form not the way equality is considered by them. I hope my point is much clear , let me now. Salaams
  16. ''The principles of social equality and respect for the individual within a community'' Doesn`t Islam endorse this anyways?[/QB] well jazeera but what does it mean? In islam equality and respect for the individuals within a community are restricted by the Holy book and the Sunna where for them it means ''No restrictions'' Gay- communities deserve equality with in the society'' ''Nude women are practising their rights for equalty and freedom'', People are free to say whatever they want even if it is against Allah and his Messenger. Then i Ask you my dear '' Is is this THe Islam we know?''
  17. This Jamaican guy once asked me who is the president of your country? I said we have no president simply every one is president of himself. He laughed and said that is good country you can kill any one who messes on you and no body can say a **** to you. May be a prospect he wished to have in here. Call me pessimist if you want, but i dont think somalia will ever have president in the short run while the likes of Muuse suudi yalahoow, Abdulaahi yousif, Ato, Aidid , you mention it are the presidents to be or not to be. Ilaahey umad hadii uu naco kuwooda ugu xun buu madax uga dhigaa. what a shame.. they happen to be our share of leaders
  18. Jazeera that was very good presented and constructive urgument but i am not happy about the term ''democracy'' itself and if we take as you explained it, i think the definition given to democracy will be lost which means '' The common people, considered as the primary source of political power. ''Majority rule''. ''The principles of social equality and respect for the individual within a community''. This means simply that people are the power, they choose what they want how they want it whether bad or good. In our case the rule and constitution belongs to the Almighty Allah becouse He is the the creator And He knows best what is good for the humans. Islam have equivalent or should i say similra phenomenon as '' Democrcy'' which is '' Shuraa'' which Means structure of the goverment is open to the public to discuss themselves and Choose the way of governing and what to do at the times of crisis but the Constitution goes back to the Kuran. w/salaam
  19. Well Mujahid You can think about going to India if the somali women are getting little expensive. There is men shortage there and unlike us women are required to pay their prospective husbands. Good idea, let me know
