Somali State and ONLF leaders meet in Asmara
Old_Observer replied to Che -Guevara's topic in Politics
That was also one of the main reasons Iley had to go. Eritrea shared something with Abiy which should not have, but betrayed ONLF which is understandable by Eritrea. Semi-official media in Ethiopia is saying that Iley was waiting for some chaos in Ethiopia, to take kililka. -
Farmaajo himself will be gone soon unless he quickly moves to Saudi side. Isayas has told him very clearly and Abiy told him Isayas is the main link do as he says. Farmaajo has to get completely in control and under influence of the other power house in Mugadishu. Egypt is also behind to make him pay for refusing her a base, but giving to Turkey and Qatar. Egypt as always piggy backing Gulf Arab money and power.
-
Farmaajo was given this message from Isayas and Abiy. UAE was going to do it slow and hidden, but Saudi Arabia wanted to humiliate Qatar in the open and quick. Expect shake ups in Mogadishu very soon. Isayas is committed to his friends one of the power houses in Mugadishu Abiy could care less as long as he can do as he please in kililka.

The similarities between kililka and Iraq are uncunny: Everyone in Iraq had enough with Saddam Every one in kililka had enough with Iley Unlike Saddam Iley was ready to leave except the Oromo and their Somali friends would not let him leave. They both had interest much greater than Iley leaving. There were countries who did not care about Saddam but cared enough that Iraq needed to be destroyed even divided There were Ethnics in Ethiopia who did not care much about Iley, but the Somali enclave need to be controlled weakened even divided America could have picked Saddam with Helicopter any day if he was the problem Ethiopia or Somalis could have picked Iley if he was the problem Saddam was hanged to please a certain population that were threat to America Iley may be prosecuted to please certain population and yet might just walk with pardon next day or justice may not be served at all with conditions in Ethiopia being in flux The Kurds did not achieve anything worthy to them except making millionairs some of their tribal chiefs The Somalis don't seem to achieve anything at all and some are now regretting the day they called Oromo to straighten things in their favour. On and ON....

Xaaji, Getachew was enemy of Iley. Getachew was enemy of Samora Mohamed Yonis. Iley was friends with Samora and other Generals from that camp. If you know Ethiopian groups you would know this I assumed. Iley was doing his own thing with the military Getachew was doing his own thing with the Intelligence its like CIA and Pentagon in America sometimes they have friction.

Its funny and sad. Saudi Arabia awards its water boys of the horn in competition with UAE which awarded them both first. Its open not even hiding anymore. Eritrea dictator and tribesmen are celebrating telling their Tigray cousins in Ethiopia..you see we beat you to this, the Arabs don't like you, America does not like you and your Chinese friends can't help you. lol This time the bragging noise is deafening Poor Farmaajo I hope he got some money for being umbrella carrier in the heat of Djibouti for Eritrea..

Conflict Brewing Between Jawar's Qeerroo and Addis Ababa's Residents
Old_Observer replied to Che -Guevara's topic in Politics
Very likely and possible but the coup makers cannot get out of Addis Ababa to rule the rest of the country even few km outside the city in Oromo. They would be American/UAE supported Farmaajo of Ethiopia. They know this reality and are trying to kill make ungovernable kilil at a time. Abiy agrees with them. As there is always a Somali at least one clan they will destroy kililka first by spliting it. I am sure there are some Somalis who will be very happy with it to get their own shindig. Abiy said himself that each kilil has 10 times enough fire power as all the opposition combined. -

Conflict Brewing Between Jawar's Qeerroo and Addis Ababa's Residents
Old_Observer replied to Che -Guevara's topic in Politics
That is not so important: Addis Ababa is like DC no representation on house of federation (not tribe) It is in the constitution that the Oromo have interest in the city Its also their capital they can move in anytime Amhara and Gurage have to fight first they have same flag its like the Somalia flag for Somalis everywhere blue and star all want it in some way. Then the Oromo also like the OLF flag again just like the blue and star Amhara have no strong organization somehow feel like lost in the wilderness.. That is the problem of all your life against somebody..when the Tigray said OK we are gone...now all Ethiopia including Eritrea cannot believe. -

Muuse Lokal: Axmedoow, meet me, see me, please
Old_Observer replied to Miskiin-Macruuf-Aqiyaar's topic in Politics
MMA, If it helps its Derg Ethiopia that brought AiDiid from India to later lead USC. You may also think Tigray and Amhara are all Xabeshi, but the cultural difference is quite big. Tigray are more autonomy federal kind/type even when they had their kings on top. Every shindig can run its affairs. Unless you are one to follow developments closely the knowledge and information your great father had is quite different now. The Tigray lost a million people to famine/starvation. On a 4-5 million people that can change your attitude dramatically. . -

My friend. Here is what I know from reading, listening to big men's conversations by chance or accident of simply being there, following real actions taken..etc During the Derg SNM was suspect, I think Derg intelligence officers had a hunch that the Somalilanders felt more the mistakes and failure of 77. You can easily read from a nomads face no matter how much he wants to act english on you. With Tigray they had one understanding and very trusting. Somalilanders knew the Tigray have no interest what so ever in war close to kililka if they can avoid it. Somaliland had the same interest and even with Puntland they had modus vivendi. Somalilanders can tell you but from Ethiopia's side had no prefered person in any of the Somaliland elections. Another thing they understood each other very very well was that Tigray would be last government on earth to recognize Somaliland, but Tigray were more than happy to help Somaliland for economic, security..related diplomacy. Somaliland officials are also very reserved and less open with Ethiopians. The one thing Tigray were very interested was more Somalilanders to study in Ethiopian schools. The reason is fundamental, but very simple. If Somaliland and Somalia stay together there is an army of government officials in Somalia who will not be guided by bias, false info about Ethiopia. Can be best friend or an opponent but very intelligent about you. You can talk things wich any nomad will lift a gun while smiling. Its also very easy for economic integration when you have labor force that can understand each other to work cohesively even in one company. Ethiopia has 6-7 million Somalis which means ready made that may just need tour or orientation of one or two weeks. Not sure what Oromo thinking would be, but I don't think will be any different unless Somaliland had been wrong side of Isayas some day in the past. For sure there is difference regarding Mogadishu power houses. Oromo are friendly to them, Eritrea is most friendly to them. Tigray were always more concerned with bordering states and peoples/clans. Djibouti, Somaliland, Puntland, HirShebelle, Bay and Bakool and now Jubaland were all friendly or do no harm areas for Tigray. With Oromo of course have land interest, are close, they will be more guided by Eritrea and UAE even Egypt. Egypt is very very angry at Somaliland for being refused base. But Egypt is very very weak country, while wicked. -
Nothing about people in kililka will be in the courts. It will be all something to do with the Oromo. Hold on to your hats.

Five independent Somali parties endorse Kismayo declaration
Old_Observer replied to Deeq A.'s topic in Politics
I think this thing may turn out to be big. It looks like people are sticking out their names for this or that side. It maybe already free play in Mogadishu, people thinking next government already. -
France cannot save Djibouti from American style regime change. He seems to know a good way to fight face book revolutions, his own face book of elders and clan folks from both Somali and Afar. So far is working.

Ethiopia, Eritrea and Somalia leaders to meet in Asmara
Old_Observer replied to Che -Guevara's topic in Politics
Your guess is correct. It was just financial with the Tamils. He also used to trade in North Korea weapons with South Sudan and at one time he used to support the Houthi when the Yemen president was friend of Zenawi, Al Bashir and A. Yusuf..remember there was big news of Iran having a shop around Assab. Israel, USA, Egypt has never been rejected anything they wanted in Eritrea. These are countries that can do damage to him in a Mogadishu minute. Soon he will start some quarel or conflict in Sudan. He had 4 Darfur organizations at one time. He is a fiesty guy and since he has absolute control of his shindig, and is safe from the big guys, he feels he can act that way everywhere. He is very angry with his kins Tigray and Afar since they are the border people to his shindig and have never been intimidated by him. When Eritrea was Qatar boy Zenawi cut diplomatic relations with Qatar on behalf of Djibouti. The Qatari behaved and reconciled with Djibouti who was friends with UAE then. -
Syria is excluded South Sudan is being begged to join by Egypt Eritrea is only observer for a long time since first conflict with Ethiopia since its a sensitive issue in Eritrea. I don't know why Egyptians never give up on this? And now Qatar cannot attend if in Saudi Arabia or UAE since all their delegation is not allowed unless they want to be represented by what these countries allow. Good business for Egypt since Gulf finances. Arab League now is very low in Sudan after the Palestinian issue is no more important for Arab League. If I were Farmaajo I would send my secretary or even have a Somali businessman or Student there represent. Just one time and then they would learn to support Somalia tangibly.

Ethiopia, Eritrea and Somalia leaders to meet in Asmara
Old_Observer replied to Che -Guevara's topic in Politics
Oodweyne, Spare couple of minutes and read this article on how the Bush administration was ready to put Eritrea on the list of countries sponsoring terrorism for Eritrea's link with Tamil Tigers. Daya Gamage – US Bureau Asian Tribune Washington, D.C. 01 September (Asiantribune.com): Sri Lanka’s Minister of Media and Information Anura Priyadharshana Yapa told a press briefing in Colombo yesterday that he would ask the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to probe into the United States Senate foreign relations committee documentation that the Government of Eritrea is giving assistance to his country’s separatist Tamil Tiger rebels saying “no sovereign government would assist a known terrorist organization.” The Senate foreign relations committee’s findings that the Eritrean government is assisting Tamil Tiger rebels was revealed by the ‘Asian Tribune’ quoting part of the document that mentioned Sri Lanka. The document, dated 15 December 2006, was authored by the then chairman of the foreign relations committee Richard Lugar, now the ranking member of the same committee, for the perusal of the U.S. Departments of State and Defense. The ‘Asian Tribune’ report said "Unless the committee is satisfied with the data collected by its staff that traveled to four continents covering approximately twenty countries the final report wouldn’t have authoritatively mention that the "Government of Eritrea" is providing "direct military assistance" to the Tamil Tigers of Sri Lanka." At a press briefing in Washington on August 17 State Department’s Assistant Secretary for Africa revealed that the Bush Administration is seriously contemplating declaring Eritrea as country that assist terrorism that will follow with imposing embargos on this country in the African Horn. The ‘Asian Tribune’ contends that the Government of Sri Lanka needs to get through to the six members of the Lugar staff who completed the investigative report for the Senate foreign relations committee to get into the details of the Eritrean-Tamil Tiger connection that the final report did not carry. Breaking the Eritrean-Tamil Tiger rapport the ‘Asian Tribune’ said that those staff members and the Senators who form the Foreign Relations Committee could shed additional light for the Government of Sri Lanka to get to the bottom of the issue. Once armed with hard evidence the Government of Sri Lanka will be in a better position to take up the matter with the United Nations as both Sri Lanka and Eritrea are sovereign members of the World Body. Eritrea’s neighbor Ethiopia, which once formed a single nation, is an important ally of the United States in her war against ‘Global Terrorism’. The U.S. has already accused and collected data that the Government of Eritrea, an authoritarian regime, is aiding and abetting rebels within the borders of Ethiopia. In the light of the U.S. Senate foreign relations committee revelation that the authoritarian regime of Eritrea is having a close rapport with Sri Lanka’s Liberation Tigers who are in an armed struggle to destabilize the democratic government of Sri Lanka, the Sri Lankan regime should be extra cautious at a time when reports emanate from Ethiopia that Sri Lanka’s ‘peace facilitator’ Norway is being impeached in that country for meddling in its internal affairs. In her investigation to find out the truth about Eritrea-Tamil Tiger rapport it is in the interest of Sri Lanka’s territorial integrity, sovereignty and the democratic system, and most importantly in her struggle to defeat Tamil Tiger terrorism, to find out if there is a covert alliance between Norway and the Government of Eritrea to destabilize Ethiopia, a country the United States consider an important ally in the war against global terrorism. Norway, the current facilitator of the peace arrangement between Sri Lanka government and the Tamil Tigers and the underwriter of the now almost defunct 2002 Ceasefire Agreement, is being accused by the Rajapaksa administration and other anti-Tiger Tamil political movements as partial to the separatist Tigers. Despite the international community, including the United States, consider Norway as the legitimate facilitator of peace between the two warring factions, the Scandinavian country has been viewed with suspicion in this South Asian nation. As much as Norway has lost her credibility in Ethiopia it has lost all confidence and credibility in Sri Lanka who are opposed to Tamil Tiger terrorism. The scenario that has emerged due to the U.S. Senate foreign relations committee authoritatively mentioning the Government of Eritrea assisting Tamil Tiger rebels in one of its Congressional documents, it is in the interest of Sri Lanka to fix this jig-saw-puzzle of this triumvirate Norway-Eritrea-LTTE in her own national interest at least invigorating its sagging and ineffective overseas public diplomacy. In fact, ‘direct assistant’ from the Government of Eritrea to the Tamil Tigers obviously do not consist of canned food and other groceries. - Asian Tribune - -
Eritrea to rejoin IGAD next week The final signing ceremony of South Sudan revitalized peace agreement will take place in Addis Ababa next week. By Amare Asrat Last updated Sep 8, 2018 Addis Ababa, September 8, 2018 (FBC) – Eritrea will rejoin the East African bloc, the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD), at an event to be held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia next week. Eritrea suspended its IGAD membership in 2007 and rejoined the bloc in 2011. But it suspended its membership again in 2017. In a related development, the final signing ceremony of South Sudan revitalized peace agreement will take place in Addis Ababa next week. Sudan Tribune quoted Ismail Wais, IGAD Special Envoy for South Sudan, as saying “the final signing ceremony will be done in Addis Ababa.” He added the Council of ministers will be held on the 11 and 12 September followed by the Summit of IGAD Assembly of Heads of State and Government. The two meetings will discuss the concerns and reservations of the opposition groups and endorse the final text of the revitalized peace agreement, Sudan Tribune added.

As long as there are some sub clans or clans that do not feel at home in the capital, even when its their turn to sit on the chair, they will strengthen their home base and have powerful home other than the capital. You can't have technocrats in Africa to run government. In Belgium the country was run by technocrats and bureaucrats for almost two years when the clans there could not set up government. Imagine that happening anywhere in Africa, impossible.

Ethiopia, Eritrea and Somalia leaders to meet in Asmara
Old_Observer replied to Che -Guevara's topic in Politics
On top of that the perfect example was when somebody wanted to stop oil business in kililka, they needed a "good" name to be used and viola was ONLF to kill the Chinese and Ethiopian workers for few million bucks. I read somewhere that if a nationalist movement takes too long is always at risk of becoming a racket. The Eritreans were close to being so if it wasn't for the Tigray. Still now many of Eritrea commanders are involved in trafficking. -

ONLF is the only one that can operate in 3 African countries "legitimately".
