What Dr. K is trying to get through to you is that this is about ethnicities. The Somalis in the NFD are "Kenyan" but they are not Bantu. Somalis have a right to be in Kenya. We are part of the Kenyan population--and for decades have been the most neglected and abused. The powers that be are feeling threatened. The Kalenjin are being squeezed out as the 3rd most important ethnic group. Ruto can yaac yaac all he wants but he sees the writing on the wall. Somalis are finally taking what they have been denied by decades of oppression in this country. Uhuru knows he's losing a good chunk of his economy when Somalia stabilizes. Somali businesses, international conferences, MP hotel rentals, NGOs, diaspora spending--will all move to Xamar. No more flights from Finland carrying maryooleey will land in Nairobi. They will go straight to the motherland. Uhuru desperately tried to capture a piece of the booming action. He has succeeded in the short term with JL. But Al-Shabaab and some wadani qabiils are reminding that the war is not over. And no doubt, he will lose.
