OOdweyne, that is so true. Yesterday I had lunch with one of Sheikh Shariif Ahmed lieutenants who was in town. He was convinced that Sheikh Shariif will be the next one in line to replace Qoslaaye. I protested about this constant " Qori Isku Dhiib of these community. He said " Hadaan loodhiibin cimaamad ayey soo qaadanayaan oo Al.shabaab ama wax kale oo cusub ayey la imaanayaan". So until the country becomes stable this " Anarchists " will rule the country for the next six years.

It was probably yesterday. I guess the whole comment disappeared completely. Also my comments were delayed for moderation. I thought, I have been policed by Buuraha and company. Since you clarified , let us assume it as water under bridge.

I have a beef with administrators. They are policing my comments. I never write any thing hostile or abuse. the other day I wrote " madax Faluuq" referring to a real " madax Faluuq",and it did disappear quickly.

Ciidan Suldann, the Sunni tribes oppressed and killed by Maliki turned against the government. The Shia dominated army from the south were in hostile territory. Their only option is to abandon. They don't even want to die or fight in Anbar province which they consider a Sunni territory. It is a sectarian war. Sunnis both in Iraq and Syria who were desperate have thrown themselves to ISIS. Just like Somalis oppressed by the warlords and anarchists sought help from Al-shabaab. No one knows how long the alliances of these two bedfellows will last. If they were people interested about forming responsible government and seeking stability for Iraqis and Syrians , they would have selected a leader who would have opened a dialogue with both Iraqis and the world , instead of beheading and killing people without mercy. They would have released the hostages for good will and mercy, and speak about the plight of the Sunnis. These obscure leaders who will probably finish their whole time hiding will not establish a government. Does anyone have seen how did Mullah Omar of Afghanistan looked like. There are no pictures. NO one had seen the picture of Ahmed Godane for the last five years while he was leading Al-shabab. That is how they rule. In the future , This Al-Baghdadi of the ISIS , will be probably heard in voice recorded cassette . Yes the people of Syria have suffered a lot, but Allah says, that " In every hardship there is and ease". Islam never uses this earth scorching method of killing everyone including prisoners. Why any war between a blood thirsty Arab dictator ands those who were trying to overthrow has been pronounced as the battle for the future of Islamic world or the war for Armageddon. I could see men screaming from mosques calling ISIS as the ultimate khalifa that Muslims were waiting. AS I viewed the video, some Sheikhs are even quoting some Hadiths about Syria and describing these armies as those described by the Prophet ( scw). That is totally misrepresentation of the Prophet , and it is wrong. Twenty years ago a country who was a member of the Arab league collapsed. hundred of thousands were dying for hunger, yet they didn't raise a finger. As late as 2011, Somalis were dying for famine by thousands. You couldn't hear anyone screaming from the gulf and Arab mosques for help of these people. Why would anything that happens in that part of the world is portrayed as Islam against the world. Arabs are 20% of the Muslim world. They should clean their house and stop these desperations which are against our faith. If ISIS has any mercy or good will for Iraq and it's people , they must transfer the leadership for the local Sunnis and let them decide if they want to remain in Iraq or form their own sectarian based state. At least , now they may have a good bargaining position to challenge the Shia government in Baghdad. The truth is that won't happen. Just as Al-shbaab refused the will of the Somali people , these guys will kill who ever opposes them. I ask you how many more Iraq Sunnis are they willing to behead. The one thing that I agree with you though is the danger Iran and it's proxies Shias pose to the region.

Typical answer. One thing you are correct about is we have to face this evil ( Siilaanyo), sooner rather than later.

majority of the cabinet calls pm to resign The Pm Declines
galbeedi replied to malistar2012's topic in Politics
Che, the cabinet probably tried to resolve. They couldn't convene for three weeks. We all know this a Presidential system, masquerading as Westminster parliamentary. I think Cali Geedi explained well yesterday in the media. The Prime minister is a manager and the President is the leader. He sets the agenda and the Prime minister executes. I will suggest that Farah C/qadir should be the chief of staff of the President. He should leave the cabinet work for the President. -
majority of the cabinet calls pm to resign The Pm Declines
galbeedi replied to malistar2012's topic in Politics
I think the time has come for the Prime minister to resign honorably. If his entire cabinet requested this for the good of the country, he should listen. Rather than keep the constant disturbances of the Parliament, he should bow down and accept this advice from his cabinet. If no one can resolve this without motion or rconciliation, it could have been done long time ago. " Soomaalidu Mar Haday is qabato, Dib uma wada shaqeeyaan". insiders are saying these war between the two started six months ago and it continued. These latest move from C/weli was to fight back and leave honourably without been sacked. Rather than prolong this one until the new year , he could save some time for few things to be accomplished before Qoslaaye leaves in 2016. What I do not like is why Faarh c/qadir is the on the top of the list. He isn't the most senior minister. He even sits at the head of the cabinet table close to the Prime minister, that is unacceptable. Every where the Defence, Foreign and the interior ministers are more important than the constitutional minister. -
Malister, usually I do not like to argue back and forth with those who already made up their mind, but , as you stated, the SNM boys always had their own logic. Their tribal hiring process is the most corrupt and backward in any system of government. They have no shame in terms of greed and nepotism. They mostly robbed us during Dahir Rayaale Presidency. AS an Awdalite , he couldn't openly defend or loopy for his own province. There is a tradition that says " Qaybiyaa Qadda". When Cigaal was President we had sixteen members of Parliament, he tried to legitimize the sixteen but we refused, because they had more than their shares. During Rayaale, the three parties agreed to give AWdal 13. Based on those understanding without census , it was agreed to be temporary. They gave Berbers Town with less the 54,000 votes 10 mps. If you look all election results for Parliament and Presidency the Awdal average was always about 22%. If you add those who live Hargeisa and other places , we are easily 24%. At minimum we should have 17 Mps. The airport and aviation minister, when they asked him about developing the Boorama Airport, he said. Hargeisa is the Capital, Berbera is the main port and international airport and Burco should be the hub of eastern business, Boorama isn't priority. WE are dealing with tribal chauvinistic who are were made ministers without qualification and any sense of justice. Actually, in Somali tradition tribes are always rivals, that means they do not trust one another or work the advancement of others. The biggest mistake is these naïve Awdalites are waiting someone in Burco or Gabiley to acknowledge their political and economic needs. In this age of tribal hegemony, the rival tribes will not only marginalize you, but, they will oppress you, demean you and finally may even massacre you for not standing up. The biggest mistake we did was by accepting a " Nazi" style SNM leadership who came to power with tribal hatred. people got rid of them twenty years ago, but they came back during the Rayaale Presidency by using tribal card. YOU will not find Jewish people accepting a racist party to come to power or Neo-Nazis forming the government. WE accepted those who hated us to rule over us. Because of decent men like Cigaal , we thought we left behind those warmongers. WE should have said no when the likes of Siilaanyo, Biixi, INa Kahin and others came back to the political arena. The only way to challenge the SNM system of government is to form a well organized pro-AWdalite party that will eventually declare a free system of government. Believe me, we are not the kind of people who boast with hubris and chest pumping. WE will create our own Switzerland. Somalis every where are deciding their own destiny. Besides, you guys already said that a tribal system of government will not work. Isn't every thing in Hargeisa today about tribal confrontation and supremacy. Bahasha ha la kal diro. Reer Walba ha is maamulo. haven't you seen the tribal lines in MUdug, where Puntland and Galmudug separated peacefully. At least they are honest about their tribal loyalties. Malister, on the question of how we ended up with SNM is a long one . I have to organize and write in the near future.

Mitid, Saaxiib., Clan ego is always there for all of us including the SNM. The main thing is am following the money and the projects. we could not even get 5% of these donor financed projects. In all you seem to be an intelligent person with well thought argument.

Xaaji, welcome back. I knew these boys couldn't handle a mans job, so Xaaji is here to reuse. At least you pointed out the gulf and trade issues. Also the issue of the southern political power in the sixties could have been an under current issue that never goes away. The basic aspect of my argument was rather than hardship, you were seeking power, although the price paid for that was very high. We know Somali Nationalism is dead and it is replaced by tribal hegemony and history. Every thing that people used to hold dear mean nothing today. Ahmed Guray, Sayid<ii Ina C/le Xasan, and those who fought for our collective freedom are replaced by Ahmed Siilaanyo, Aideed and C/laahi Yusuf. WE swallowed a lot of pride and discarded a lot of history and tradition for peace and co-existence. So far other democracy in name only , we couldn't see any functioning system of government. The system is nurturing tribalism , corruption and nepotism. How long people have to wait for a modern government. In Somaliland WE could easily see two groups that divided every thing along tribal lines. Siilaanyo, and his company run the presidency, foreign aid, airports, and all things petroleum, while the other side runs the military, finances, foreign policy , industry, education and ports. What is left behind. Do we have to beg this hungry " SNM Habro" for building small fishing ports and basic things, when tens of millions are pockets from donors in our name. We are tired of refereeing these squabbling Habros . For the last 18 months nothing has been done to advance or improve the system. " Hambo dambe diyaar uma Nihin". you refused to be taxed by Siyaad Barre and want free economy. We want the same thing. I am not sure if the Somaliland system could be reformed any more. " Waa nidaam Ragaaday oon La Toosin Karin". I see a so called Sheikh Samaale, the Finance minister using the ministry as family cash cow. We have been speaking all these years with no avail. " Samir Haduu Wax Dili Lahaa , we have shown enough patience. We Awdalites will be putting the Somali and Somaliland issues to their last coffin and we will nail them once for all. If things do not change, we will leave Somaliland and Somalia both and declare an independent " Awdal Emrite" that will trace it's old history. So Xaaji, And our friend Ciidan Suldaan , Somaliland must reform immediately or we will be history.

The issue isn't about the purpose it was created. I did said that it has clear purpose to overthrow the regime. The argument here is why you rebel when you were in the height of your prosperity. The main point was it was created by diaspora members sipping " Casiir" in the gulf, who latter went to London. As Talaabo mentioned they were not popular among the people when they were created. There is a basic formula in any rebellion, those who oppose it will use force. This wasn't 2014 or the era of open debate. If you challenge a dictatorship, oppression will follow. First it was the creation , then it was followed by the reaction of the regime. Usually in any rebellion , the action of the state forces people to rise up. here it was vice-versa. The AWdal people have ten times grievances and economic marginalization than SNM ever had. There is more nepotism and clannish hiring in Hargeisa than any where in the history of Somali people. A finance minister hired 1400 people in less than two years six were from AWdal. There are no guide lines . Fishing ports are blockaded for any economic activity, people in Zaylac ad lawyacado are pick pocketed by hungry customs who have check points between the cities collecting illegal money. There is total economic marginalization and embargo in Awdal. WE don't know where these millions of dollars of foreign aid money are hidden. WE are collecting money from our people to build hospitals, schools and small ports. Well we have more issues to rise up than what you were complaining against your Kacaan, and that rebellion is coming if things don't change very quickly. Well, again what did happen in the seventies that created SNM in 1980.

che, here the emphasis is between 1969- 1980. so, why not elaborate.

As I was writing about the past history of Somalia , mainly the power structure of the October revolution and the impact certain individuals had on that government, I came to realize that sometimes the perception of the people could be far from reality. There was always gaps between perception and reality when it comes Somali tribal histories. Each one of them have their own perception of realities derived from their own narratives, collective experience , stories passed to generations , and hardships they endured during tough times. If the gab between the realities and the perception people held becomes huge, then we will have constant misunderstanding of the past and future. When I ask , what is the main reasons the Somali National Movement or SNM was created ?, it doesn't mean that the movement didn't have clear purpose, or mission, It had, but I am exclusively inquiring the most fundamental reasons that forced those people to rise up against the system and start an armed struggle. Usually oppression, imprisonment, political murder, suppression of the culture, political marginalization and economic embargo of a people, are some of the main reasons people rise to overthrow the ruling order. I would like the members of SNM community here and else where to help us understanding the main reasons that made these people to create an armed struggle in the early eighties. SNM was first created in February, 1981, in Jeddah Saudi Arabia by expatriate Isaaqis living in the gulf countries. The official formation and proclamation is April 04, 1981 in London , England. Since early 1981 is the crucial years , let us examine what took place between October 1969, and December, 1980. What took place for those 11 year of the Kacaan that culminate the uprising and formation of SNM?. As I pointed out with my last articles, the most powerful men in the Kacaan government were northerners. Almost 40% of the officers of the coup were Reer Woqooyi. once again here is the list: 1- General Ahmed Ali Qorsheel, From Sanaag. 2- General Mohamed Caynaashe, from Sanaag. 3-Colonel Ismacil A. Abokor, Sheekh, Togdheer. 4-Colonel Ahmed Suleyman cabadalle, sheekh, Togdheer 5-colonel Mohamed Cali Shire, from Laascanood. 6-Colonel Faarax Wacays duule, from Awdal 7-Colonel Ahmed Mohamuud farah, from Hargeisa. 8-Colonel Ahmed Hassan Muuse, from Burco. 9-Colonel Muuse Rabiile Good, from Boorama 10- Colonel Mohamed Cumar Jees, from Hargeisa. the term Reer Woqoyi, means those who hail from that region without tribal classification. Eve n if we separate the SNM community from the group, by far they were the largest office holders of the Kacaan. No other group ever held, diverse and powerful cabinet posts in those years, except eighties when things started declining and the ' Gedo community and 'D' block hegemony was out of the box with ugly consequences. Almost every powerful position of the government were alternated by these Northern politicians and military officers. some argued that the northerners were midwifes, others claim that they were marginalized. Then how come did they held almost all sensitive and powerful ministries of the Kacaan?. In fact if you combine all the Reer Woqoyi, you could say that, they were the ones who oppressed other Somalis with their close nit clan affiliation and nepotism . They had two vice Presidents, one was intelligence chief, the other , chief architect of the socialism and state propaganda chief. At one point, Jamac Mohamed Qalib was the Interior minister. In 1970, the finance minister was Mohamed hawadle Madar, the foreign minister was Cumar Carte Qaib, the planning minister was Siilaanyo, the information minister was Ismaciil A. Abokor, and may more. In another time in the seventies, and early eighties, both the National police chief and the national prison warden chief ( Taliyaha ciidanka asluubta), were both from SNM community. Prison wardens in the dictatorial Somalia were not your typical correctional officers. The man who was in charge was holding political prisoners in " Labaatan Jirow and other notorious jails. I remember in the mid eighties walking from Number 4, bus station to the national university Gahayr. Just before you reach the campus , we used to pass this huge mansion with open gates and dozen luxury cars sitting. Everyone used to notice. It was the home of the chief of the prison guards general Isamacil Ahmed ismacil of Burco. If you leave behind the Reer Woqooyi name and exclude others who were also powerful , like Galaydh, Dafle, Mohamed Cali shire, Muuse Rabiile the Mohamed Jibril of ' Qaloocan", you still had a dominant role in the kacaan by the SNM community. At one point, from Hargeisa region alone , there were , Cumar Carte, Mohamed Hawdale Madar, Jamac Mohamed qalib, and Ahmed mohamuud Farah. All were Hargeisa natives running huge ministries, from foreign, public works and internal security. . Add that to Ahmed Siilaanyo, Ahmed Hassan Muuse and Ismaaciil A. abokor and Prison chief Ismacil A. Ismaaciil , all Burco natives. . If you are running the foreign policy of the country , the finances, the planning , the police, the prisons and the propaganda arm of the state what is left behind. How about the people of Bay and Bakool. People who had some influence and good number of seats in the civilian parliament over thrown by the military. They didn't have one single member among the coup leaders of the kacaan. In fact other than the Gedo community, who had more than three members including Siyaad Barre, the people who hail from Afgooye to kismaayo had one single member by the name of Cabdi Warsame Isaaq. After the collapse of the state, both the HAG and the " D" block overrun their countryside without mercy. They didn't have passport to escape. They were the people who lived off the land, innocent people that the state should have protected. This large community never held anything close to the a quarter of what the SNM community had in the Kacaan. Compare also this with the Puntlanders which the Kacaan called " Canaasiir". From 1969-1980, non of them ever held any position of significant power. Unlike the Reer Woqoyi, no Puntlander ever held the interior, defence, and foreign ministry, or any top commander of the army. The only exemption was Mohamed Saciid Morgan. In 1975, he was a lieutenant body guard of the president. After he leaked the date of the coup by Puntlanders in 1978, he immediately promoted and became the son in law of Siyaad barre. in 1980 , he was promoted as a general and made the commander of the central Somalia Army division. A well known Somali professor by the name of Caalin, jokingly said " Xageed ku Aragteen jenaraal weli hooyadii dhalayso", referring the youthful unqualified son in law who became a general. Morgan didn't disappoint Siyaad barre. he not only crushed and killed every opposition or individual he suspected of rebellion, he fire bombed water wells and staved the nomads of the region. Because of his actions, the Mudug region became a ghost land in 1981. Somalis always have their own logic on this issues, but any elementary research shows that the Puntlanders were the purged and marginalized people in the Kacaan years. That doesn't mean they were under pressure or faced hardship before they tried the coup. Although they didn't have high profile members in the highest echelons of the military, still they had a huge officer corps in the army in the seventies. Their biggest mistake was they thought the crown belonged to them and wanted to get it back. They didn't realize that the sun has already set on them , and the new sheriff in the town is a ruthless man who despises them. After the coup of April/1978, they became the enemy of the state. In the Somali political history, before that coup, the scale of the purges , jailed officers and killings were never seen before. Among the seventeen accused by being the coup plotters, sixteen out of the seventeen were puntlanders. All of them were shot by firing squad, another forty officers were condemned to life in prison, and prison sentences in dozen years. By 1981, the total purge of the puntlanders were total. The strange thing about this Machiavellian Puntlanders is , they don't complain , mourn, or cry for those who were purged, imprisoned and killed by the Kacaan. They consider it as part of the game. They consider it the price people pay by trying to gain power. Even today, they don't have the Prime minister's position, the top military leaders , the police or even powerful ministries under the Hassan Sheekh Government, yet everyone is blaming them about the latest squabble between Culusow and Yuulka. Even our own Amin Amir is saying it is the Puntlanders who are behind the Prime minister troubles. That is why I respect them as players of the game more than anyone else. In the cultural front , I did mention that the northern composers, singers and Poets ruled the day. They carried the Kacaan to the air waves. among the enthusiasts of the kacaan were , poet Timacade; composers: cali sugule, Cisman askari, C/laahi Qarshe, Huseen Aw Farah, and many others. while singer were among the best to raise the national awareness of the Kacaan. the likes of Mohamed suleyman ( from berbera), sahra ahmed, Khadra, hibo, kuluc, Maanddeeq, and may more,. they were the members of the famed Waaberi folklore band that toured around the world in west Africa, Sudan, and China. Here Timacade demanding more purges, after the Kacaan shot three comrades for treason: Inkastoo wasiir dhib laha Jeelka lagu Dheelay OO Dhooreyaashi Sar sare Dhabarka loo jiiday Dadku Tawraduu Dhawrayaa oo wuu Dhursugayaaye Dhoobadu Halkii Ay Fadhiday Looma Dhaadhicine Dhexda Nimankii Noo Joogsaday ee Dhaxanta noo Saaray Dhiig Yacabadii lama Qaqaban Dhiiranaan Jiraye Jeero Waxay Naga Dhaceen Laga Dheemaalsho Daarahan La Dhiibsaday Ilaa laga Dhawateeyo Dhacadiidka Jeero Rag Badan Dhawda laga Saaro Jeero rag lagu Dhoogtamow Dhaaftay La Arkaayo ( Unless many are targeted for shooting) Dhunkaal shilinku jeeruu Noqdoo Dhuunta Mari Waayo Dhabaqsiga La dayn Maayo, iyo Dhiilkii la is Baraye. In this poem , Timacade is calling for more purges and elimination of the enemies of the Kacaan. Cali sugule, proclaimed the writing of the Somali language and said: Af qalaad Aqoontu miyaa? Maya maya, mahee, Afqaalaad Aqoontu Miyaa? Maya ee Waa ninmbe EEbe intuu Gashaa Ayey Nala Tahay Anagee , ma Ogtahay dib looma abuura dadkee. Of course there were people of northern and southern origin who left the Kacaan early after they saw some of the ugly and tribal favoritism early , while others left for ideological reasons for their antipathy of communism. They were from different tribes and each one of them had his own personal reasons. Some influential Somalis from the art community left the country. Among the first to live were Hassan Sheekh Muumin and Mohamed Hudaydi. The Composer of Shabeel Naagood ( Horyaalka Riwaayadaha), Hassan Sheekh Muumin, left Somalia in 1977 to Djibouti. Before he left the country , he met Siyaad Barre and told him " Ama Ciidan Dhis, Ama Xoog Badan yeelo, Meel Fog Gaadhi maysid., Nin ayaad waxuu xaq u lahaa ka Qaaday , mid kale ayaad wax uusan Haq u Lahayna Waad Siisay". He simply said : Injustice will eventually destroy you. He began broadcasting cultural programs from Djibouti radio. These were the heavy weights of Somali culture. He not only took part for the art , he was , like C/laahi Qarshe ,a pioneers of Somali culture .Among the Famous lyrics of Hassan Sh. Muumin were: here on culture, Reer Guuraya iyo Gabadh Tima Tidcani Waa waxa dalkeena u Gaara e laynagu Garte Maantay Galadi Noo Soo Gashaye Gobanimaaadayada Guulow adkee. On education: Aqoon la, aani Waa Iftiin La, aane Ogaada ogaada dugsiyada Ogaada. About teacher and country: Waxan ahay Webiga Dugsiyadaa, Waxan Ahay Wanada Macalinka Waagi beryaba Ubax Laga Waraabsho, Waxaan ku Weweraynaa Wadankiina Wax u Barta Iska Jira Waxyeelada Waddankeennu waa, Wadnihii jidhkeenna, Waraabinayay dhiiggoo, Waan ku wardiyaynaa About Somali Alphabet: Erayada an ku Qoro qumaati Uga Bogo Afkii Qalaad Ha moodin , Carabku Qaldin Maayee Sidii Caanaha Qudhqudhiya. Marxab Marxab Yaa Ramadaan Wayaa Marxabaabika Yaa Rabadaan. And more.... Dad weynahan Hanuuna Hasaawina Danta U hagnaa. Ma Hagranee waan U hawl Galna. Dab iyo Dhagax La iskuma Dhuftee Kala Dhawraay. and may more. Among his playwites were: Shabeel Naagood, Gaarabildhaan, Aduunyadu Maskaxday Magan U Tahay and more. This man has so many firsts. He had the first " Riwaayad", that opened the national theatre, and the first Riwaayad that was translated in English by Shabeel Naagood ( A leopard among women), which depicted the modern urban life and the decline of the order. He even predicted the calamities that will befall the nation, "if it buried the constitution, the rule of law, and it's faith". Dalaalnimada Diintiyo Dastuurka Iyo Xeerka Hadii Dabool La Saaro Dawo Bukuutoy Weeye... He was replaced By Mohamud Nuur Shareeco as head of the National theatre. In 1982, a group " Jabhads from SSDF came to him in Djibouti and asked him to broadcast an anti Siyaad Barre Radio program from Diredawa Ethiopia. He declined. Then , few months latter more " opposition guys, this time from both SSDF and SNM came to him and offered cash incentives and asked him to broadcast from Djibouti without going to Ethiopia. He told them: " I garan maysaan baan u malaynayaaye, Hooyaday Saylac bay Ku Dhalatay , Aabahayna, Harrar Buu Ku Dhashay", he continued, " I am the son of two civilizations". Hassan's father Sheekh Muumin was a refugee who left Harrar in 1897, after the Ethiopian king who replaced Emperor Menelik, King Makonen occupied the city. He settled Saylac in 1900 , where he married Hassan's mother . Then he asked them , " in late sixties some 15 years ago where were you guys?. , they said they were young men in high school or middle school. He Told them that he composed a song called , " Dawa Bukootay"(when the medicine itself becomes sick"). Dalaalnimada Diintiyo, Dastuurka iyo Xeerka, , Hadii Dabool Sarro , Dawo Bukootay weeye. He told them, "You haven't seen nothing yet " weli laisma gaadhine , waxa jira, waxa soo socdaa ka Daran". You maybe bored by my erratic way of changing the topic in different direction, but I love telling these kind of stories. I also admire Allah ha u Naxariistee the Great Hassan Sheekh Muumin. On the economic side of the issue , the SNM community were the favored people among Somalis. Most of the regions of the country were the victims of the communist national planning economic system , which denied the citizen the free movements of goods and services. In Mogadishu, the capital and the largest Somali urban center, the economy was dominated by the government , and few connected people were allowed to import things. People needed licence to import. As a young high school student, I traveled from Djibouti, Borama , Hargeisa , Burco and latter reached Mogadishu. the markets in Hargeia were busling with trade and business. The only way I can describe was , it was a boom. In Burco were I spent about a month before I left, it was the livestock hub of Somalia. Because of the war against SSDF, Central Somalia countryside and cities were ghost towns. livestock were brought from Hiiraan and Galgaduud to Burco on their way for export in Berbera. Add all that trade and commerce with the money coming from the gulf. Somali airline had two daily flights to Hargeisa, while another one was coming directly from the gulf to Berbera. An old senior Guurti member Haji Cabdi Waraabe said " Hargeisa Hadii La Dayn Lahaa London bay Noqon Lahayd. You could pick up a bus, truck , car or any other goods from Dubai and the gulf , and bring to Berbera without licence. It was a capitalist system verses government controlled communist planning system of the south and the rest of the country. Now, If you agree my statements about those 11 years from 1969 to 1980, then we need to investigate the main reasons about the formation of the SNM movement. Personally I didn't see anything warranting a rebellion from the activities of the Kacaan against this community. I couldn't find any thing at the end of 1980 that culminated the formation of the movement in early 1981. I couldn't see any mass killings, marginalization, or economic hardship that boiled out to the open and hastened the revolt. That doesn't mean there was nothing . There could have been small little things that made people hate the system or an underlying current that was not apparent at the moment but waiting to explode. Uninformed people may mention the UFO club in Hargeisa which was arrested for organizing a civic organization and other minor incidents, but all those incidents happen after the proclamation of SNM in 1981. Late President Cigaal said that most of the mistrust in the north was created by his imprisonment. That could be true, but those who formed the rebellion were not democrats looking for change. Otherwise , they wouldn't have set up shop in a regime controlled by a ruthless communist dictator Mengistu Haile Marriam. After looking carefully, I concluded that non of these issues were about oppression , killing or marginalization. As someone who traveled the land during those boom years, I could confidently say, It was a rebellion of wealth and power, exercised by tribal hubris.. " Waxuu Ahaa Halgan Barwaaqo Keentay". In my humble opinion, some of the underlying issues that pushed the formation of movement were two small unrelated issues. One is tribal pride , the other was a narrative that fed the perception of the people that feeling under pressure from certain groups or tribes that must be defended. Still , non of thee issues could warrant a political violence. The first reason was tribal pride. the coup by Puntlanders in 1978, exposed a future tribal hegemony and mistrust of the " D" block by other Somalis. Here the kacaan came to power by coup and miliatery force , using the goodwill of the people who were disgruntled by the slow but stedy civilian administration. The corruption issue which became a national talk , and the emergence of international communism, made the public eager for change. After ten years of the Kacaan rule, the war of 1977 and the sudden appearance of tribalism and nepotism in the system, people felt disappointed of the direction of the country. By seeing the battle among two groups who belong same clan affiliation, People suddenly interpreted this as a power struggle among the 'D" block. Even famous poets like Dhoodaan lamented the hegemony of the "D" block clan. in One of his poems , he said: Dad Soomaaliya lahaa, Calaka dogaaaye Maxaa Keenay Daarood haday Dawladnimo Joogtay. In my opinion, Khaliif Sheekh mohamuud of Qandale , a desprete man who was among the SSDF, also played a big role by inciting others to join the rebellion. I did listen few verses of the poem in the eighties, but in 1999, when I listened the full poem, I was astonished how this man incited people with both polemic, hubris and discord among the Somali tribes. This man from Qandala, succeeded to rally people against the Kacaan. Here is some of his poems. Check how he is highlighting the SNM who were enjoying life at that moment while he was in the trenches. In his opinion , anyone who isn't fighting against Siyaad Barre , was uncle Tom. Habargidirta Mudug joogta ee, maashu wada fooxday Ee layska maamulanhayoo, deyrka lagu meershey The SNM community thought that the Puntlanders who may had political power in Mogadishu many years ago would not much their wealth, geographical location and political connection. Although Puntlanders dominated politics in the sixtes, their home provinces was back ward and poor in terms of development . Boosaaso was little fishing town, Mudug was ghost town after the rebellion and Garoowe was a small village. If this group can shake Siyaad Barre, why not us with vast wealth and major urban centres like Hargeis and Burco. In 1940, Mussolini said " We can't sit and fold our hands while others are making history". Well, they decided not to sit and wait while others were vying for power. The second reason was small skirmishes between the Long footed dominated WSLF ( western Somalia liberation front) and another group called " the forth division" or Afraad. In the northwest and Zone five almost every community had some kind of liberation movement od Somali Galbeed. The Awdal community had " Horyaal". Tribally motivated murders and kidnappings happened between the Afraad and the WSLF. In some instances, all kind of weapons were used in these battles. The Afraad accused the Somali army for favoring the Long Foot WSLF. Both sides executed people they captured after accusing them of rape and other crimes. Some people believe these armed groups were the early formations of the SNM. Also, the Hargeisa people resented the presence of large number of refugees in the region, accusing the government of expropriations. These Somali refugees were not only in Hargeisa, but in Hiiraan, Awdal, and south west. Their presence created a lot of business activity from the United Nations and other agencies, yet in their mind they thought that the Long Foot who were among the refugees may settle in the north. These minor issues might have carried big weight on their mind. Again In terms of political power they were on the for front. On the economic side they were booming, and on the cultural side, they ruled the airwaves. So other than seeking tribal power or hegemony, I couldn't point out any major reasons. If you dispute my conclusions, please bring your evidence to the table without emotions. .........

It is a good news. looking the video, there are two main points. One, Al-shabaab is using money for their operations. They could easily find mules to carry their logistical needs. Also, the so called Zadd service or money transfer through telephone is their life line. They don't have to meet physically their cell members or the mules. They send the money unanimously. This Zaad thing should be have banned not today but yesterday. Where does Al-shbaab getting this huge money to rent big villas in Mogadishu. If I were the intelligence community, I would have followed the money trail. The second point is these weapons , explosive jackets, and sophisticated belts are not assembled in Mogadishu. This are not stuff that non state actors could acquire easily. They are full package delivered by foreign intelligence, probably from the gulf countries or others. The government should concentrate on finding these connections. Last week a shipment of weapons were discovered at Mogadishu port. The shipment originated from China and so far no word of the company that purchased.

Debating a motion in the parliament or voting democratically is part of democracy. Intimidating, threatening and murdering them for speaking bout is really a crime that can't be allowed to continue. Here in this town we have three members of parliament who have families here and visit regularly. Friend of mine met one of them this afternoon. He asked him about C/laahi , a formal high school teacher from Sool region who has joined the parliament two years ago. He said few months ago he was shot in Mogadishu , but survived. He said armed gun men sprayed bullets in his car. After the first burst of bullets, he hid under the steering wheel, while bullets were flying around. After they left , by standers came to his aid. fortune, he was wounded lightly. He said , his only crime was speaking inside the parliament and denounce the President. It is really alarming that a mafia which is part of the president are hunting innocent people. This are not Al-shabaab related murders , but politically motivated crimes. He said this President is really out to get his opponents through criminal network that si murdering people. I am shocked really.

it is a bad system of government. co-habitation of president and prime minister without political patties holding the balance of power is a constant squabble. Expect to happen every single year. If the motion goes to the parliament, the only good that comes of this is the President stood up against foreign pressure. if you look back, the Somali leaders disputed with petty issues. prolonged and exhaustive reconciliations by Somalis and others produced no results. finally , the united Nations or someone else flew from Nairobi and all of sudden the issue was resolved. This president is playing hard ball. He rejected the foreign meddling of Somalia. he argued that these issues are solved by Somalis not outsiders. It seems he got a backbone to say no from those who pay the bill. I was one of those who thought Nicholas Kay as the President behind the curtain , but Qoslaaye proved us wrong. If he holds his ground, that is going to be a new beginning.

A divided Parliament may look like a sign of plural democracy or divided electorate after contested election. Well, the Somali federal parliament is neither a sign of politico maturity nor a democracy in action. If we carefully examine their latest maneuver to oust the prime minister, rather than democratic Pickering for supremacy, it could be classified as an Auction, where the highest bidder gets the price. Here are the reasons: 1- For the last two years , they didn't debate or introduce any legislative bill or motion to advance or to improve the laws of the land. This is the typical Somali parliament every where. In Hargeisa, from 1997 to 2005, they did not pass one single bill other than the one renewing the presidential powers. even those who were elected didn't debate or pass any meaningful motions. For ten years they passed few legislative bills, after they have been forced by the ruling party or to gain some money from the international community. They may talk about the illegality of the thing the government is doing , but they are not capable of passing any thing to stop or amend. Further more lately in Hargeisa, MPs were told by the government not to attend the parliament , so the motion to approve the election commission members may pass. They stayed away. 2- Before any motion is introduced in the parliament , it must be debated first by constitutional committees in the parliament and latter debated by the whole parliament. Bring the motion and clearly state the reason to drop the prime minister. In these cases, they usually meet in specific hotels and sign the petition of the impeachment without out the debate. After they reach the desired numbers of MPs , they declare their intensions. 3- While some may try to impeach for principle, while others are angry for the performance of the government, large number of them are bribed clearly. This President had set up the infrastructure for money laundering and corruption long time ago. He will not steal directly from the bank or the treasury. It is not a secret that he receives cash directly from the gulf. Western donor money is hard to steal. They follow a financial management protocols to save guard the money and deposit to the national bank. 4- The international community will not accept anymore this auction called Parliament to be used other than it' solemn duties. There are moves to stop this practice. Damjadiid thinks that they can fool people all the time. Believe me it is easy to find the traces of these bribes without great efforts. The United Nations representative wouldn't easily announce these allegations without a fact. He is not the monitoring or other outsiders who must justify their existence. Mr. Kay lives in Mogadishu and he is running the system. He knows. They can't have their impeachment auctions every single year. 4- These motions do not come from the parliament . They are given to them by Damjadiid. The problem of this secret society called Damjadiid is already affecting the management of the government. They must be purged from the cabinet. Same thing goes in Hargeisa. The government invites them to the house of the vice president , counts how many it needs to do their dirty job and divides the cash. Next morning sixty of them will sign the petition. Kulmiye party doesn't even have 45 members in the parliament . There is no party loyalty or principle or the respect of those who elected them. It is an auction for the highest bidder. Finally , if this folly goes on unchecked it will embolden the corrupt leaders to master this. This power hungry leaders must be forced to kiss and make as the children they are. No more auctions. If the international community want to be part of these corruption, then , there is no hope. Since you pay their salaries, force them to work together, or push both of them from the office. They must decide whether this is the people house of parliament or an auction house. It is time.

Nin Yaaban, as libaax said , it is hard to see the fine print. One thing I know is Baile in 2011, made about $ 125,000 dollars as a senior vice President of African development back, based in Tunis , Tunisia, and a high level executive for 15 years. I thought two or three hundred dollars to cheat hotel meals were disgrace for his position. about the nepotism, all the people appointed either Ambassadors or ministry directors , there is one single lady from Awdal. There is no one single Awdal community ambassador. Here they even put Huseen Ceelaabe, a parliamentarian who was the foreign minister during A/laahi Yusuf government. He has no business in the ministry. The biggest game that is going on in Muqdishu is the power struggle between Prime Minister C/weli and Qoslaaye. This Prime minister has done a lot to improve the system of government and accountability. At the same time he identifies the saboteurs in the cabinet. He didn't eliminate then totally but, reassigned them in other ministries to minimize their betrayals. The junior " Kadir' who is feeding these information is a well placed Damjadiid. He was the man Former Minister Fawsia Aadan said to be in Dubai for qoslaaye. One more thing. This President is very clever and dangerous in terms of corruption and blackmail. Everyone is watching at National Bank and treasury to protect money in order to prevent cash withdrawals , and corruption to bribe members of the parliament. but Qoslaaye doen't need that money. His money comes from the gulf, then deposited with Salaama Bank in Djibouti controlled by Ahmed Jimcaale ( Former Al-Barakaat), then it is transferred by Hawala in Mogadishu and to the palace. There is no trace from the government institutions. What I know is there is bigger fish to be fried in Mogadishu. There suppose to be a new offensive targeting the business warlords and others in Mogadishu, after Al-shabaab. In 2015, this prime minister was planning to start major confrontation with the likes of " Telecom" owners and others. They started last summer, but Qosaaye stopped them. Can you imagine that there are people who make $ 15-25,000,000 a year from using the "252" Somali aerial code. They control the Somali area code with Belgium and London based companies after the state collapse. This mafia is strong and must be defeated or they will keep stranglehold of Somalia for another decade. Having said that Mr. C/raxman Baile must answer these accusations.
-
This is really ugly for A/raxman Beyleh. I thought he was better than this. He must answer al this questions. I would like to add that we also need the circumstances of this bills. The reason I am raising this is that the man who released all this information is the former deputy foreign minister Mr. Mohamed Hassan. A young Damuljadiid " Kaadir", who was deputy of the minister of finance under Prime minister Saacid. he was the man waiting Usur Abraar in Dubai to open the off shore account for the President. Baile ordered him not to enter the ministry anymore, since he was transferred to another ministry by the Prime mister when he shuffled the cabinet two weeks ago. He is part of the war between the prime minister and Qoslaaye. Qoslaaye said " continue your jobs". . He is Daahir Calasow Kin, so he is releasing information that are mixed and related all the activities of the ministry and cheques singed by Baieh. Bailey was living in that hotel foe almost six months, and also receiving foreign diplomats and others. . On the issue of nepotism and other accusations , they are all HAG campaign to discredit him . The Minister is close to Yuuka so they are attacking him for that reason. I need more to confirm this.

Young guns, hold your horses. Dowries are one of the fundamental rights Allah has given women clearly in the Quran. Even in the early years, Cumar B. Khadaab, Radiyallahu Canhu, tried to set a limit of the dowry women seek from men. At the mosque, A woman stood up and denuded that " how can you set a limit something Allah has explicitly stated in the Quran for women". Comar said " I made mistake she is correct". End of story. In the modern times , mostly girls or families who came from the gulf countries usually demand large sum of money or expensive jewelleries for dowry. They are probably asking this for future financial security or cultural reasons. Having said that, some times, there is a method to the madness. In your case, I think things are not as bad as you may think. If she is willing to discuss the dowry gift before her hand was given to you, there is a good news. Ask her the main reason she is asking this huge amount. People who love one another could resolve this issues easily. Do not be discouraged, find out the reason behind this. " Malaha waa hadh Xidhaale". When I was asking the hand of my wife, me the Sheikh and few people on my side went to the house of my future wife for the lawful engagement ( Meher). When we discussed about the dowry, she told me take one thousand dollars and A Quran Kitaab to the local mosque. It was easy. Then suddenly things changed. Her family wanted someone else to marry her. Although latter , that person ended up with a lot of mess in his later life. Ant way, I suddenly showed up and stole her heart. We were in love and no one can stop that. When the Sheikh asked the Guardian ( who was her uncle), how much is the dowry ?, He raised up stares to ask the girl who were sitting there with other female friends and family. When he asked , She said The Kitaab and one thousand,. He said " that is not much, and he put words in her mouth and said " why not say five thousand". Adeer Candaaan Joognaaye shan kun Miyaad iska dhahdid". She said okay. When he came back he said "five thousand". I was little bit surprised, but since he didn't probably liked me , I assumed that he pressured her. Any way, it is not necessary to pay the dowry immediately unless there is a divorce. I already paid half my dowry debt about ten years ago with Jewellery and I didn't decided yet when I will pay the rest. The moral of the story is that there is always something about women that may surprise you. Also, it is well known that Somali family members especially women, Sometimes aren't interested about the future of the person who they preparing his/her marriage. Lately, we have seen mothers breaking families for extravagant weddings. How can a family that starts life with $20,000 dollars of debt will build their future. Reason with her , explain her that you are building a future together that is bigger than money. good luck.

There is no reason to fire the Prime Ministry. He didn't break the law nor did he became incompetent. Under his command the system is functioning well, al-shabaab is cornered , the intelligence agencies are on the offensive capturing and taking the war to them. if there is an impeachment what is the reason behind it or what would be the allegations. You can't impeach the prime minister for disagreeing or shuffling the cabinet. if he is abusing his power, then fix the problem and reason with him. for the interest of the Somalis , Mr. President swallow your ego and pride and work with this man. or else ' labadiinuba waad dhaafatsaan ummadda. Somalia can't have a prime minister every single year. that is unacceptable. if impeachment comes both of them will leave.

Boondheere, that is good point. They were looking cheap propaganda shots to denigrate and endanger a decent scholar who is simply trying to advance the Islamic thoughts of his era . Khadaafi you raised a good point about renewal and discussion. I wish I could brilliantly write and express in English as most of you. Yesterday, I met one of our local sheiks who is a well respected in the city. He helps our community bury the dead through the local mosques and government agencies and he regularly visits prisons for Somali youth. After few chats , I began my usual Al-shabab condemnation and other issues in Somalia. I told him that while Al-shbaab is defeated militarily , the religious and political infrastructure that created the environment must be also eliminated in order not to allow them to come back. At the same time the ideological leaders of the movement who physically didn't take the gun but nurtured these people must be exposed and pushed out from the public sphere unless they repent the destruction their Wahabi ideologies caused the Somali people for the last eight or more years. He agreed with me about these thoughts, but when I mentions about this book written by Scholar A/saciid ismacill, he said " Adeer nin wanaagsan baad tahay oo wax badan fahmaya, laakiin waxaan ku odhan lahaa yaan lagaa maqlin ninki galbeedi ahaa ayaa bugaas amaanaya ama qoraagan ku raacsan waxa uu qoray'. basically he said do not mention that book if you want to be taken seriously by your community. besides his family who are in gaalkacayo will kill him as soon as they see him ". After few exchanges I told him ' sheikh read the book before you judge'. I would like to tell everyone of you to read the book before you judge. . I also would like to thank brother Nuune for uploading the book in sol. Having almost read the whole book , I could say that I have gained a great deal of knowledge and insight about Islam and our culture. Through this book I realized how little I knew about the science and the vast Islamic literature collected by scholars throughout centuries. I realized how rich is the Islamic justprudience and literature as compared to others. When extremists talk about Islamic Sharia, all you hear is chopping hand from a poor who stole something or a woman stoned in the land controlled by them. You don't see reasoning, mercy or the conditions that created the problem. We don't have real Ullema who have the interest of their communities and their nation , what we have is robots who want to have power over others and want to punish people. It seems the most ruthless sociopaths carrying " qori iyo Kitaab". DR. C/saciid explained the taboo subjects that Arabs and others wouldn't like to discuss. it shows the brilliance and philosophical thoughts of early scholars like Immam Shafici, Sufian al-Towri, hanafi and others. Sifting through this fourteen century years old knowledge is needed specialized scholars of great knowledge. decently it is not something UMmal, or Sheikh Idris and others who are " Bayd gaab' warmongers could handle. By accepting his argument , they will be exposed to answer the blood they spilled in Somalia while backing war against Somali state. The idea of the Amir using religion to punish or reward people were in my mind for a long time. I discussed with few people of knowledge. it is difficult to find a place to exchange ideas in our culture. Look at the latest example of al-shabaab. The Amir killed or put in prison everyone who had different reasoning than his. In order to save these man from ruthless Sheikhs like Ummal , who already created a hostile environment for this scholar and his family we must speak out and urge people to read the book and make their mind. I wish we could invite him in North America so we can gain some knowledge from him and expose the liars who are spreading mischief.

in any issue , there are exceptions to the rules. I do not think we can judge this issue on the behaviour of few individuals who for engage hatred against Islam for publicity and material gains. For example Ayaan hersi, was even refused to make lectures in many well known American universities. she was a daughter of educated and well known family, yet she presented herself as a someone who was forced marriage and abused. She is exploited by right wing islamophopic groups. this is un exception to the rule. your laws and customs must reflect your culture and faith, while upholding fundamental rights of the individuals. Here in Canada we have hate speech laws that protects people from being targeted and abused. it says you can't incite hate or promote hatred against un identified group that may lead to harm. I know in America and other places, devilish entertainment industry and others target or mock Jesus. We know the freedom of the speech which the American founding fathers intended to challenge the tyranny of the rulers and public debate , have been used throughout the world to insult faith and prophets. Every nations democracy reflects it's own values. Somalia won't be different. The main issue here isn't about debate, it is interpreting Hadith and the Quran in a way that makes the life of Muslims unbearable. I suggest to you to read carefully the chapters about politics and religion. I think decent Muslims should address this constant spilling of the blood for power, while using religion. The main cause is , a band of extremists could decide who is not following the Sharia. fundamental rights ingrained in the Quran are discarded favoring weak or disputed Hadith for certain segments to have power over others. Following these harsh interpretations Al-Baghdadi of ISIS will be the all knowing Amir that couldn't be challenged. He will be acting as infallible Amir and he will rule until he dies, just like the kings of the Arab world. We should not afraid of moderation. The religion is mercy, tolerance and forgiveness, not oppression and hardship. please read carefully the book.
