No need for that long post. Nuune, you still haven't explained what happened to my first post on this thread. Waa nin afka laga falay:eek:
  2. Haatu;976734 wrote: Afartanbax? Putting baby on shoulders ? Alpha ina adeer, what is this khuraafaad ay Durriyadda ku kacday? We call it gardaadin and as Alpha said it is indeed an ancient Duriyada culture:D
  3. Haatu;976827 wrote: What humiliation? Get off your high horses. Where was your humiliation when you were hacking each other for twenty years? Receiving payment through fingerprints is ingenious and corruption proof. If I had a company I would use this system as well. The only way someone can steal someone else's mushaar is if they cut his/her finger off which is very unlikely. I applaud this move. Well said.
  4. @Mad Mullah, Where did you find the history passage?
  5. Wadani;976747 wrote: Alla Siyaad Barre maxaa loo darsaday. Waxaanoo dhan madaxa ayuu ka guri lahaa. Geesi waddani ah ayuu ahaa wallaahi, unlike these shameless political prostitutes. That is utter rubbish. Everyone knows Siyaad Barre was the father of corruption who concentrated all the former nation's meagre revenues in the hands of his family and clan cronies.
  6. Thanks Ditoore for this thread. It exposes the seriously high level of incompetence and corruption within the Somaliland government. You might have posted it for a sinister reason but it is needed nevertheless.
  7. nuune;976816 wrote: ^^ Why do you think so, by having Shabaab Members and former Shabaab Members in one place! Peace can only be achieved through genuine talks amongst all the hostile parties. These guys may be Alshabaab but they are also Somalis who have a stake in whatever happens in their land. I would not single out Alshabaab as the only enemies of peace in Somalia as Somalia's problems are caused and sustained by all sorts of individuals and groups. So having Alshabaab on the table just like we do with warlords and clans is a positive step.
  8. Wadani;976743 wrote: The Somalis of that time were of a different breed. Somalis today are almost unrecognizable, as they share no traits with the Somalis of yore. No the Somalis did not change but just the times have. On the one hand, the Dervishes of yesteryears were like the Alshabaab of today both in clan composition and in character, misguided and killing their own, but also fighting to death any foreign power that sets foot on their land. And on the other hand we had a myriad of administrations and clans just like those of today who had all sorts of foreign "friends" and "allies" on their side.

I wasted listening all these geeljiriyaal, expecting mid hadal quman dhiibto. Waa wada qiireysanyihiin. Waad iska hadashay saaxiib. These guys have spoken well and intelligently and put their arguments across with eloquence. Not only have they expressed their disappointment at the abrupt departure of the energy company but they also questioned their own government's and fellow citizen's role in this debacle and demanded any future negotiations with foreign firms be done with transparency and accountability. You don't find such balanced, opinionated, and open-minded populace elsewhere in the Somali speaking world.
  10. This must be a scene right out of a horror movie for him;)

  14. Your title is wrong ditoore. It is the Liberal coalition and not the incumbent Labour which won the election.
  15. Mad_Mullah;976305 wrote: So because they're more tribal they're more violent? That's nonsense. Bring facts saxib. Fact is Somaliland tribe as soon as they toppled the government worked together - created an army/police/government etc. the HAG started fighting one another like animals - destroying mosques/government/cultural buildings - hospitals - houses anything and everything like savages. Garowe got their shit together to. Saying the North is worse is like saying there's more freedom in North Korea than South Korea. I think you are not aware of the maryo alool war in Somaliland in the mid 1990's when the Habros went berserk. Wadani has a point because indeed Northern tribalism scares the life out of me. The Southerners might be passionate anarchists but the Northerners from Gaalkacayo upwards are Pharaohnic in their following of the clan. Hargeisa is basically a collection of clan ghettoes with Berlin walls between them. And Burco has a wall which can rival that of the West Bank.

  20. Summary of his policies: Puntland will have the right to determine its internal and external policies Puntland should have a say in the affairs of all the other federal states Puntland should be consulted by the federal government about every little thing Puntland should a say about the appointment of every federal minister and prime minister Puntland should set the internal and external policies of the federal government and never the other way round. Puntland will have all its resources to itself but should have a share of the federal government revenues Puntland should be the temple where every federal government official pays homage to and takes orders religiously Puntland should make the federal government and all the other federal states in its image, just like the Christian creation doctorine really;) I really like Faroole, he is a capable politician

  22. ^ Revenue generating infrastructure projects like airports and seaports are good things but they should be treated as a means to an end, which is to get the economy growing and standard of life improving. However, it seems the people of Djibouti are not seeing any benefits trickling down from those investments which is really sad.
  23. I like how mega-sized ina Guulleh uu kursiga ugu baraaqo:p Seriously Somali politicians should lose some of their massive flab. They should cut down on their daily intake of hilib iyo baruur and hit the gym.
