What is lacking is TRUST. But one wonders how is all this going to be achieved if the political leaders in Mogadishu keep pretending to represent the people of Somaliland with their hand picked and illegitimate placeholders!

About 1.1 million people registered to vote. Remember we are not talking about North Korea but a free society where citizens are not forced to register. Of the roughly four million inhabitants, a very large section is surely under the age of 15 who wouldn't be eligible to register for voting. Another sizeable section of the society would also not bother to stand in the awfully long queues under the blazing sun. Probably some people are even Covid conscious and wouldn't be anywhere near crowds.
