I wish that was true, but Somali women are even more tribalist than men. I'm all for giving them 1/2 of all positions, they earned it and more but I'm not naive enough to think that will change things dramatically.

What do you expect? The south is dependent on foreign troops, and the Juba was formed as power play by the Kenyans and their allies. If AMISOM suddenly decided to withdraw I'd expect far bigger demonstrations as the terrorists will recapture everything in few months.

I don't think there will be a civil war in Somaliland if they separated but there will be some skirmishes for resources. It could turn into a civil war if they went full Somali mode and the sub clan multiparty democracy went out of control.
