  1. The preparation is getting serious it seems. There was another news yesterday about fund-raising for the upcoming battle. http://www.laasqoray.net/view_article.php?articleid=6148
  2. ^^ Xudeedi, wasiirka maxaad u casishay awoowe? Hopefully that was a mistake on your part.
  3. Most of the folks attacking him in that so-called "debate" bench were just bloviating politicians with nothing ingenious to bring to the table; a problem that is so emblematic of desperate politicians trying to stop the tide. Griffith found his forte already, and support for the BNP will most likely amplify even further now that the “champion of British values” was delivered an early "Christmas present" by the BBC on prime time. There are serious issues in Britain. Unless those are acknowledged and addressed, the native Brits will seek alternative torchbearers to the cast their vote for.
  4. Good to see the old man back to do some charity. Vacating seat democratically is a rare commodity in maryooley circles. Cadde's tenure may have been brief and sometimes tumultuous, but his personal courage was truly monumental.
  5. Just upgraded my home office network. Speed, speed, speed!!!!! You will be trying to catch up as if you added 8GB or new ram. Cool! Check what folks are saying about Widows 7 http://www.microsoft.com/windows/social/
  6. Dhallinyaro, munaaqashooda idinkoo madaxa ruxaya. Yaan laysku talax tegin oo gacan ka hadalka halaga tanaasulo. Gabballoow, halkaa ka wad Sarreeye. Hay hay hay, weligaa hay!!!! Allamaganoow, ina ayeeyo ku cafiyay J11 madaxiis. Waxaad igu daldashayna haddee waad ogtahay oo marna Libaax kugu dal dali mahayo.
  7. Gabbal, you have posted a news briefing article which shows hints that Siyaad may have been plotting to overthrow the government way before the actual date. Not much else is there awoowe. Somali tribes were armed to the teeth since the era of the Mad Mullah. Yes corruption was there, but whatever that was there became nothing after Siyaad Barre introducted his brand of corruption. Your spin is noted! Having said that, I would stay away from clan accusations in this discussion awoowe.
  8. Jamaaloow, combination is the key here and I think we all agree. I don't believe Somalia in the 1960s was more "corrupt" than present Kenya. Adde, Sharmarke and Egal and Abdirashid were not more corrupt than the average politicians. If progress wasn't halted by dictatorship, the nation would have been on full sprint towards development. Dictatorship coupled with severe corruption destroyed minds, halted ambitions, delayed progress and left a horrible legacy of unprecedented chaos for future generations.
  9. Originally posted by J11: The corruption was so disgusting that the military junta had to act Jamaaloow, corruption actually became the most disgusting during Siyaad Barre. Corruption is what ultimately destroyed Siyaad's goverment. loool.

  11. Corruption = Kenya Dictatorship = Zimbabwe Chaos = Somalia. Pick one boys, and run with it.
  12. We should judge our leaders on the "NET POSITIVES" they leave behind. What did they inherit vs. the country and legacy they leave behind. Siyaad Barre inherited a young, stable fledgling democracy full of hope and promise. The day Siyaad left Gedo and went to Nigeria, there was nothing left of that country. Watch this video of Mogadishu in the 1960s before Siyaad Barre came to power. Most of the "metrics of development" you listed are there including the birth of the Af-Soomaali (which is surprisingly your first item on the list. ) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BDkh2xYuKv8 Siyaad Barre, Ilaahay ha u naxariisto. Sadly many worse ones came after him.

  14. Wonderful show indeed. It has the look of a world class institution. Thanks Gheelle.
  15. ^^lool@run. And I was expecting some sort of a "this animal must be fried alive" comment. SOL girls have become so mellow these days.
  16. There are many good sisters in London. Please contact SOL sisters and I am sure all of them will be helpful in this process. I would hate to see you get ripped off by a stalking criminal.

  18. "Six months" for a guy who didn't kill anyone is not bad for justice in that part of the world. The government had no evidence against this man, other than that he didn't show up for the funeral. (There was only "tuhun" of some sort that the former governor knew something since the killers were from his sub-clan)) I say the system is working boys.
