  1. ^Ahaan jirey, waxaan ka wacan waxan baan hadda ahay ama haystaa. Soomaali baa tahay, Soomaali kalena kaama liito. Iska ilow fikirkan aan fiicneyn ee reerkayagaa reerkiina ka fiican. Anaga oo idil Soomaali baynu nahay, isku mid baynu nahay. Wax faraq ah oo Salaadiinteena, Malaaqyadeena, Ugaasyadeena, Nabaddoonadeena etc u dhaxeeyaa ma ay jiraan. 20-sano ayaanu dhib iyo jab dhex taagana, sababta keentay oo fikirka noocan oo kale ah. Allah-ha ku tuso inaad ka weynaato, walaal. Waxaan rajeynayaa inaanan kugu xadgudbin, umana jeedin, ujeedkeyguna maaha inaan ku daandaansado ee markaan arkay qoraalkaaga ayaan go'aansaday inaan ka jawaabo qoraalka.
  2. as a Mullah in a whorehouse! Bal Faruur maxaa Berbera geeyey isaga?.
  3. But because I know Somalis such as yourself enjoy and would rather read and comprehend the input of foreign than an opinion of a Somali. That's generalisation, sxb. Not all Somalis see the white mens' words as gospel. I couldn't care what he said about Somalia or Somaliland. I would rather that they don't visit as the greater number of them carry with them an ulterior motives when they visit muslim lands. I don't care a bit at all. But this regionalisation mentality of Somalis is sick and I hate it.
  4. The Interview of this British fellow was in the Free London Metro yesterday. I read it, and when I saw that bit, where he said, 'the only place I would like to go back to was Somaliland', I knew that a hardline Somalilander would put it up here to say look this white fellow has been to Hargeisa and would even like to go back! Haha! By all means, be proud of your region/where you've come from, but like MMA said, there's no pride in the plight of your brother next door. I have said it before, and I will say it again, I'm delighted and happy for the Waqooyi Galbeed acheivement in law and order and long may it continue, BUT broader perspective is really important here. Even your GAAL neighbour doesn't deserve this sort of treatment. You wouldn't gloat over their plight. The situation in the south of Somalia is/should be a pain that we all feel deeply and should be hoping beyond that Allah brings back peace and stability for the children, mothers, elders, and the disabled who have to suffer everyday through the hardship.
  5. ^Waar reer Hargeisa iyo Waqooyi Galbeed midna ma ihiye, Illaahow wixii dhib ah ka hay oo tus in dantoodu nabada ku jirto, insha Allah. Waa dhul Soomaaliyeed iyo dad Soomaaliyeed oo nabad ehe, Allow u siyaadi.
  6. Crazy as it may seem, it's generally safer than being reliant on machines and not using your mind (I don't necessarily mean this particular junction). They've recently done a research in Holland where they've taken down the traffic lights at junction in a town (don't remember the town), there was less accidents and traffic flow has improved. So it is not always that traffic lights and being run by some system is good in driving. I have to admit though, most people in the Gulf drive a bit dangerously. I've seen a fellow, with my own eyes, driving whilst reading the Quran (the musxaf on the steering wheel). Though, I admired the act, I didn't like the carelessness much. But then again, whatever Allah wills, will be. No amount of care would spare anything or anybody.
  7. Ciid Mubaarak dhamaantiin. Alle dhibka haka qaado dadka Soomaaliyeed. Rabbi dhulkeena (Soomaaliya) nabad ha inooga dhigo, hana naga yeelo kuwii ku ciida Ciidan ciideeda dhulkeenii hooyo oo nabad ah, aamiin.
  8. horta how easy is it to go to heaven in your world? How many battles did he take part in? How many victories did he garner? How many battalions did he defy? How many muslims let alone somali benefit from his attack on un armed people in a hotel in a third world country? With such a mentality no wonder al shabaab think xasuuq shacabka is the high way to heaven! Dirty fella got capped go blow your self up at a local municipal pool if you wish to meet him. Ramadan baa lugu jiraa maahine, waa kuu ab tirin lahaa. Either way, hadaan ku kala tagno, adigana diintaa, aniguna diintay, ka waran? Mise waxaad tahay kuwa wax ku garta in madaxa laga garaaco mooyee aan garan, war na kala daa, adiguna Rabigaa anna kay? Bottom line is, na kala day.
  9. What better day to day than the last ten days of Ramdan Saa'iman Lillaah. This isn't a setback,in fact it is a win. In the light of the hadeeth of the prophet, the mu'min is a winner in every which way. Illaahow Jannadaadii fardowsa meesheeda ugu sareysa gee muslimiintaa xaqdarada lagu dilay. Amiin.
  10. Jizaaka Allah kheyr for the reminder. It goes to show that this deen is nothing but Nicma mina Laah for his servants.
  11. The response from all the Somali fellas here should have been: Thanks to our wonderful, wonderful Somali sisters. You're wonderful and we're grateful to have you! Ileyn, Al-ixsaanu ilal ixsaan maaha? Alxamdu Lillaah, it is refreshing and be a Utiful to hear Somalis love and respect each other. After all, we're just one family.
  12. War hala guursadooy, wixii aan wali guursan. Guurku waa kheyr.
  13. Investment in brick and mortar, waxaa ka fiican investing in your own people's know-how. Say there was a war, Allah forbid, and all these building were levelled to the ground, and the petro-dollars aren't there any more, would the Emiraties be able to bring the place back to its glorious past? See, it is all about depth and strength.
  14. Assalaama Allaikum Solers. Don't know if you guys are aware of this, but there is a demonstration by the said group at the Harrow mosque today at 5pm. It is fools up to no good. The point of this post is the general advice for the muslims is to stay away. In other words, deprive their little movement of oxygen. In any case, we're fasting, so this people shouldn't get the better of us. They have timed this on 9/11 ane during Ramadan. It is obviously deliberately planned. Please be aware and don't add to their stup!dity. Thank you all. Salaama allaikum.
  15. "I like beains." - You like beans!? Cajiib. What next? lol. Good luck.
  16. It has given me Gold, but I don't believe in these sort of gimmicks. These sort of put the person in a corner, and the human is not that predictable. You could be one thing in one situation, and could totally be different in a different situation.
  17. I think he's from Somalia or maybe other Muslim African country, but he is amazing, brings tears to your eyes too. Qalbun Qaashi'an baa Alle siiya. Allahumaj calil Quraana rabiica quluubinaa, Yaa xakiim, amiin.
  18. NGONGE, bro, I am not having a go at the Mufti, if my writing has come across as such, I take it back, but the point that I was trying to make was that I would rather that the Mufti err on the side of caution (Shaafi'i sort of way) than make it easier for us to the point of dilluting the deen. Don't get me wrong, I am not in a position to criticise a Mufti at all. But like the other Sheikh in the article said, Rasuulu-Laah laid down the conditions with which one can forgo from fasting clearly, and this does go beyond that. Correct me If I am wrong. Deen is 'ibaada, sometimes it is not suppose to be easy, but not detrimental to your health or wellbeing either. Allah is Rahman. Aniga iyo chuckling at fatwas maxaa iskaga kaaya dan ah!
  19. Maasha Allah, SOLers have truely become a tight-nit community. It's really beautiful. If only all Somalis would pull together wherever there's a problem. And God knows we have more than our share. Walaal, xisnul muslimka soo qabso oo akhri adkaarta la xariirta marka amuur adagi kusoo wajahto. Xaalka adduuna Alle u daa, insha Allah. Allah ha kuu fududeeyo. Salaama calaykum.
  20. ^How do you know they fast? I know some of them are said to be practicing muslims, but you never know, and I am not negating your point, though. If we listen and heed to everything that any Mufti or non - Mufti for this matter says, we will be confused. It is for this that we muslims should LEARN our deen so that we suffice ourselves of the basics of Islam, you know. So that we don't run off to the nearest Mufti everytime we're faced with a dilemma. I would have thought that If the Egyptian team would go into the match fasting, they would perform much better, I think. Everytime one's performing 'ibaada for Allah's sake, Allah will be by his side. Remember, Muhammad (SCW) use to fast for two days consecutively, and prohibited the Ummah from doing so, because he said, 'I am being fed by Allah'. I'm not saying surely they'd been fed by Allah, by you never know. Allah might have given them that extra oomph they require to win the game. Mufti isku sheegani maanay Alle ka baqayn, horta?
  21. It was a beautiful poem. Thanks for sharing.
  22. Interesting. I was listening to BBC's Mark Doyle covering this very subject the other night without of course, the very sophisticated economic theory overtones discussed here. He was going through Africa and Africans and was asking this very question. The answers were really interesting. It ranged from: 1. Injustice (in the sense that the average African doesn't feel he/she will be treated right in his daily dealings etc as result becomes despondent) 2. Corruption/political ly corrupted leaders 3. Nepotism (Africans would vote for a politician as long as he/she is from their ethnicity) 4. Colonial footprints in relation to Education (not being creative, simply cramming up subjects and delivering result rather than being creative in what you study) It was fascinating. You can listen to it on the bbc world service website. But the undeniable fact is, Africa not poor, but it is poorly managed. AFrica is yet to give birth to a leader that can see outside the box. A selfless individual that doesn't enrich himself/herself with the riches of the people and the country. Someone with a broader aspirations. My apologies if I am blabbing.
  23. "Ejaculation voids the fast even if it was just due to kissing, hugging, or masturbation, and the day must be made up. If the ejaculation was due to looking at or thinking about something, then it is like having a wet dream during the day and it, therefore, does not void the fast nor is there any requirement on the person." I just found this from Islamonline.com. A very good and trustworthy site. Hope it suffices.
  24. This is really sad. May Allah have His mercy on our people. The Dhadhaab camp was initially intended for 100,000 people and now there are over 300,000. Illaahow Somaali u naxariiso.
  25. Why do people ask the obvious!? Cuz this clearly is in that territory. Hint: if in doubt, you were suppose to stay away.
