  1. Aaliyah, Kalaankal waa hilibka suqaarka, but not prepared the same way as suqaar! *Does that even make sense?* N'way, waa hilibka suqaarka oo saliid iyo basal kaliya lagu shiilay oo la gaduudiyay oo aan dheecaan iyo maraq iyo waxba leheen... Today on the menu is sabaayad, tandoori chicken and qudaar gooni loo kariyay...I'm being asked to make sambuus, but all the hassle isn't worth it, so I'll just pick it up from the maqaayad on the way home later...

Ciyaal maama yaashaan maa dooro kaliifkeed usheegee? lol I usually don't bother with suxuur...I just can not wake up in the middle of the night to eat and go back to sleep...But do drink lots of water throughout the night... Had my mom's famous kalaankal and malawax for afur yesterday...Mango shake-na waan ku dajiyay... Couldn't be bothered with the baasto iyo suugo iyo steak...No suxuur again last night, I'm seeing doubles now...Si bey maanta iiga wareersan tahay...
  3. So there's still hope for doob dilaac {this includes gabdhaha xataa} yaasha SOL yaah? I joke, I joke! MMA, big congrats! May allah shower your union with many of his blessings...Africa waxa intaas kuugu dhajiyay Sheikha kaliya inuu eheen waan iska ogaa...Congrats again...
  4. Better than boqolaal Soomaali ah who seem iney xabadka tuntaan uun with no action! Bless her!
  5. XX, Somaliland, Somaliland, Somaliland! SOMALILAND EVERYWHERE miyey sheekadu gaadhsiisan tahay walaalo? Don't mind these Konfurians, iney kugu dheelaan bey ugu baxdaa! Nuunka, adigoo yar hadaa heerkaas gaarsiisneed, kuwa hada ku ag joogaan u naxsanahay... Ar too kale aanba xasuustay, wiilasha dhihi jiriin adi liin dhanaantaada heblo kuweedaa ka weyn...Markaaseey intey cambuurka ama shaatiga eywadato isku dhajiso dhihi jirtay "liin dhanaan teyda mayarooooooo"... Sheemo dheh!

  9. Although I wouldn't call it 'angry rants', I kind of agree with InaJaad on this one... As frustrated as you are with the lack of help from our people, meesha baad iyo qasab ma jirto... So many of us want to help, but don't know where to start or which organization to trust...For me, regardless of the amount donated, I want to make sure at the end of the day it is getting to those in need... Kheyr Allaha kaa siiyo for what you and many others are doing for our people...
  10. Most Somalis are rude! Even their body language is rude...I'm glad I am not in a field where I have to deal with dadkeena on daily basis! Igu soo roor ma'aha... With that said, most nurses I came across have not been on the nice side either...I find most of them to be rude, impatient and insensative at times...Some even lack a sense of professionalism...Marka waa isku fiican yihiin, or as I like to say it "jug iyo mac ee isku yihiin"!
  11. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAA @Mujahid Caydiid who freed Xamar! I must've missed that memo, markii la daabacay... Alloow unaxariiso intii dhimatay... Abwaan, I'm with you in the sense that with the current situation our people are facing, Biijoole has no business inuu munaasibadaan ka qeyb qaato! Ps, for the record, I'd take Biijoole any day over Ceydiid (AUN)!
  12. LOOOOL @Curis...Goormaa iigu dambeysay kalmadaas... NG, heh-daa uun ha gurinee, bal fiirso marka hore...

  14. Wax aan ku fiicanahay ma'aha markey noqoto caawimaada dadkeena... Juxa, no time waanba fahmee, conflict of interest-na maxaa keenay? If you don't mind me asking... For many of us, no time is the greatest excuse! I am in no way implying that Juxa cadeey is giving us excuses, laakiin that was my first thought too when I read this topic...
  15. ^ Tolka are all here in full force yaah! I think what people are trying to say is that a simple yes/no would've sufficed it, instead of his first response...And that's probably the reason he was asked a couple of times in the interview... Caku iyo tolka iyo difaacooda!
  16. Gaal hala dilo iyo caawimaadiisa waan rabnaa labo meel wada gasha ma'aha! As the saying goes "afMuslim mise afGaal" hala yimaadaan...
  17. Saado, jir oo joog! Mansha'allah... Ps, ani miyaa mise Ahmed Naji looks like a native Hawaiian with his fiyoore around his neck? Love him nonetheless!
  18. It seems like we go through this every year...Some say "Happy Independence Day Somalia", others say "Are we really independent?" "What is there to celebrate" "Should we be really celebrating with the current situation in Somalia"...Naga dhaafa ka jajabiska! Kowda Luulyo iyo farxadeeda lagama wada maanta tan ka taagan wadankeena...Waa maalin mudan in lagu farxo lana xuso loona dabaaldago kuwii usoo huray/dagaalamay/dhintay inaan madax baani helno!
  19. *Blessed;731055 wrote: Dhaqankeena places strong emphasis on family and to me a guy who chooses to live with his parents is a family orientated sort of man which is what you want. I don't know how living on your own prepares you for life with another? Living with my family has taught me a lot about tolerance, sabr and balancing life, work and family. While I agree with you on so many levels, laakiin there has to come a time when it is time to try to make it on our own! Specially if you're in your mid-late 30s...There's something very puzzling about a mid-late 30s male who still lives at home oo hooyadiis wili digsi u walaaqeysa...At the very least one of his accomplishments should be making it on his own in his own home... When one moves away from home, they become responsible for everything in their life, be it something as little as the grocery list...Living at home, many of us don't worry about bills/food/shelter/etc...Kuweena ugu fiican will contribute in taking part of the chores and financially, if working...It is a whole new world trying to make it on your own, specially with a roommate...Marka living on your own before marriage teaches one a new level of compromise/dulqaad/etc., because you're no longer in the comfort of those whom you've been around all of your life...Living with a stranger (someone you haven't lived with before) can be very challenging, what better way than experiencing it before guur?
  20. Bal Aaliyaay, if I may ask, why would you prefer a guy who lives alone rather than the one who still lives at home?
  21. Taleexi, looool...Waa lagu waabsaday...Booqashada waa mid la'isku leehay, usheeg Aaliya...Gabar kaligeed dagan waa in laga warhaayo dheh oo lasoo booqdo... Aaliyah, adi horta "haram" maxaa ugu boodaa? Naga daa dee! Someone coming to visit you doesn't have to be wax xun hadaad kaligaa dagan tahay... Women, Somali women specially, should experience to live alone before they get married...From dear parents' home to marriage dhibaato weyn beey dad badan ukeentay...Nimankana waa iney iyagana kaligood dagaan, oo nololshoodu dhistaan si gooni ah, away from parents/siblings...Ka carara kii idin yiraahdo "lacag baan ku aruursan"! Waligeedna lacagta ma ururto, isagana meel uma dhaqaaqo... As for the articles posted, the author of the 2nd article just sounds such a dhoocil...Don't if it is her style of writing or something else...
  22. Jimco wanaagsan dhamaan...It is such a s.l.o..o..o..o..o..w day for me today! Juxa, Soomaali maa insurance co u set up gareynee? Intaadan officeka furin aaba bankruptcy galee...
  23. Dahabo maalinkii kugu horeysay oo ay ku qaniintay bey eheed iney ilkaha kaa dhex bixiso oo ay ku goosato! WTH is leave me alone? As I tell my daughter "don't push/pull/bite anyone" BUT "if someone pushes/pulls/bites you, DO IT RIGHT BACK TO THEM, then tell the teacher"... Mansha'allah, NG fariid baa tahay...Not many Somali men would do the wonderful job you're doing with and for Dahaba...Ilaahay ha'idiin fududeey...She's a clever little lady... About first day of school, they put me in grade 8 when we arrived in Canada...Alloow alle, they paired me with this girl, who was one of popular ones in the class to show me around...N'way, she opened and held a door for me, so going through it I said "tankiyuu"...Didn't she just STOP, looked at me with eyes wide open and for everyone to hear said "YOU SPEAK ENGLISH?" And then, there was my Ukrainian friend who also didn't speak english, but we always managed to play and speak to one another, yes we spoke...Just don't ask waxaan ku hadli jirnay...Alla maxeey fries iga dhameysay qumayada! "can I have one" "can I have two" "can I have three" uun bey gurijirtay...
