Sayidka killed and displaced my grandfather's family from their ancestral territory. Only my grandfather who was a baby at the time and his sister survived. They went to Berbera and then moved down to Beled Weyne. It is fair to criticize him but his overall goal is worthy honoring. And for Somaliland, it is politically smart thing to do if you want the Harti to embrace this project. And despite what Dhulos (my reer abti) say, his struggle included Somalis across tribal lines from the North to all down to Juba. Besides, it is better for Somalis to own this history then have Iley and his Tigray masters misappropriate it by erecting a statue in occupied Jigjiga.

Tolow how is land size measured in Garowe? it's important to establish that first before making any decision. similarly it's worth knowing how the local municipality Dowlada Hoose ee Garowe works, there's probably all sorts of laws to comply with. it's a small but very built up city with restrictions. so i wouldnt be surprised if its expensive. this is a great way to increase govt power and to control the land market but one ought to be wary of speculation too. there's an entire industry for get-rich-quick-schemers and speculators. my Puntlander mate was telling me that Amal Bank facilitates the purchase of land, look into that too. these sorts of investments are really the first steps towards development. go for it Che.

a great speech , and BIIXI is showing majurity, Wish him luck and his team. Not sure why Cirro didn't show up, it is time for a compromise and work together, to better the system. I notice how he talked about the Dervishes, and the freedom fighters against the BRITISH and Ethiopians colonizers,, it is was an olive branch to Khaatumo community (even though Dervishes consisted many clans)and am certain this angered likes of Oodweeyne. a lot is waiting including amendment of the constitution and real power sharing for ALL SOMALILANDERS. next TAALO for SAYIDKA in Hargaisa

Gheele is right buy it outside the city, the services will reach there or u can commute. These towns are incredibly small and dense, even Mogadishu.

goodluck to Biixi. wish him all the best and peaceful time. niyoow the biggest target of sayidka was puntlanders and many were killed as he roamed freely in nugal, bari and mudug valleys. there were whole clans in Eyl, Nugal he massacred. he never even saved little children. but you never see them hating on him or looking at his past conduct as anything but attempt to resist white colonialists. sayidka was hero. he mudered my own ancestors but i respect what he did overall. i admit he was drunk on power but his overall goal was noble niyoow.

Land sales and speculation is the only trade that is left in every peaceful region of Somalia. Cities like Garoowe, Boorama and Burco where people congregate for one single market (Suuq) for trades and exchanges, those spaces that are close to the market are expensive. The should create a "suuq" for every neighbourhood like i Hargeisa. In Somaliland the mayors got nothing but to sell public lands, parks school yards or open spaces where people use parking or other issues .Everyone is in the game including the ministers. fact it was Ahmed Siilaanyo who gave the national theater to a local businessman. Che, get some of your friends and start your own village or town 20 minute outside Garoowe. WAxaa laga yaabaa dhulkaa banaan in reer hebel yidhaahdaan angaa leh. A friend told me that from Mogadishu to Hargeisa every open public land is claimed by someone, if not the tribe that lives in the area will demand money or else.. You can start with a nice town where streets are wide and the land is zoned with retail, residential and public places like parks , hospitals and schools. Try to recruit some friends if you decided to relocate.

mogadishu is overtaken by new generation of spies and informers. now they are even starting to enroll in universites and high schools all looking for people to select for assassination. it is a big problem niyoow. you can't trust anyone in that city. you have to look over your shoulder all the time. the problem is unemployment and fear. people want money and people don't want to be killed by saying no to alshabab. it is a big business for alshabab niyoow.
