caaliya is arabic name and thats how you write it in arabic. Aaliyah is just the english version of it. Theres no somali version at all but yeh somali ppl will probably say caaliyoo (adding o to make it somalinized)... anyways most somali names are arabic..except the very original ones that no one uses lately..

when you say north? do you mean somalis from the north?lol ...I seen somalis adding both "o" and "ey"...depending on the name I dnt think it has anything to do with where you hail from, in case you forgot am from the north myself...
