I guess the bio teacher told you also it was impossible for Jesus (AS) not to have a father; yet they have believe life started when a parentless single cell popped into life in its own. They also told you it's impossible for Adam (AS) to have been created from clay, yet you've swallowed the theories that claim life started in some muddy primordial soup, right? No human being was ever created from "clay." Life did start from simpler chemical compounds that grew into bigger compounds over millions of years. You should give biology class you deride a try, you might actually learn something. There you go again. There's a lot a difference between the Jesus in the bible and Qur'an, as you see in the above documentary posted by XX. For example, Qur'an says he was not crucified and explicitly rejects the trinity - a concept not accepted even by some christians. Historians have a true and tried method of ascertaining the credibility of a source. The closer the source is to the event being discussed, the more credible the source. That doesn't imply the source is accurate just more credible. How do you expect us to take the Quran's account of Jesus over the Bible's when the Quran was written some 600 years after Jesus? So, if I was analyzing the life of Jesus I'd take the Bible and other written contemporary accounts of Jesus's life and then the Quran.

Blessed so what is the somali word for suicide ama euthanasia Words come into existence because there is use for them. You can't expect a society to have words for concepts, practices and objects they never had use for. Suicide in Somali is "is-dil." But it wasn't prevalent. The word euthanasia is a medical/technical term coined in the early 20th century industrail Europe. Euthanasia was never an issue for agrarian society like Somalis, so why would there be a Somali counterpart. But we did have close-enough word to Euthanasia called Qumayo-tuur... that is a tradition where the ugliest and barren Xaliimos were thrown off cliffs leaving behind only the comely and fertile.

Would it be better for him back home? Let's be frank. We all know you'd be frothing at the mouth if it was Israel or the USA instead of UAE. Once again, Arab stooges are coming to the defense of the cruel and barbaric instead of standing by the victims.
  5. What is this business about Halyeey Tarsan should stop rapes? It is not his job to end rape that is the central government's job. To be more precise, AMISOM's job since they basically run Xamar's security affairs. Rape is federal crime not municipal. Marka, kuwiina Halyeey Tarsan wax kale ku haaysta, gartiina la soo caadbaxa yaa waxaan meesha oolin lagu gaban min fadlak.
  6. Oba, is that the numbers in Af Maay? Xaaji Xunjuf;905905 wrote: The question we should ask our selves why are we calling these people Cushetic what does King Kush have to do with the NFD region Ethiopia Eritrea Somalia Djibouti Somaliland, Did King kush speak the language of the Amharas or Tigrayans or even Geez or oromo Did King Kush speak Somali. These groupings were created by the European anthropologists thats Ameenas point and she is correct. Cushitic and the biblical Cush have nothing to do with each other. The former is just a name chosen, inappropriately perhaps, for a group of related languages.
  7. Xaaji Xunjuf;905869 wrote: Oromo language is not close to Somali the arsi oromo perhaps have close same grammatic but the language its self is not close to each other and northern oromos in the highlands have even a whole different dialect than the shewa oromos. How close they are is beside the point. Afterall, one can quibble how close two languages are to eternity. The serious questions is: do Eastern Cushitic languages like Somali, Afar, Oromo, Rendille share similarities attesting to the common ancestry of their respective speakers? The answer is categorical yes. Recent genetic studies affirm and substantiate what linguists have been saying for ages. Counting is hardly used as a way to describe the closeness of languages Germanic roman and slavish people have the same counting styles but they are not the same languages not even grouped as the same languages. What are you talking about? Both Germanic and Slavic languages are grouped as Indo-European. Also saho language is much and much closer to tigrinya languages than its to afar now and days. See languages evolve and are shaped through interaction between various people. You're missing the point. Languages evolve yes but not to the extent that their origin is hard to figure out. Some words will always remain with the language. For example, word that describe objects, ideas, emotions that people always had use for like words for domestic economy (farming, lifestock rearing, craftmanship, fishing, etc), basic emotions, family members, household objects, counting, etc will remain. It stands to reason that since people always had use for counting, words for numbers remain nearly unchanged through the ages. Thus, comparing words for numbers are good place to start for any systemic study of languistic similarities.

  11. It is really tough for the US and other civilized countries. If they go by the letter of the law and don't engage in extraordinary renditions like in this case, they run the risk of some of these men slipping by their fingers and committing a moral outrage like 9/11. But if they take preemtive although clearly illegal and immoral steps such as illegal detentions and kidnappings, they are pilloried as flaunting due process, international law and fairness.
  12. I would add the master Arthur Koestler.
  13. If anything Ethiopia's population is underestimated due to poor data collection and retention. Same holds true for most developing countries. UN figures are good place to start.
  14. I think he means N. East of the US. Here in Ontario the snowfall is ten times bigger, thusfar we have more than 25 cm with some places getting closer to 30 cm. But snowfall like this was the norm when I first came to Canada in the mid-1990s. And I'm fed up how the media and specially the Weather Network put out these sensational headlines and dreaded "red alert" warnings about heavy snowfall. This is Canada for crying out loud! It is supposed snow a lot.

  16. Yes, a husband can rape his wife. If a wife doesn't wanna have sex a husband can't force himself on her. Now, if the wife refuses to have sex with you just divorce the witch. Replace her with anothe rmore willing one.
  17. Galbeedi, I never liked Djibouti to begin with because their women are budd-ugly and men too short not to mention walk a little funny. But what you wrote, if true, really does it for me. Down with the Gheelle dictator!
  18. Isra, good on you to admit that you created that profile to get back at me for what I said about Hajj. But when was that? 2 months ago? You women never forget anything, do you? Mid dhako yuuban oo ayaamahan berida ii ruxeeysey aa la kulmayaa goordhow. I'm out of this joint and lets hope you're out of this mischievous business.
  19. Isra, we register your protestation but the gallery is not convinced. You introduced this thread, you've been following me around SOL so you are strong suspect. If this is your devious way of asking if you can see my handsome face, I give you credit. You're more than welcome to join me on Skype where you will be mesmerized and hypnotized by by gleaming bidaar. Be forewarned though you might be premarturely blinded.
  20. Apophis, Only Russians living in Siberia and few farflung corners of Russian Federation but the rest have nothing on us Canadians. It all depends on where you live in Canada though. Southern BC is not bad at all. But if, at the height of Winter, you find yourself in places like Brimstone Head, Newfoundland, where the Flat Earth Society believes is one of the 4 corners of the earth, good luck surving there.
  21. Isra, LOL. Fess up ballerina. That was you, wasn't it? Stop impersonating me on Muslim Singles sites. And I aint Atheist that is for little kids like Apophis. I just don't subscribe to superstitious claptrap.
  22. I loathe everything about Winter: the sleet, the slush, the snow, the freezing rain, the salt, the dreaded 10-5 minutes to warm the car in the morning, the grandma style driving to avoid accidents, the snow shoveling, the cold hands and feet, the frigidly cold days that feel like -40 C, etc. But then I live in Canada where we get real Winters unlike Europe. We Canadians watched with great deal of bemusement couple of years ago when the whole of Europe came to standstill because of 20 cm of snowfall. I remember going to High School wading through kneed-deep snow. So, lets spare some sympathy for those of us who really need it.
