  1. I would advise against abortion in any society but exceptions must be made in cases of incest, rape, and when the mother's health is at risk. Abortion and ultrasounds in some societies are used for all wrong reasons-it's creating population imbalance in India and China.

  4. Originally posted by General Duke: Adeer, I had a valid European passport when you were a boy dancer in Kabul. [/QB] Child exploitation is source of amusement for you now? Haatu-If you live in this country. You are part of the system but that's beside the point. This is all about interest. It's not about liberty and what have you. Protecting immigrants against draconian laws is in my interest since I could be the next one subjected to this law.

  10. DAKAR, Senegal — Women — often white, European and "of a certain age" — flock solo to Senegal's shores year-round for what one hotel manager called "the three 'S's: sun, sea and sex." The growth of Senegal's female sex tourism has its roots in poverty and the lack of jobs for the country's young men. Senegal's unemployment for youths is estimated at 30 percent, according to the International Labor Organization, and the average person in Senegal earns about $3 a day, according to the World Bank. source
  11. Duke-I think we can safely say no Mexican illegal immigrant is causing you any problem but point here is how do you tell Mexican American from Mexican. Geeljire-Amazing eh, maybe we should send Duke to lynching days. I'm sure he will like Jim Crow.

  13. Brewer also issued an executive order that requires additional training for local officers on how to implement the law without engaging in racial profiling or discrimination. "This training will include what does and does not constitute reasonable suspicion that a person is not legally present in the United States," she said. What's reasonable suspicion and how is this not racial profiling?
  14. Rights groups say they will challenge new Arizona immigration law (CNN) -- Four groups that advocate for immigrant rights said Thursday they plan to challenge Arizona's controversial new immigration law, which allows police to ask anyone for proof of legal U.S. residency. The Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund, the American Civil Liberties Union, the ACLU of Arizona and the National Immigration Law Center will hold a news conference Thursday in Phoenix to announce the legal challenge, the groups said. The law, signed by Republican Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer last week, encourages racial profiling, endangers public safety and betrays American values, the rights groups said in a news release. Brewer and others who support the law say it does not involve racial profiling. "Racial profiling is illegal," Brewer said after signing the bill Friday. "It is illegal in America, and it's certainly illegal in Arizona." The law requires immigrants to carry their alien registration documents at all times and requires police to question people if there is reason to suspect they're in the United States illegally. It also targets those who hire illegal immigrant day laborers or knowingly transport them. Brewer also issued an executive order that requires additional training for local officers on how to implement the law without engaging in racial profiling or discrimination. "This training will include what does and does not constitute reasonable suspicion that a person is not legally present in the United States," she said. The law goes into effect 90 days after the close of the legislative session, which has not been determined
  15. AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - A Texas lawmaker says she plans to push for a law similar to Arizona's get-tough immigration measure. San Antonio Express-News and Houston Chronicle report Wednesday that Republican Rep. Debbie Riddle of Tomball says she will introduce the measure in the January legislative session. The new Arizona law would require local and state law enforcement to question people about their immigration status - and make it a crime for immigrants to lack registration documents. Riddle says if the federal government did its job "Arizona wouldn't have to take this action, and neither would Texas." Democrats say such legislation is misguided and predict it will hurt the GOP politically. Copyright 2010 The Associated Press. All rights reserved. 18. Refugee Committee Calls On International Community To End Exploitation in Kenya Pambazuka News With humble respect, on behalf of the refugees living in the camps of Dadaab, we would like to share our grievances with the world and ask for you to help us find our way to freedom. Our lives in the camps are far worse than you can imagine. We live in an open prison, far away from justice and humanity. We talk, but our voices are never heard. We move, but only inside a cage. We have many skills and talents, but we are denied our chance to maximize our potential. We are chained to a life full of stress and despair; a life for which many would prefer death. We are denied opportunities for education and employment. We live in a condition without adequate water, food, or health facilities. We are arbitrarily beaten or detained by police within the confines of the camp. We lack the ability to freely express ourselves or have control over the decisions affecting our lives. Biyokulule
