1. ^It's very unfortunate situation but is this unique to this region only? Obviously Salaax and few others think other regions are affected as well. I think we need to be careful in framing this as one community vs the other, it seems to be a few men at top are only benefiting. I still don't get why the President needs to appoint local governors, let the people do that.
2. Apparently, new tougher terror laws will be introduced giving the security more ammunition needed to further oppose citizens. The obvious victims are Muslims including Somalis but the danger for Kenya is these powers will be used to settle political differences and ethnic issues. This might be eventually blow up in their faces.
3. ^First of all, every Somali leader reports to Addis and Somali public has passively accepted Ethiopian hegemony, so enough with Amxaaro lovers. The enemy of Somalia is Somalia its as shown by the endless conflicts and political infighting. For reer Awdal, hopefully they will make the right, sensible decision.
4. ^I agree with you there, business should be competitive and not be curbed by cronyism, that's just asking for trouble.
5. ^Ungrateful? Seriously? Saalax. The injustice (some of it perceived) and tribalism might be there but luck of economic advancement is the root cause, at the very least, it enhances these problems. If you listen to him, a part of what he is saying has to do with access of power and resources, two things only the Government can give. p.s. it makes no sense to appoint some from another region. Locals should have a say in who runs the place.
6. Quick question, is true the Governor of Awdal is not from Awdal? I think Somaliland's obsession has become an obstacle to the development of the region whether be economic and social developments. The Goverment would have to revise its policies and invest the people. You have very young nation with no jobs or any real opportunities. The Government is the sole entity where many go to work. This creates resentment towards the clan in 'power' though truth to be told the clan does not benefit from the Government , just the elites but the entire clan is blamed anyway. The youth need opportunities and power should be delegated in terms local government collecting taxes and investing the money locally.
7. I am hearing Abdiwali's brother was attacked....anyone heard anything?
8. Oodweyne. The outcome of the referendum will be determined by folks in the now so-called "Southwest State". There is a shift in power and on those on tribal federalism side have been 'winning' slowly but surely. These on the periphery will not give up their powers, even communities in the President's backyard namely Hiiraan are fighting hard to get their share. We must also remind ourselves communities within each block are not monolithic and don't necessarily share the same goals.
9. @malistar2012 said: several airports and Now a Port are open new policy coming from HG clan no more Anarchy invading others clans using force ...... .... That's blasphemy! Tillamook not cool dude...
10. Tomorrow it's. Oodka. The 'defeated lot' ultimate goal is tribal federalism and they seem to be on the right track, In any case, whatever course Somalia takes, it's safe to say Somalis will benefit from it the least.
11. Apparently, MPs that were initially 'supporting' the President joined the other camp; things don't look so clear cut for the President. Jawari seems hesitant and there is Southwest issue which was opposed by Jawari.
12. Does it really matter if he resigns or if new PM is appointed? The fact is every prime minister has to deal with disloyal cabinet members who only answer to their real boss and corrupt parliament that will sell their souls.
13. History can be funny sometimes, It's told by whoever is at your kitchen table. Facts eventually fade away.... We have appreciation for history so long as it fits our narratives. My take on the elites in the kacaan is little different, as you were.
14. Tallaabo, so Aden's butcher shop wasn't a colony? Tell me why would a Colonial Office administer a protectorate? Back to the subject, it's unfortunate grownups are celebrating such events.

17. Tell her to think about the day after the wedding, does she want to start a new life with debt? That said, be sensitive what she says, many times she is being pressured by female relatives. One last advice, if you end up getting married, don't be shy to discuss finance. It's important couples understand each when it comes to finance. Good luck!
18. What's funny people apologizing on behalf of all Somalis or Somalia people as someone wrote. Someone had to mention the backwardness of Somalis, I guess he is not one of those backward ones.
19. I think this is from funny or die. Here's another one. http://www.funnyordie.com/articles/ebf5e34fc8/10-hours-of-walking-in-nyc-as-a-man
20. People are tired of Somalis. I think powers to be have a map of Federal Somalia in mind, that will be drawn up regardless whoever protest. The ideal thing would have a genuine reconciliation spearheaded by the elders and facilitated by the Government. p.s. No sarcasm duqa.
