  1. It seems TPLF's influence is waning or Somali leaders are exerting themselves. https://youtu.be/QzaDkwuX8O4
  2. @galbeedi said: Barwqqao, ma ololihii Hassan Sheikh baad ku biirtay. Ina Adeer sobobta miyaad noo shoogi kartaa? It seems she and TPLF thugs have something in common, lobbying the ever corrupt Culasow.
  3. ^Calasow have nothing to do this. Good Somalis worked hard on this since 2009 when the Somali Parliament was forced to nullify MoU. Hopefully, Calasow, Omar Shuluq, Sharif and Abdishakur would be resigned to oblivion, corrupt and dirty to the bone.
  4. Galbeedi, Trump is narcissist who will do anything to further his fame and fortune. The man didn't even want to win. He has no ideological bent. The problem is coming from the supremacists and demagogues around him namely Steve Bannon (a white supremacist) and General Flynn (a Christian fascist). They are now the decision makers when it comes to issues of national security and economic policies. The Chairman of Joint Chiefs of Staff and Director of National Intelligence, the essential members of the white house security council, are , in fact, no longer part of National Security Council. The directive was actually written by Steve Bannon. The Department of Justice was not consulted, neither was the Congress. \ The acting Attorney General refused to defend to the order in courts. That said, Americans did came out in large numbers, lawyers dropped whatever they were doing and went to the airports. Civil rights, churches and other civic institutions came out in number. Americans are beginning to wake up to the reality Trump will indeed do what he said he will do. We
  5. I was happy to hear the prime minister label this as terrorism act.
  6. Americans and the world is watching a new horror show. That said, I was happy to see Americans demonstrating at major US Airports. We, Somalis, need a place to call home. The world is changing! We should take our country back (in not Trump sense), just take back from those that destroyed our lives and our land.
  7. He's good orator, a good man, a family man. As far as domestic policies are concerned. He did a lot for Americans despite the coordinated, relentless opposition from republicans and the white establishment. His foreign policy was simply horrible. His drone policy killed tens of thousands of Innocent people including women and children, and most of the victims were almost exclusively Muslim including Somalis. In a lot ways, he was worse than W,
  8. I gave up on Hassan Sheikh the moment he went to Mekelle to commemorate Zenawi and TPLF. How could anyone honor the very people that destroyed your city, the country's capital nonetheless. For Omar Abdirashid, I hope he stays wherever he is. The man has no political acumen, administrative skills or backbone to push through anything. Some of the men running for the presidency might on personal level be honest men, but they are all beholden to foreign entities, some more than others. If I had choose anyone, I wish Farmaajo and Sheikh Sharif to make to the finals. Ethiopia's influence seems waning a bit thanks to its own internal dissent, economic downturn, another impending famine and Westerners no longer seeing it as the bulwark against terrorism. And there's the Gulf encroachment on the Red sea and Somali coast. And there is the Nile water issue. Uganda and South Sudan are warming to Sisi.
  9. Al Franken lays into Trump for attacking Minnesota’s Somali-American community https://thinkprogress.org/al-franken-lays-into-trump-for-attacking-minnesotas-somali-american-community-79cd2dd0f62f#.vt7b5hyq3
  10. Good for him, I met the guy once. He seemed well informed and level headed. I hope the next generation. The only way to make a difference is to be at the tables where decisions are being made. We must also remember Ilhan Omar. Her election to Minnesota State legislature will hopefully inspire others in the MN and elsewhere in the US.
  11. The last time we got caught up in this sort of situation, we paid a heavy price. We should stay neutral,
  12. His brother Mohamed Eno wrote thesis on the myth of homogeneity and our affinity towards Arab, something that's not reciprocated. May Omar rest in peace, AUN.

  14. I would like to believe reer Waqooyi leadership would better than their southern brethren. Sadly, I don't think they are any better though I have to admit they are less prone to violence. True Somali dealership does not exist. It is even amazing we gained "independence." Putin has played the West from Syria to holding conferences for American and European neo-Nazis in Saint Petersburg. Assad and his band of Shia militias along with Russian air-force and "advisers" are about to capture all of Aleppo, Soon they will have control over the major urban centers, Putin is doing everything to discredit the West, everything from their liberal politics and economics. He didn't forget Western triumphalism when Russian empire come crushing down in 91. What's more, he has 'friends' in the Trump's cabinet and White House. The anti-Muslim general Flyn has cozy relationship with Moscow. Trump is about to nominate ExxonMobil CEO Rex Tillerson as the next Secretary of State. Tillerson and ExxonMobil has business and personal interests in Russia, The CIA has openly admitted Putin's hackers infiltrated the DNC and even RNC. When asked about the situation, Trump brushed off. Even the traditional GOP leadership were surprised at his response. In other words, it will be four interesting years. For the sake of our people (all Somalis), I hope we find an anchor, at this point I don't even mind independent Somaliland as long as it serves the anchor for all the Somali people in the Horn. One more thing, D and H grip on Somali political arena needs to be diminished. Their respective leadership brought nothing but destruction to the Somali people.
  15. We first need to acknowledge the place is run by Tigray generals. Iley reports to them directly. The Tigray keeps him around due to his immense cruelty towards his people, especially the OG tribe. No one comes close to Iley's slavish servitude. The Liyu police under Iley has become a potent force, so much so that regular Ethiopian army waa nasteen. I have met a young woman he personally tortured. Nothing comes close to his dedication and evilness. The young woman said it was actually Oromo soldiers that took pity on her. The late Zenawi and current leadership learned how the Somali mind works. The leadership of Liyu police consists of many tribes. For instance, if there's terrible in Wardheer, Ethiopians will send Liyu police regiment. The regiment will be under the leadership of someone outside of Wardheer. Being such simple-minded people, the residents will blame the tribe of the man leading the force. If Ethiopians want to attack Gaashaamo, they will send someone from KabriDahir. If they want to attack Kabridahir, they will send someone from Gaashaamo, so and so forth. Iley has no remediable quality. I hate to say, but if the sh!t hits the roof in Ethiopia, the region will be plunged into civil war. That's unless ONLF wises up and become inclusive military and civilian entity.
  16. Nuune, bisinka qabso NGONGE, I thought you appointed as deputy to Sland ambassador to UK in the latest Siiraanyo reshuffle?
  17. Soo dhawoow.! Don't pay any attention to what anyone says, nothing worse to listening someone's advice (no matter how it's intended to be) and finding out you hate what they advise to do. If this is what you want, stick to it, good luck,
  18. Blue, You have San, Pygmy and Papuan. Your ancestors are busy hehe. It makes more sense, I surprised initially when I saw no ME connection Miyir. It's very complex, but it shows one thing there are no pure ethnicity, Maakhiri, Did you send your kit?
  19. Blue, I guess my question are ethnic Somalis a unique group or amalgamation of many groups that eventually became one group? I know three people that did ancestry.com test, they are all a mix of Bantu, Middle Eastern and North African. I might do 23 and me test and see their results.
  20. Do they break down sub-Saharan African part? I am surprised you have no Middle Eastern.
