  1. Starting a journey with a trip to Saudi Arabia is never good,
  2. Alright folks, let's put politics aside, there are any small business owners among you? Please share your experience and lessons learned in starting and running business.
  3. Oodweyne, I understand the concept and the spirit behind it. As you said such economic integration requires regulatory arm which at least in my mind would result in giving up some sovereignty. What you are saying is ideal but I don't see it materializing. Mintid, I am not sure Samatar and Khalif have brought much to the equation. You might be right Mogadishu, but the same is true of Hargeisa. They are not any closer to international recognition (whatever they have been doing isn't working), worse yet the young have not seen their lives improve. They are sitting idle or dying on the high seas just like their cousins from the South. The leaders falsely equate economic prosperity with international recognition all the while siphoning the little resources that's there. The only thing going for Hargeisa is democracy on empty stomach, hardly a recipe for success. That sadly enough, you are replacing one Said Barre era old man with another in the coming election. There's not much change there either.
  4. Any political divorce should be final and uncomplicated. Any sort of confederacy will undermine Somali sovereignty as regions of Somalia might be tempted to demand special status. There is no need a common market, shared passport or nothing of sort, just bilateral relations. That's said, Somalia should and would always welcome every ethnic Somali and grant them automatic citizenship. And the pro-unity tribes have should a say in expressing their loyalty and decide their destiny.
  5. That's funny :-) No Somali leader in recent history has garnered so much goodwill from Somalis. We will see what he does once the euphoria dies down.
  6. I think he should, It's trending. Yes, that's him.
  7. The last time Somalis get sucked into world's geopolitics, we paid a heavy price. What compels this Government to get involved in this mess?
  8. Does he have any influence? And can he sway others to abandon AS? AS needs to be destroyed from within and people like him can help that's if he still has any influence.
  9. Cadnaan, I wish I had the energy and indha adeegnimada of Duke, Juje and Malistar. I am afraid I will fall short. These are big kabo to fill. Duke and Juje are old timers. I don't know if you remember.
  10. Somalis are f'ed up. Surely, there are other ways to address this matter.
  11. https://youtu.be/koLU7xvxX84 Somali forces
  12. Oodweyne, I guess we fundamentally disagree where the loyalty of these young people would be. In any case, I hope there's no war. I hope to see common sense prevailing. The Somali nation can't afford any protracted conflict.
  13. With millions in the bank and support of Ethiopia among others, why did Xasan Sheekh and Damjadiid come short?
  14. Oodweyne, I am not under-estimating the will of Sland folks, after all you have an entire generation who know nothing else but Somaliland. I am sure such generation will be more willing to sacrifice themselves. What I am saying today's circumstances are different. Any attempt to force Harti tribes into seceding from Somalia will only end in tribal war. It will be long and nasty. What we have not two armies but civilians armed to teeth.
  15. I under-estimated the level of support he has among the general public in particular Xamar. Xamar is going wild. Even places like Widhwidh. I hope he doesn't squander people's goodwill.
  16. Oodweyne, I grant you no Somali flag will fly high in Hargeysa. Conversely, the Somaliland flag will not fly in pro-unity tribes lands. You speak of cohesion and confronting Somalia, but the same can be or perhaps will be true for pro-unity tribes. The mighty Somaliland army and Hjeclo couldn't force the Dhulos to surrender at Kalshaale, I highly doubt it can force anyone else, same is true of Somali forces , any Somali army or militia won't able to fight its way to Hargeysa. It is easy to start war but ramifications will be beyond anyone else's control. The most powerful army (US) will learned the hard way. In the end, whether anyone of us likes it or not, the final solution has to be through peaceful means. One more thing about Galeyr, the man's quest was in part driven by his distaste or irrational hatred of MJs. Mjs are no longer in the picture. They will occupy no significant office in Hamar. And Farmaajo has no regard of Pland's leaders anyway.
  17. If we learned anything from Somali civil, it's no tribe can impose its will on another. It's amazing that you believe (I think sincerely) Somaliland will can force Harti tribes seceding from Somalia. Paranoia and rush to war will not end in glorious victory. As for Galeyr, the man lost all legitimacy. He couldn't fly out of Buhoodle let alone represent his community.
  18. The one good thing (if there's any) that came out of the Somali civil war is no Somali can blame another for their leadership failures. The old man is failure. So is Abdiwali Gas, Hassan Sheikh, Sakin, Guled, etc. Each tribe or region has no one else to blame. Maybe Somalis need to understand vote for the better not the incompetent ones from your tol.
