  2. suufis should be kicked out of somalia. one by one they should the ultimatum. what they have done and are doing is nothing but shirk we should have kickd them out long time ago. in fact i believe one of the reasons somalia hs unrest war and blood shed is becuase of the amount shirk an xaraam activities that are carried out within the country. i just hope the 19 years of war have tought us a valuable lesson.
  3. If the term raaliyo means a women who just cooks and cleans, than I guest that term is not in use today, or shouldn’t be in use. In this modern, fast and crazy world, women have replaced men in many ways. Just take a look at our society. Women have out worked out achieve and out shined the male members of somali community. It’s appalling and some what sad to know that our men have not pull their socks up and do something for their community. Not as much as the female have done. I for one wouldn’t call myself raaliyo, because marriage and partnership is two way street and because I still want a job, and money like anyone else. But if the male member of the household is willing to go places and go extra mile for he's wife and kids, I for sure would make him feel like the king of the jungle. Needless to say it’s the man that leads the house and if he's strong, aspiring and faithful, no need to complain about being a raaliyo
  4. he might carry the name title sheekh but it dont make him better than the late president, the one before that, and the one before that. he's merly doing what any corrupt, greedy, power hungery backwarded leader would do. dont you all be suprise that he went against he's own words. its something we humans are known to do.

    The Truth

The truth for someone is knowing the origins and historical background of something. Now what that thing is, differ in how you conclude the truth. To me truth means the religion of Islam. No matter where I am, who I am debating with, what we discussing and whether I admit the truth or not. I have realised that I have to know what Islam says about it and therefore I have to conclude in the way our religion says. for example if we are discussing the issue of abortion, as every religion, culture has its own view about this topic, I always lean and agree what Islam says about the truth. The truth is something that we have been told already in the Quran and hadhith.
  7. im still studying at university. i have got one more year to go, and i honestly feel like i have made the worst mistake of my life. the degree i have chose is not what i want to do afterall. i have realised this after i chose this course, before i used to think this is what i wanted to do. i was so excited that now i just feel ashmed and angry for making what could be the biggest mistake of my life. i really feel like i could've done better had i chosen another degree.
  8. we are african. the colour of our skin and the shape of our nose doesnt qulify us as arabs. allah did make prophet adam from different color sands as mentioned so the fact that we are lighter shade of brown, and have longer, striaghter nose or softer hair than than some africans, doesnt make us anything we not. my personal veiw anyway.
  9. to me somalinimo is the cultural, historcal, religious and identity we somalis share. somalinimo is what promotes those above values that are the product of the somali people and its civilization and the struggles against slavery, racism, colonialism, and neo-colonialism and civil war and poverty. somalinimo is also Greater Somalia therefore includes Somalia, Djibouti, the Ogeaden and the North Eastern Province. somalinimo would mean to the vision of unifying these territories under one Somali flag and nation. The pursuit of this goal has led to conflict, with Somalia engaging in armed warfare with Ethiopia over the Ogeaden region, as well as supporting Somali insurgents in the so-called Shifta War in kenya. however many people do not believe in the idea of somalinimo becuase we have failed to fight for whats ours. fighting each other in the name of qabilism hs led to the failture of somalinimo.
  10. whats happening in this world, now and before, is none other than what we humans have caused. the rich, the poor, the governments and political parties all trying to gain support of the people so they can grow strong, is none other than greedness, hunger for materialisim, and love of this world we have. all you can do is try to shut yourself from everything thats happening around you and get on with your life. and the only way to do that is to increase the dikr of allah.
  11. i like the idea of somalinimo adhave always put that thought in mind. but since i was brought up in the west, i have realised i cared less about my somalinimo. and more about being equal no matter where you from. the liberal mentality of the west has got the best of me. however i dont think thats such bad idea, as im not as racist as i thought i would. more recently since 9/11 i become islamnimo. i care more about the religion and would always lean towards it when having discussions. i do believe that the idea of somalinimo hs died, even though to olde generations like our parents they might still carry that torch, but with current generation, and the young thats grwin up, idoubt very much they care about somalinimo.

  23. Originally posted by ANTARA: Salaan sare saxibayaal, "One should talk about Somalia Student' Life after Uni in Asia. Very disappointed!!" ^^ I couldn't agree more with yaabka, those studying in the west are very lucky in comparison, all you have to do is get your first class and you are bound to find a job sooner or later(with some luck). But getting used to life after uni as in working 9-5 with only 20 days holioday for the whole year will definitly be a challenge for me. YOU SHOULD LEAVE ASIA ONCE YOU GOT YOUR DEGREE. GO TO BACK TO AFRICA. THEY WILL TAKE YOU JUST LIKE THAT. TRY SOMEWHERE LIKE KENYA, TANZANIA MAYBE?
