  2. Fried Plantains recipe in Somalia I think in Moos bukeeni la dhihi jiray but I'm not sure This fried plantains recipe taste best when the plantains are almost black in color. The sweetness of the plantain, along with the butter creates a taste that is very decadent and delicious. 4 extra ripe plantains 4 tablespoons of butter salt to taste Peel the plantains and cut them on the diagonal in about 1-inch slices. Set aside. In a heavy cast iron or large skillet melt the butter on medium heat. Add the sliced plantains and fry until golden brown on each side for about four minutes. Remove the plantains from the pan and place on a paper plate lined with paper towels. Sprinkle with salt. Serve immediately http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/638/plantains.jpg/

  13. History shows that the Banadiri people are the founders of Xamar. They are made up of communities of diverse origins bounded together centuries of common tradition, values and beliefs. The mainstay of the reer Xamar or as your calling them "cad cad" culture is peaceful coexistence, hard work and loyalty based on neighborhood and deep association to their locality rather than blood affiliation. Marka sida ii muuqata hadda reer Banaadir baladkoodii aaba loo bururooyaa waana laxaqirooyaa!!! Allah macaak… wax yarleeba kaharay inta Xamar kunool hadda saan umaleynaayo less than 8% maybe.
  14. From what I heard Banadiris are the natives and the founders of the city. The ancestors of the Banadir Community founded Xamar (now Mogadishu) for more than a thousand years ago. During that time neither a land called Somalia nor a people called Somali existed. Like the old colonies of the Arabs and Persian along was in the coasts of East Africa. Mogadishu was one of the places which was used as the entry point to the interior. In 1200 A.D. Imam Fakhrudin developed Xamar into a centre of trade for textile and cloth industries which for a century attracted voyages and traders, as much as the famous Arab navigator Ibn Batuta.
