  1. it is amazing the different languages somalis speak! swahli oromo arabic and some that i don't even recogniz!! But i think we should stick to english and somali because more people can associate themselves with it and understand it. Og girl i haven't seen some where saying you have to be somali my mother tangue isn't Somali or English! So, does that mean your not somali??
  2. Mention anything about Arabs and our very own SOL Arab League team is ready for another exciting session of compare/contrast. And of course, whenever the organization's motto of compare/contrast comes up, the back-up singer(s) hum: quote: Originally posted by Classique: Dawaco dear keep up the great words Originally posted by OG_Girl: ^^^ Dawaco, thumbs up girl. Salam Indeed, two thumbs up.. ..for the guy who married 58 women! [/QB] i too am begining to notice this disturbing trend!
  3. form what i understand u believe this saudi man is doing this in the islamic way. How can that be when he doesn't even remeber most of their names? When he probably doesn't pay equal attention to ALL of his wives? we don't know anything about this guy and how he treats his wives. Maybe he has favorites. Maybe he beats them. So you can't be so sure that he is conducting this polygamy in the islamic way. we muslim women must come to terms with it i guess you wouldn't mind being the 53 wife of your husband
  4. dawoco we weren't talking about somali men and they surley don't do this as extensively and as common as the saudis . So u don't find a man married to 58 women disgusting, offending, or horrible???
  5. ^ golddiggers! hopefully ur not one of them HOBK! But on a serious note just go with ur heart! and welcome
  6. What u don't understand is if these warlords and "gov't officals" run free they will only try to gain power again and influence other followers of theirs into commiting the same crimes. Bottom line the SAME MISTAKES will be made if these people see that the law is slacking. Other warlords and political leaders will find courage and won't worry about jail or their wrong doings being repremended. The basic thought would be "hey he got away with it and so can i." the whole point of jail is not only for justice but to keep the murderers from commiting another crime.
  7. happy new year to u to jumatatu and let it be a safe and happy one for all
  8. WOW  there is definatly a first time for everything!!
  9. sweet gal well said i wonder why Og girl got offended when you said that she shouldn't. That post was pretty unoffensive to me and you seemed to be trying your best not to hurt anyones feelings a trait that SOME pple need to learn! Og girl spare your bla bla for someone else.. & you can recite your to yourself dear if im correct sweet gal was sharing her opinons too just like you did.Wasn't that your whole point, that pple can respond to other pples posts?!that they are free to state their opinions? AJ you are way to strong and harsh in your words tone it down a bit! how are we supposed to have a healthy discussion with all this insults flying around! Back to the topic. i comend those pple who pray in public becuase they are brave souls that don't care about what or who is watching. Their prayer to God is dear to them and they don't want to delay it any further so they pray on the spot. Those pple definantly have a reserved spot in heaven!
  10. og girl kissing Ethiopian dust behind wont get him any where neither will kissing arabs buts. But i do agree with you on the Egyptian part. They are the leader of the Arab world. There consent is the whole arab worlds consent.
  11. Sue what i don't understand is how is freewill and the string theory connected? and is there a similarity b/w freewill and destiny? (thats what i seem to get from your posts u put the same words together) i understand that string theory does not question Allah's planned destiny for each and everyone of us. Because Allah knows what choices we will make even before we make them. So if we take that bus or go through that door Allah already knows.even if that bus or door changes our whole future. hope i made sense! thanks for the string theory link sue
  12. very interesting way of displaying the years bizzare moments! Some were kind of funny(in a dark sort of way) like like L & S and some were down right disgusting like I P and U  good post!
  13. very true classique that sounds like a good topic to me! its kind of what i have been trying to say, that we as somalis and africans need to stand on our own two feet if progress is ever to be made. No need for arabs.
  14. you really got them there Xquizit! come on guys answer the women! and i agree that there are worse "muslim"girls who were hijab then those who don't.
  15. that was a great article maud and a big eye opener for me. It shows Islams power in the world and its rapid growth even among a ethnic group that is predomenatly if not all Roman catholics!
  16. VERY intersting viking. I used to dwell on the "what ifs and what would's" i definanetly learned something new and thats the String Theory. What i didn't understand is how these vibrating strings play into our lives? do they determine if we take that bus or train? and how do mathematicall calculate such a thing! its scary to think our future is determined by what bus we take or what actions we perform. thanks for broadening my horizons
  17. ^ tell me about it! somalis are loud no question. Every group has their loudmouths but we just seem to have ALOT of them
  18. macalimuu you hit the nail on the head. its all on the part of our ancestores ingnorance by not seeing the destruction this clans system has caused. Imagine where somalia would be without it: great places. And its true that getting rid of this system that has prevailed since the dawn of time, will be impossible. If not get rid of it atleast lets strive to get it out of plotics for good! yes its nice to know our relatives but at what cost? death of a nation aswell as a people? progress is hindered by this clan system.
  19. ohh, a song, never heard of it? i actually thought it was swahili or something you now with all the aaka aaka stuff yeah why don't you let us hear it sometime
