  1. He is correct. He is not black, Because there is no race called black? if i remember the lecture given to me by mr Mugambi aka qaaqow aka ali uraaye, my G.H.C teacher, there are three main races namely: 1.Caucasian races (cadaans + Semites) 2.The Mongoloids(Asian iyo waxaas oo dhan) 3. The Negroid(asxaabul jareer).

While the're some aspects of Somali dhaqan oo durbadiba badalmay , I dont think aroos is one of them....When the Somali republic was viable, there were many people who did western weddings. (obviously not to the extent of it these days, but still). Besides, Many a Somali listened to non somali western music and dressed up in non somali attire(mostly western as well).. I have always fought this argument that "Somalida markey dibida soo galeen, weey dhaqan badalatey". This is flawed. Anyway, if they did, Somalis are Human and humans do adopt just like other animals adopt to surroundings. & change is good i think, good change that is

When you hit a child all they remember is the pain and not what you tell them. The other day on my way home I overheard a Somali mother calling her 5 year old son an obscenity. At first I thought she was on the phone but whe I turned the child looked distraught. There are more ways to damage your child than hitting. Did she say Dayuusyahow or qasiisyahow? Some Moms are just cruel....i doubt if they even had those babies....maybe they were switched at birth i do know!- heartless somma biajes
  6. I refuse to buy this story. No! And here is my reasoning.... If the indiginous African people do not have chocolate as part of their ancestral offerings, then it aint healthy. Obviously it is a ploy by the chocolate industry to reverse the negative publicity chocolate and other sweet candies have endured for years. Either that, or the world has come to an end.
  7. I cant watch this anymore!- I saw it around facebook this am...
  8. Wyre-did u name yourself after the kenyan singer? i was always curious....

  10. Did the potential first "third" lady say Yes? If so, waxaa naga mudan(Shacabka Somaleed) inaan u hambalyeyno arooska iyo aroosada. I will hold my congratulations till i hear that the girl has accepted. Ps. This dhaqan is as old as the Somalis...and its not a strange odd culture adapted from some other place...who knows, some of the nomads here could be the off springs of this.
  11. burahadeer;810852 wrote: Q: Why are Somalians always on their phone? What are they talking about all day and to whom? A: Really? You got to be kidding me. You’re going to ask this? Just wondering, are you paying our phone bills? We’re talking about you behind your back. Oh, and it is Somalis, not Somalians. But seriously, we are a society that loves to socialize due to the hot climate. We’re outdoors day and night. At night we used to sleep under the stars and the moon because it was too hot to be inside the house. I knew everybody in my town. In America, everybody locks their doors. So, we’re trying to learn your ways by locking our doors and not sleeping outside and, to substitute our ways, we are using our phones (that we pay our own bills for) to call family and friends and neighbors. We love to socialize and keep in touch with everyone, but now that we’re spread around the world we can’t all talk in person. Until you pass a law to ban phones, you will see me talking on the phone to my nine siblings and 11 half-siblings living in three continents, seven countries, and as many time zones. Since you want to know who we’re on the phone with all day, here’s a typical day for me. Most days, I will talk to my sister in Somalia, to check in and see if everything is ok with them. In the morning, as I’m on my way in to work, I get a call from my mother in London, and she asks me to talk to my brother who won’t listen to her. I’m late to work, but I take five minutes to listen to her. Around 1 p.m., I would call my father because it is 9 p.m. for him, and I know he’s just finished his day and came home to sleep. At 10 p.m., I get a call from my little brother (also in London) who just got off from work and will say good night to me before he goes to bed. It is 3 a.m. for him, but he knows I get off from my second job at 10 p.m. At 10 a.m. Saturday morning, I call my six nieces and nephews I’ve never met in Sweden and chat with them before my shift. And this is on top of all the normal phone use that any other Minnesotan has. If this is inconveniencing you, sorry, but I can’t help you. But thanks for the question. - Ifrah Jimale Great answer @Ifrah Jimale...but who asked the stup1d question anyway?
  12. I dont care for the political side of this(Hargeisa can decide what it wants to remember-and the non somalilanders can choose what to forget), Having said that, this shold be demolished right away coz this is one heck of an ugly structure. Most importantly, i oppose this and all other silly monuments...purely for economic reasons. I mean, the number of dollars spent on this couldve helped many many Somalilanders.
  13. So,if GorGor is Eagle, what do you call Galeyr marka? I think the collective term Haad is probably relevant here...

I think Vulture is called Haad in Somali. We call Vuluture Gor Gor. Interesting list to say the least....But some of these words are not "Southern Somali Words", they are urban xamari street language (combo of Somali, Italian and arabic). Bushkuleeti for instance is not somali..

I see her face on alot of posters but her identity is a complete mystery while you will know the names of the less beautiful and more westernised ''models'' before you have even seen their images. Innocent, you said? Sure. Thanks for the wlc back

Lets say its 90ksh to the dollar...thats 555.5 USD and multiply that by 20=(equals) to 11K+.... now, add a zero at the end of that to make it 110K if it were 200 camels. or 2 the blood of two full blooded faraxs and 4 full blooded halimos.
