    Compliments

Posted by Zafir African American dude: Dayyymm, baby you look fine as hell, look at the size of your back, uummh uumh your legs in em jeans. Baby I just couldn't walk away with out telling you look beautiful. Somali Gal: Giggles (like a five year old) thank you, you’re so sweet. The African American dude thinking he done it, he made the Mack move and she will came chasing, walks away (Obviously he didn't know much about Somali gals) Me and my friend heard the entire exchange, so I asked my friend if i were to say all that the African American said, what do you think she might say? He said, “I don't know. But dude, don't.†So I got up and approached her. Me: Yarta, abaayo Jir mac ah aa kugu yaalo, dib dey, xabad dey, lugo faras aa ku saaran. abooyo macaan qalin biire maa laguu sameeyey? Somali gal: Kaniis, aabahaa @@@, maxaa ii maleeysay, waxaan anshax laheen aa tahay. Yaabka ma ila aregteen, gacan eeba gaartay. hada walaalayaaloow maxaa ka qaldan sheekadaan. Ani maa waalan? Idinka ii sheega dadoow. LoooooooooooooL....LooooooooL. adigaa waaaaalan..Taloow miyaad marqaan saneed
  7. ^^Hadaba nin yahoow qumanahaagaa qoorta kuugu jira. Hadaan si fiican u sii fiiriyey sentenceka labaad xitaa Zadir ayaa kaa saxsan, waayo, you said" kaa haraayiin markaad musqusha u socotid" hence, musqusha maadan gaarin, mana aadan galin, seebey kaaga hareen? kow. Haraayiin maxay ka dhigan tahay? haraayaan baa?? af-soomaaliga formalka in aad baratid isku taxaluugi walaal. Ps: Arday kaa madax adag waligeey ma arag in my 10 years of teaching
  8. Raula I tell you ayeeyooninki baad kaa xaartay. Raula, LooL yaa ayeeyooyinka la xaar kugu yiri harta? wallee baab kuma shiro adiga Rudy, waxa ku haayo daawadiisa waa biyo qaboob, not gabdheheena ok sporkejoone waaxid.
  9. Bishaaro waa reer kismaayood, luqad fiican kuma hadlaan ee warkeeda ka baxa. bal lemme take a peak at this: Sayyid qutb wrote:"Waxaan kale aan maqlay, in Munkar iyo Nakiir ay kaa hariyaaniin marka aad musqusha usocotid." and Zafir wrote:"Waxaan kaloo maqlay, in ay Munkar iyo Nakiir kaa haridoonaan markaad musqusha galaysid." My analysis: The problem here lays in the first sentence; which is implying past tence (something, you have heard a while ago) the second part of the sentence is perfetcly normal/correct amongst you both. Now let's take Sayyid qutb's first sentence:"Waxaan kale aan maqlay" all these years in my teaching the grammer in the somali laguage, sayyid i must say, you are not alone. A lot of people/students make these similar mistakes. we can't say Waxa aan maqlay that's inproper grammer, we can say Waxaan maqlayAm sure now you can see teh difference in the writting and the sounds they make. Aan, iyo Oon can't stand alone in a sentence. Here is a trick you can use Sayyid. When you reread your sentence, if it doesn't sound wright chances are it ain't wright. Hence, Zafir's first sentence is grammatically correct.

  17. Sheikh Ngonge, Hoping everything is good and well with you and yours ya sheikh. We haven’t seen you around lately sir and I am stuck, you remember, I told you I was publishing that ‘boredom’ book. Well, I am six or seven stories short now. If you could come back and complete it, we would all greatly appreciate it ya sheikh. In other words we miss ya. Baashi, Feen anta ya xabiibi? Hoping everything is good and well with you and yours as well sir. Do not worry so much about the Seahawks, they are going to loose with or without your worrying. How is the “I believe project†coming along? Well, we miss ya ol pal. Mutakalim, My ol pal, I haven’t read a post from you in decade, though I sometimes think you hold a share in the English language (the way you write) hope everything is cool with you and yours as well sir. Nonetheless come and say hi sometimes. I really don’t expect you guys to respond to this thread par say, but think of it this way. You know in the movies, when the hero finally nails the bad guy in the end and he is looking around in the crowd for his accomplice. The accomplice shows his face at the far end and winks, that’s what I am looking for gentleman. Just that wink.

  19. Interesting theories. Vikings, almost all the words you have mentioned are found in the Oramiffa language, and their history goes back all the way in 3rd century. These words were already in the oromiffa dialect the biblical or Egyptian had come to known in east Africa. Well, not Egypt. Because Egypt ruled Abyssinia for 100 years sometime between the first century and the second century (not sure if these dates are accurate), and it’s believed that it was the Egyptians that first introduced Christianity (orthodox) to the Abyssinians. I will write Oramiffa and will translate in English and Somali BARRATA means Student (arday) BARRSSITA means Teacher (barraa/macalin) BARRSSIISU means Teach (bar) TUMTU means Instruments makers (tumaal) WADADCHA means Man of religion (wadaad) MIRG means Right (midig) BITA means Left (bidix) QALU means to slather (gawrac/qal) Land of punt Oromania
  20. No Soup For you...LooL. First time am hearing of this, I thought it had to do with preference. I have no recollection of visiting miyi, the times I was taken there.
