  1. ^That's probably because you don't have a reason to, me on the other hand.....
  2. ^ More tragic than saudi arabia's attempt was my attempt at the gym tonight. Never realised how unfit i was, huffing and puffing like an old lady. I guess that's what you get after a two year break. Deadline to achieve goals: 3 months. Inshallah!
  3. Xiin, Explain something to me brother, if we do go down this road of federalism where every clan and its camels set up their own political shop and every time the central government acts out in ways which they may disagree with (rightly or wrongly) they play the clan card then what is the point of having a greater Somalia? It irks me when people pretend to care about a greater somalia and as soon as they perceive slight discrimination against their clan they want to derail the whole thing. You see, my main issue here is not Jubbaland or any other administration for that matter but the entire process seems to be a sham. We are trying to sugar coat the real problem here and so long as we are a people full of nacayb and distrust of one another because of qabiil we won't get anywhere. Thanks for the welcome back, how is life treating you?

Adeer Jubaland is coming, Ismael Omar Gulleh, Xasan Shiekh & Faisal Warreb can do nothing but be spectators. It shouldn't even be an option- Somalis are unable to apply it appropriately. All it is doing is extending qabiil politics and hatred.
  5. This is why a greater Somalia will never work so long as we have federalism built on clan (as interpreted by Somalis) politics.
  6. Irrespective of motivation, the Northerners make valid points here. I can’t see how people can acknowledge someone as their leader yet demand that they stay out of their affairs. The real problem here is that we are still thinking along clan lines. Would the involvement of the president be problematic if he was from kismaayo and not magadishu (i.e. he had clan affiliations with Kismaayo)? Xiin- this is why SL is such a success. I’m sure clan motivations are there but what is even a bigger motivation for our brothers and sisters up north is peace and prosperity for their land. For us however, we are still stuck in the 90s. The fact that we even care what clan the president, prime minister and ministers are is sad enough without even getting into all this. Anyway Xiin, what happened? SOL politics get to you brother .

    A lil Secret!

I've never understood why some men/boys feel like they can dictate orders to their sisters. She is your equal, not your daughter. Narniah, It seems like the feelings are mutual so give the brother a hint of some sort. Take it from there inshallah and leave your brothers out of it.
  8. To be honest Baashi i doubt any Somali restaurant in Australia will be 'presentable' to your colleagues, let alone one in Perth. I say this only because i know the standards of the Somali restaurants in the northern hemisphere- we have some catching up to do. But then again you might be more forgiving with your expectations. Anyhow, have fun, i'm sure it will be a big change. Make sure you visit Freemantle though.
  9. Jacaylbaro- i'm waiting for the national broadband network to reach my xaafad. Anyhow, it's the only downfall of living here, everything else is just perfect really!
  10. Juxa- Glad to be back sister, how have you been? Hope all is well in your neck of the woods. Abu Salman- Thanks NGONGE- what can I say; the break has softened my skin. As for the internet providers in Oz, you are onto something- I live in an inner city suburb and only have access to wireless internet because all the ports are supposedly taken.
  11. Mabrook on the addition NGONGE- time for your hiatus?
  12. What a joke, a million dollar home neighbouring a refuge for IDP? Classic case of a failed state- i pray that this changes soon I'A.
  13. NGONGE, Be nice, at least let me ease back into it before you let me have it . As for the absence, what can I say, working mothers have it tough. Alhamdullilah they are finally sleeping all night so I can have some ME time- SOL is on the list of activities for ME time. School starts at the age of 5 in Oz but he’ll be going to Kindergarten next year I’A. NORF, Alhamdullilah we are well. I see your little ones have grown up so fast mashallah. Hope they’re keeping you on your toes .
  14. MMA, Alhamdullilah i'm still kicking- i do roam from time to time, but like many others life took over. Work and family commitments leave little time for much else. As for Xamar, how i long for the day that i can experience the Xamar that my parents speak so fondly of- inshallah soon.
  15. MMA- thanks for sharing. Every time i see photos like these i feel cheated.
  16. Mabruuk Thierry- may Allah bless her and your family. She is very cute mashallah .
  17. Isn't it amazing how we all have choice and can do as we like? Good luck in yours
  18. In threads like this you learn a lot about people;) Qabiil (or its pseudonym region) has never been an issue for me, hence why my husband and I are as different as they come. What matters is how strongly they value their qabiil and/or dhaqan- too strongly and a no no. NGONGE, you've got to be kidding right? Are you actually trying to argue that Islam allows for discrimination based on qabiil?
  19. Cynically, I was thinking gabdho yar-yar oo gacanta lamarmariyey who are afraid they will be doomed to hell if they endorse my point were the ones who are acting as apologists for adulterers. Is there any point to this discussion? This is a clear cut issue, not even one where there are two different opinions of almost equal strength. This was not an attempt to convince you, rather just inform you. Whether or not you wish to accept it is your business. Anyway, SOL is not the place to do such research. BTW, it is a type of arrogance to believe that you are a better Muslim then one who commits zina. Forgiveness is with Allah and He might choose to forgive the sins of such a person and grant them jannah. We should never loose hope in the mercy of Allah even though we may commit major sins. Perhaps it will be the prayer that will save them from jahanam!
  20. Prayer is not a burden, it is something that one should enjoy. Also, prayer is compulsory for every muslim. Whilst it is a sin, commiting zina does not nullify ones Islam so long as they acknowledge that it is forbidden in Islam.
