  1. Howdy Carafaat. Your German is as bad as mine, ma istidhi.
  2. It's a cute car, what's the quality like, I wonder?
  3. Funny how it's always the privileged few (and no, I'm not counting the above SOLers) who lament about population growth. Perhaps they should stop consuming the lion's share of the world's resources if they wanna save the planet? A high birth rate is the only thing going for deprived Somalis right now - children are their investment and future pension.
  4. Naxar, lol OK...I'll take your word for it. Mussels and chips, best Belgian export after chocolates. Ghelle, thanks for the confirmation.
  5. It's eaten with seaweed, FB. What's appealing is the fusion of the almost tasteless fish and the incredibly dhanaan seaweed. I think you could like it, if you gave it a chance. I only ate it a couple of times myself because I don't trust the freshness of the fish in normal restaurants. I'll only give it a try if am at the seaside.
  6. FB, Yes, it's fresh thinly sliced raw fish. I think sushi normally contains rice, laakiin ma hubo. Naxar, cream cheese and salmon are an amazing combination. Frog legs puzzle me though: there's not much meat there, so what's the point of dining on sticks?
  7. Looks like copyright infringement to me.
  8. Asian food (SE & Far East) is probably my most favourite, Indian my least (too spicy). By the way, Vietnamese and Cambodian food are quite tasty. Most exotic food...mmm....would probably say shell fish. Mussels used to creep me out until I ate some - pretty macaan. I also used to think raw fish was yucky until I had sashimi. It blew my mind.
  9. What I love the most about dadkeena: their warmth, hospitality and kindness.

  11. Somalidu abaal ma laha, Juxa. Bal inoo sii wad, am sure lots of people will appreciate the info. Showqi, I doubt ayeeyo iyo awoowe would be reading SOL but those with vested interest in this topic can share the info with their family/friends.
  12. LoL @ as soon as I learn how to swim. Good luck with that, Somalia.
  13. Guri madhan ma deyn lahayd adigoo u baahan, Oba? Sidii marba dhinac loogu qaxayay, ayaa marba guri loo degayay. Dadka ka maqan waxma uma tarayo, kuwa u baahan ayuu wax u taraya. But I agree those houses need to return to their owners when requested, but something needs to be done to help those who don't have anywhere else to live.
  14. LoL..that old khasab. Waxay ilatahay waa in dadkaas shelter loo diyaariyo before turfing them out. It doesn't help the city to make so many people homeless, given the thousands of displaced people that are already there.
  15. Mukulaalow, damn that's too close. Somalia;817444 wrote: Imagine surfing in those areas? Not the best way to go.
  16. They are probably looking for a local candidate, but then why is the advert in English?
  17. Laga yaabaa, wyre. It makes sense.
  18. They say the under ocean earthquake was a magnitude of 8.9. Does anyone remember the magnitude of the 04 Indonesian quake? Some Asian countries have already issued evacuation orders. Allow sahal.
  19. Lovely pictures and great commentary, Nuune. Glad inaan lagu sixrin.
  20. Very good step. Will there be legislation to support enforcement? I can't see anyone easily vacating the house they've been living in for a decade or more.

And claiming Islam and Muslims have a monopoly on violence? Just silly. Give condolences if you are able, otherwise: Lakum dinukum waliyadin.
  23. As a procrastinator, this is a difficult sentiment for me to practice.
  24. Wa calaykum wa salaam, Juxa. Easter weekend was very quiet, even the birds stopped singing. Hope you had a good break too.
