It seems that your main argument is that Abdiweli with all his education, capability experience and proven success is the wrong candidate because he happens to be the Duke's cousin. Adeer that's your problem and not mine. The main thing here is that Somalia has never had a more capable individual at the helm, and I am confident that he would do a great job as the head of state. Look even the man's wife is a Professor of Economics, a woman who is engaged in Somalia's issue and who champions the rights of our better halves. So unlike any other candidate with Abdiweli Somalia will get a first lady who is more educated than most Somali politicians. So again don't get angry and froth from the mouth that Abdiweli is from a certain clan and so on. He is more qualified, has what it takes and is the favorite thus far. -

Mr. Guled bless his heart is a candidate and a man who would be a great Presidnet, however we are talking about who is likely to win, not who I want to win and my prediction regardless is Abdiweli. Oba Sharif Ahmed event yesterday was a clownish affair... how one would vote for that joker is beyond me.. -

Somalia's president has shielded a top pirate leader from arrest by issuing him a diplomatic passport, according to a United Nations investigation which criticises the "climate of impunity" enjoyed by pirate kingpins in Somalia and abroad. The UN Monitoring Group on Somalia said in a report to the Security Council that senior pirate leaders were benefitting from high level protection from Somali authorities and were not being sufficiently targeted for arrest or sanction by international authorities. The Group said it had obtained evidence a diplomatic passport had been provided "with the authorization of Somali President Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmed" to pirate leader Mohamed Abdi Hassan "Afweyne", who presented it to authorities in Malaysia on a trip there in April. Questioned by Malaysian immigration, Afweyne provided a document issued by the Somali presidency stating he was involved in counter-piracy activities, the report said. It said that Somalia's President Ahmed had told the Group the passport was "one of several inducements" for Afweyne aimed at obtaining the dismantling of his pirate network. In a July 12 letter to the Chairman of the Security Council's Sanctions Committee, obtained by Reuters, Ahmed called the contents of the Monitoring Group's report "one-sided". The letter said the principal author of the UN report, whom it did not name, "seems hell bent on soiling the good names of private members of the Somali people by throwing at them unsubstantiated allegations". Somali government officials in Mogadishu could not be reached for comment. The UN report has also riled the authorities in the semi-autonomous region of Puntland, who are criticised for failing to arrest well-known senior pirate leaders, in spite of a counter-piracy campaign that has reportedly resulted in the arrest of hundreds of low-level pirates. The report said that only one Puntland based pirate leader, Abshir Boyah, had been arrested by the Puntland authorities but said his jail sentence of only five years contrasted sharply with terms of up to 20 years given to junior pirate figures. Successful Somali pirate hijackings have been declining steadily since 2010, partly the result of intensive international naval operations and the use of private security on maritime vessels, but pirate leaders are adapting and diversifying into new businesses, the UN report said. Confirming this trend, the International Maritime Bureau (IMB) said on Monday that tougher action by international navies and the use of private armed guards on ships have more than halved the number of Somali pirate attacks in the first half of 2012.

Mr ambassador;851913 wrote: after the monitoring groups report, I don't think so. plus this guy has no self-confidence he is scared from Faroole he fears him for some reason. The monitoring group has killed off Sharif Ahmed delusions and the timeline in question Abdiweli was not even PM. As for fearing Faroole, not sure what you mean by that, Abdiweli was attacked by a suicide bomber and yet continued with his job regardless, that is the sort of toughness the Somali nation needs. Also the greatest progress politically has taken place in his tenure. Again read the Monitoring groups report and like I said this man is the front runner... -
Prof. Abdiweli Mohamed Ali From talking to influential individuals inside Somalia and throughout the Diaspora and also by following the current political maneuvers of the international community. I can at last with good confidence state that Dr. Abdiweli Mohamed Ali, will more than likely be elected President of Somalia. Aside from my own prediction he has proven beyond a shred of any doubt that he is capable, has the right mindset and what it takes to lead the shattered nation out of its current situation.

Not sure why people are foaming from re mouth, Jigjiga is an important city and one that should be supported and utilized by those who can milk the cow. Those who fear an alliance and say there is no such thing ah well we have pictures and all you have is a prisoner complex. Let the sea farers set you free lad..
