This is good news. Puntland leadership will join the meeting. A most welcome development...

I agree our brothers in SOL are just pandering to the usual anti Puntland groups. However Turkey is not a problem nor do they care for our weak divisions as Somali's. We should not be the people who take every opportunity to lose an opportunity. The Somali people need an ally and Turku has been a good ally so far. The restoration of the Republic is an ideal that the people of Puntland.

Faroole is the current leader of the State. Criticism of his actions is well and good, however we need not confuse the State with the man. This is not on the interest of Somalia. The Turkish involvement is a positive one.

I disagree with President Faroole on this, however, it's quite amusing to read about all the over the top attacks on Puntland from the usual suspects. I am also against the claim that Turkey is helping only one area, Turkey is helping Somali's and that's an important point. We the people of Puntland are a proud and resourceful Bunch, who have build a viable State fr scratch. Thus the admin have made a big mistake in this and they need to rectify this, the sooner the better.

Its a most welcome development that Somaliland (NW regions) is in this conference...

The conference in Isanbul is a great opportunity for Somalia and it is ludicrous for a leader to have taken such a selfish and absurd stance. The excuses made for rejecting the conference, were absurd as and not logical. At a time when we are isolated as a people and when the only solution brought forth by our neighbors and Western nation has been military intervention. The Turks entrance has been injection of fresh Oxygen into the Somali Political lungs....

I like the image from the conference, the Turks have done a fine job in Somalia and I hope it continues....

Puntland will not be a Republic and shall remain part of Somalia. Everything else is the delusions of mad men.

An absurd move on behalf of Puntland & Galmudug. They should go to Turkey and participate in the discussions. Specially the reconstruction and development part. I am not sure how Staying outside benefits them. However I welcome the new closeness between the two. I just wished it was focused more on security and building bridges on the ground in Mudug, it's a start.

I like that, the new Oil province of the world. Consider that North Dakota has 6600 wells pumping 500,000 b a day. Puntland has one well drilled and millions of b anticipated. It's a huge development one that I a big supporter did not expect.

^^^Burn Notice, thanks for the update.. Reading between the lines, this project has been a success. Finding Oil in the first well is quite remarkable and now we await the second drilling in Shab Nth.. I remember a time when naysayers used to say there was no Oil exploration at all or that the region was not secure enough. Now its they have found no Oil and the drilling has stopped. We have all come a long way. I believe all issues will be ironed out in the meeting to be held in Addis this week. The signatories to the road map with the international community will all be attending. Top of the agenda are the 36 points that Puntland would like to be revised. Don't believe the hype, its not as bad as some are reporting..

^^^It seems you enjoy having dialogue with yourself. Insha Allah this constitution will pass and Somalia will have a rebirth... So far so good, nothing comes easy and the little noise will subside. As for Puntland its playing its role, its constitution gives it enough powers and direction to do its own thing if others are not ready yet..
