^^ No one is perfect. There are racist among all people. It just so happens people in Burco are known for their straight talk and that can sometimes be construed as being racist. The number of people who claim northern Somalis are racist is very high. Racist towards what and who? There appears to be a lot of hatrad directed towards at northerners. isnt it any wonder that Somaliland wants to secede. Who are the racist somalis marka? When you compare Joseph Conrad's Heart of Darkness with Chinua Achebe's Things Fall Apart. I can visualise what Malika is mapping out! Though, I believe that Achebe was right to write in English as this novel was targeted at the white man and to show him the humanity of Africans. ^^There is always a whistle blower in every community. As a fellow northern Somali, I have to agree with NG. Its a different level of racism. Its refreshing LOL! Sayid, Its not that I have suffered any racism from Hindus. But I find their caste system and racist customs to be appalling run ahaan. Whats more, I cant believe some people accept these customs and commit themselves to living a terrible life because of some cultural custom. I pity the dalits.

Nuune, Northern Somalis are hospitable, gentle and well- mannered people with no racist streak in them. We even let our daughters marry other Somalis. edit: I guess I was too kind on southerners and Puntlanders. But the friends i have from these regions changed my opinions about people beyond las anod. Alcohol is no big deal these days. a good number of somalis have a sipp of that. It use to be that the older generation were the ones who indulged in this social destructive substance. These days, alcohol abuse has become rampant amongst younger people too. The Eurotrash people are responsible for the increased use of alcohol in the Somali community particularly in the UK. I hear alcohol abuse is more common among Somalis in north America.
