Also it quite ironic how Universal Tv sees Somalis as being more than just Mogadishu but other channels continually portray all of Somalia as one and the same - Mogadishu The anchors are mostly from Somaliland because they have training in Media and speaks standard and proper Somali. only a few of those reporters from xamar can actually muster a few words of standard Somali, sometimes i don't even understand the words they utter. Also most of the universal programmes are aimed at people in the diaspora and the overwheminglu majority of these people are somalilanders.

I have to say Universal have made great strides these past years but who makes those pathetic videos that come on the salamaha programme. All the videos are tacky except that new one from Nimco Dareen. My favourite programmes are the socdaalka Kameraada and the social affairs programme where they talk about different issues facing the community.

Universal Ramadan coverage has been excellent. Since I posted this, its made a number of improvement especially having a impartial editional line and having more coverage on Somaliland and Puntland equally. Whether this explains their monopoly on Somali New Media is debatable esp since both Raad and Warsan no longer exist.

I am not hater personally. I give credit where its due, however puntland seems to be asking for more credit then it is worth and produced. You can call it raw envy or whatever but You and I and all somali people know that PL is a clan-state with no rule of law, with no territorial integrity. It has hyper-inflation and full of pirates that have shamed all somali people. It is the gateway for the exodus of somalis and others leaving east africa, often dying before they have reached their destination. It is in limbo, it is neither an independent country like Somaliland nor comes under Sharif hotel jurisdication. What is to hate therefore. Have you ever been to Puntland Mr.Somalia?
