Ninbrown, I am not familiar with medical operations. I also do not know about how it takes place, but I know of at least a number of Somali people suing the NHS for negligence. The removal of ovaries of Somali women has happened a number of times. This has been authenticated by private health care. That is all I am saying on this matter. Good Luck with your research!

Cara, Norf, Nephissa - These things happen and there a number of legal proceedings happening right now as we speak. To say that Somali people believe in urban legends shows your disconnection with the on-goings of your community. There is also a tendency of people mistrusting the health care system but this is justified as a number of studies have proven.

I wouldn't go as far as calling it Neutrality syndrome Adam. What you are describing sounds like all the hallmarks of self-hating Somali syndrome. To say this process is Neutral implies that the people in question have made some evaluation of dating a non-Somali and have decided that its better than dating a Somali person. In actually fact, most Somalis who date non Somali haven't even considered the thought of dating one of their own. They want to date others because they associate Somalis with failure. For them dating non-Somali equates to moving up the ladder. I am sure when you use to date Dutch girls you made no evaluation of the benefits of dating a Somali chick, but since you had all the traits of a self-hating Somali, dating Dutch girls was an 'escapism' for you.

Burqa/Niqab: To Ban or Not To Ban, That is The Question
MAXIMUS POWERS replied to LayZie G.'s topic in General
How many Muslim women actually love to wear the Burqa? Its aesthetically deplorable. Sarkozy is a stylish man who wants all French women to look like Carla Bruni. I am not anti-Hijab. I just think its not really necessary to wear a Burqa in the West. People who want to wear it should if they chose to but there is no need to force women to wear it. Iman is in the heart not the length of beard or the depth of your burqa. -
There is a changing attitude towards dating in the Somali Community. Things have changed and perhaps its time to embrace change. In my days, I wasn't allowed to date or even talk to girls albeit with minimal success. Now you see 15 Year olds going on linkages (urban british inner city Somalish slang meaning: When you on a prospective date). Its nice when you have your first girlfriend then you realise its a downward decline from there on. Its not a big deal and people shouldn't take this issue serious. Good Islamic and Somali cultural upbringing should hold young people in good stead. I dont think young people like to have boyfriends and girlfriends, its just a phase and a status symbol. I bet everyone remembers their first girlfriend/boyfriend . I was about 14 and she was 17. These days I keep it to a four at time! its not easy, its messy but it requires hard work and a lot of effort! All the awards are mine! and my favourite one is on the right! Her name is Ellen Mohamed.

Saalam Ninbrown, This is an issue that has gained a lot of attention recently in 'our' community. I heard from reliable sources that there have been a number of incidents involving Somali people. The most common according to my source is the theft of ovaries in somali women. This has happened a number of times and whats more its usually involves young fertile somali women. Some of these victims become infertile after they are operated on and their ovaries are removed or stolen. There are reported incidents in a number of hostipals in East London and South London. Unfortunately many of these victims are unaware until they try to conceive a baby. Many put it down to an Act of God but there is a deliberate ploy to remove the ovaries of young beautiful Somali women. I have also heard that a number of people have lost their kidneys in bizarre medical operations. More bizarre medical mishaps being substantiated as I write this comment.... Will find more inshallah!

I think a break away from here and maybe a visit to other places might be good for my sense of..err..balance. sense of balance kulaha! you dont have an opinion sxb and even if you do its slightly skewed to the middle. As for the obituary, well its all stuff and nonesense so maha?? Anyways you are a SOL legend and this place wouldnt be the same without you!

I see your still writing NG, I thought you planned to quit SOL after 10,000 posts of self-opinionated bile. I was getting ready to write your obituary.

Duke, Your irrelevance on this forum is becoming more evident by the day. First you chose a bunch of failed leaders as heroes then couldn't defend your case. No you tell us that Steve jobs is arab! - This is not the kind of knowledge i joined this forum to learn. Stay in the politics section and continue to be a propagandist for the Puntland government. btw, JB is winning the most post race, if you think your going to beat him by posting that steve Jobs is a hasidic arab! think again adeer! This is just pathetic.

^^^ah so Khayr is one of those reborn akhiis! MashAllah sxb. I think I will be joining you soon. Since this a musical thread: Another tune from my favourite Xamaarwi group:
-
CL, we are more similar than you'll ever know. Khayr - What do music and race have in common? Your backwardness is all too obvious to for all to see! this is 2009 not 1998! This nice Xamaarwi tune is so relaxing:

The Burqa belongs to a by-gone era. It has no place in France. It removes the woman of her personality and character! Its not Islamic nor familiar to the Somali psyche.
-
NG, that's a classic example right there! I use watch that programme all the time. Classic stuff indeed.

Women easily get tired of men with no opinion and personality. Siren you too will get tired of a passive man.

Siyad, Walaalo, I think there has been a severe miscommunication. I haven't had access to SOL PM services since July 2008, which was the same time You would have probably sent the email. This has been unfortunate punishment which has greatly hindered my communication with other members on this forum. Whatsmore, I cannot edit my profile or profile name or signature. Which I would liked to change by now. I am not sure who recommend me to the mentoring programme but there is no need to be cautious about anything. I am a professional who gives 100% every time. All the best sxb. Saalam

Sayid, This is the Email you sent to me on the Wed, 30 Jul 2008 16:37:12 Dear Mr **** I hope this email address is manned during holidays. If it is so, I would be most appreciative if whomsoever reading this were to contact me on the details re recruiting Somali undergraduates mentors for local mainstream schools. Many thanks in advance for your anticipated help. ***** ***** -------------------- -- My Response: Saalam ***** Apologies for the late reply. I will try to organise a meeting when the term starts. Let me know more about the project and whats involved. Thanks Salam. ***** **** You never got back to me Sayid. I was actually interested in your mentoring project. My heart was in the right place but I would have really helped with the project but you didnt reply back, yet you say on a public forum that: ''if [you] remember correctly i wrote to you several times on that Somali students society at QMU - you came back to me with promises of help to no avail upto now. It is OK thought - i know your heart is in the right place''. That not what happened sxb! At least try to tell the true. Making me look bad in public is not necessary. I am not the usual opportunisitic Somali. If I said I will help then I would have helped. Saalam
