With privileges such as those, comes more responsibility. He admitted to having sex with this woman. He admitted to doing something morally wrong. He wasn't blaming the woman, his wife, or the Colorado law enforcement agent, he was blaming himself. This isn't the behavior of someone legally guilty of anything in my book. Don't know about you though. So why should i give her the benefit of the doubt because she "said" he raped me..   .. Jaaaaaaawe You are making yourself look ignorant right now...what do you mean 'you are prepared to say'..lol..are you a lawyer, a forensic scientist, a doctor, a cop? Don't believe the hype ok...even a groupie can say NO..... Imagine that happened to you..and people 'thought' you were promiscuous? They would not believe your *** just like you are convinced she is lying. peace
  2. No. Because I know my mom would never "wish" someone on me. This is the rest of your life you are talking about..and cheating yourself out of a life you can have. I think a parent who truly loves their child would not force someone down their daughter's throat. peace

According to my mom, when there is an islamic discussion going on, the angels are protecting us. How can I be placed in hell if I have a genuine question? So you should say..I should close my eyes and let the nearest sheikh lead me towards the right path? I don't think so. Islam is a completed religion, therefore there is no place for phrases such as “I think…” and “but…(after clear proof has been given)”. One either has daleel (proof) or not. And even for rulings based on Qiyaas and ijtihad- I’m quiet sure no one here is qualified to give any! Lets go back to the 4 scholars....they disagree with each other in many of the matters...so according to you, they shouldn't have raised those issues that they disagree with? Doesn't make any sense. And how about the modern scholars, don't they not modify older rulings?

Thanks for telling me what I MUST do...by the way..which translation should I be following (since there is so many) ..and while we're in the subject ..which scholar should I be following (since there are so many)... I'll have a look-see about the "ibn kathiir" version you are reading..maybe that will help me understand where you are coming from. Funny thing is...there are so many rules and restrictions in the hadith and from the madhabs than there is in the Koran...so Excuse me for having doubts about HUMAN ERROR! My faith is in GOD..the unseen..not scholars who came centuries after! That's where I stand at the moment...I've been a muslim all my life and I suggest that you don't treat me as if I just stepped into it today, ok?
  5. ^ I wonder! lol All I can say is Thank God for my samsung!
  6. *ahem* bad news people, I'm back. But I do have the following people to address: Kahyr Brother, what exactly about my posts angers you? That I have questions or that I look into other interpretations? point clarification: I asked a question regarding INTERPRETATION of verses and not the actual arabic verse itself. As we all know, there ARE varying interpretations by scholars about many verses . ... The deen is not yours only, and I have every God-given right to ask any sort of question I want if it makes me a better believer. Do you want to stone me for that? lol...Do not have a complex with me bro because you can quote the koran all day....but you can't even carry out a simple debate about an issue in Islam. God blessed us with healthy minds...so i suggest you start USING IT. Bee , Thanks for having my back girl. But it is not even worth...I wonder how he learned the religion if he never voiced any questions. To everyone else: It will make your life easier if you actually read what the post was about before you jump to any conclusions. Or at least understand the question that was asked. (no names mentioned)
  7. hell yeah it will affect us. Directly or indirectly. Some of you may even think you are not included in the group. But you are because now companies don't have quotas to fullfill and no incentive to hire a minority or a female. If they want an all white company..they are going to have one. So if you are black and you are woman in Cali and DC..well..much luck to yah!
  8. bulo, So you are saying that the Koran is an incomplete book and that we should follow the hanafi, shafi'i, maliki and hanbali rulings because THEY are complete? Make me understand this concept?
  9. ^Darman, you are right. This issue is important to me. Khayr, Why are you attacking me? What do you mean watch my tone? Where in my previous post (in regards to the ayaat) was I rude or assumptious? you tell me never to question the words of allah, you are right about that, yessirree bob! But I could question interpretations of the Koran! That is my right...and if you tell me I can even ask any questions concerning religion, then you are SADLY mistaken. I am not a blind follower. If you choose to be, thats your perogative. Allah (s.a.w) said that His book is the COMPLETE book...and in this case, if you look CLOSELY at the ayaat...it doesn't say cover the hair...just the neck and the bosom. So don't sit there and tell me you see otherwise.... brother, YOU watch the tone you take with me next time..obviously you have some issues with me because I ask QUESTIONS and I say what I think. If that is a problem to you, well...you know where to shove it peace Ps: yes I have opinions. we all do. What's your point?
  10. Hijab= modesty... there are different interpretations for hijab..and the prevalant one is that it includes: hair, neck, bosom, arms, legs, and sometimes hands. Hijab (the head covering) was practiced in the pre-islamic eras. Its not just a muslim thing! Even romans women with money used to cover their heads. But I am curious about one thing though since you guys are using this ayaat to justify your convictions: "Allah Ta'ala says: "And tell the believing women to lower their gaze and guard their private parts from sin and not show of their adornment except only that which is apparent, and draw their headcovers over their necks and bosoms and not reveal their adornment except to their husbands, their fathers, their husbands' fathers, their sons, their husbands' sons, their brothers, or their brothers' sons, or their sisters' sons, or their women (i.e., their sisters in Islam), or their female slaves whom their right hands possess, or old male servants free of physical desires, or small children who have no sense of women's nakedness. And let them not stamp their feet so as to reveal what they hide of their adornment. And turn unto Allah altogether, O you Believers, in order that you may attain success.[An-Nur, 24:31] Prophet, Tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to draw their outer garments about themselves (when they go out). That is better so that they may be recognised and not molested. And Allah is Forgiving, Merciful. [Al-Ahzaab, 33:59] " Where on that ayaat does it include the covering of the hair?
  11. lol..somealien..just read that article on MSN..
  12. Damn it! I'm getting there. I don't suck, but I've got a ways to go.
  13. uhmm... I'm thinking about getting out of WORK!!! and getting to my hair appointment.
  14. Did you guys forget that he is married to Maria Shriver....one of the kennedys. He was very much into politics before you even heard of him for all you know. I think he is a good actor and who knows if he is a good politician. If you guys haven't actually noticed, alot of actors/actresses and wannebes live there....are you telling me none of them can think of a career in politics?
  15. her saying she was raped by him is enough evidence. Unless you can prove otherwise. So why am I going to give HIM the benefit of the doubt because he is cute and rich and talented. He is incapable as anybody else on the street!
  16. So you are now telling me that women can not be the boss of men? and that the example set by Khadijah should be ignored?
  17. Somealien, Put bluntly, men want to control women and oppress them. They want them covered, hidden, and imprisoned in their homes. Their "laws" are tailored towards men. They don't allow people the freedom to practice the deen as Allah (s.a.w) said. Just look at every country who installed a shari'a law..and tell me this is not so. Look at the Saudis who don't allow women to drive! If anyone here disagrees with these, please tell me how this is not so!
  18. Qac Qac, You still didn't answer the question.
  19. Enter, That's a direct quote from the Koran. Check the suraah and the ayaat for yourself (24:60)
