  1. I will respond when you finish your writing and explain what the possible reasoning was for people to the start an armed struggle against the socialist autocracy.
  2. Excellent move by the President of Somaliland, and Prime-Minister/President of Somalia showing true Diplomacy, Empathy, Solidarity and Somalinimo, the ingredients of the kind of true Statesmanship Somali people need, irrelevant of leaders political differences, past occurrences and underlying motives and goals.
  3. You will understand in due time.
  4. Indeed, and this is what many don’t seem to get that internal infightings are weakening the institutions and will make an Afghanistan like scenario more plausible by the day. Very unfortunate!!
  5. please mention sources before you state inaccurate accounts of history and propagate ‘revisionism’. Your point in debate seems to be ‘if’ one had only known the consequences, would they have acted the same or differently with the knowledge of today. Which seems to me a hypothetical questions that’s quite useless to debate 30 years later after events have already occurred and not sure what it contributes to the current status quo.
  6. Xaaji, your definitions seem to be quite narrowly defined. Cause you forget about those leaseholders that paid years of rent in advance and their losses? And the street and market stalls aren’t they also regarded as properties that are worth value and how about those thousands of informal street traders who lost their daily income. the building owners that you are talking about have earned back their investments dozens of time. It’s the small traders that one should worry about.
  7. Xaaji, don’t get distracted the issue isn’t about all those offering sympathy and support.
  8. How is this possible? Who excluded him from the list of elected MPs and on what basis?
  9. Dowlada Somalia contributing 3 mln dollar to Hargeisa market disaster relief.
  10. Your only saying that because you think a Puntland candidate wouldn’t care about Somaliland and maintain status quo.
  11. Somalia’s next government should prioritise the talks and negotiations with Somaliland. Not just appoint another guddi consisting of national politicians repeating mantras, but ensure serieus effort through well prepared and coordinated at the highest with senior and experienced diplomats and state politicians conducting the talks supported by senior international technocrats and experts (the same also goes for Somaliland). Even though Somaliland is far away from Mogadishu, both in geographic and political distance and Somalia has many other major concerning and pressing issues that require urgency in solving. But without a clear framework agreement with Somaliland it will remain weak and compromised both externally and internally, externally in its international relations, strength and standing and internally in its state structures and collaboration with different government regions and layers, which is undermining and compromising it’s cohesion to tackle those challenges, if doesn’t address them in the right order.
  12. The first point of pacifying Galkacyo is quite a significant achievement and if he has also on top improved relations with the South-Galkacyo/Galmudug folks, then I think that could be quite a powerful campaign platform. Interesting analysis. Deni seems to be quite the sharp business man who has identified an opportunity in the political market, with an open field without any alternative candidates from the wider clan umbrella and utilize that to leverage his candidacy and the few seats from Puntland to gain significant leverage on federal level contrary to the other state leaders.
  13. Waa runtaa ma heyno cidii wax badaleysay, laakinse maaha dab baxa oo jira ina shidaal lagu sii shubo ama lasii huriyo. Adding fuel to the fire will make the already precarious situation of conflict intensify, and reaching any kind of resolution of understanding even more challenging. History should have thought us by now that creating perpetual external enemies to distract the masses, can and does easily spread to creating internal perpetual enemies.
  14. I would rather recommend him, someone like General Duke or Dr.Osman as a campaign manager, as they had a talent for spinning and propaganda which I have not so far discovered in your contributions.
  15. You state that he can walk (freely and peacefully) from Galkacyo to Gardafu? This statement is suggesting or rather insinuating that he contributed to pacification or conflict resolution in different areas of Puntland. Is that the case? If that is the case and you have concrete examples, then indeed he has positive achievements to campaign on. I have personally not followed developments in Puntlands politics over the last few years, so excuse my ignorance. I have only seen the President of Puntland twice catch national media attention, first was his speech on efforts to ’mediate’ or ‘unseat’ Farmaajo with the opposition, and second the debacle in Bosasso mind of which neither I would regard as a positive achievement. Hence why you might have to enlighten us and those of us that are ignore of his track record.
  16. Even if they are not serieus at this stage, they seem to have gathered quite some int support and backing for their case in a very short period.
  17. Xaaji, that song is getting a bit old by now. Sheeko cusub iyo Siyasad cusub ayaa loo baahan yahay.
  18. The issue raised here is isn’t about the clan of the candidate but his achievements and his political platform. Non of what your describe above is credited to Deni, but maybe we have missed that or are not fully aware of his achievements, in that case you might want to enlighten us. P.S. not saying other candidates are better, but he currently holds an executive office which will lead to questions about his achievements. Same goes for other candidates like Farmaajo, and those who have held executive office in the past should also be questioned on their achievements, e.g. Sheick Sharif, Ahmed Sheick and Kheyre.
  19. Let us hope and pray that Somalia’s election take place peacefully and end in the election of the right political leaders to take the country forward, which is also in the interest of Somaliland.
  20. Which actually would be quite good argument to elect someone who hails from those regions, who can build bridges with those communities that feel marginalised and excluded and which have been easy pray for Shabaab, and to find ways to deal with Al Shabaab for once and all. But it all depends on having the right candidate, who can consolidate political support and build alliances and bridges with various political groups.
  21. What If Fahad Yassin Runs for President of Somalia? HIIRAAN.COM There are reports that Baidoa, is currently planning to host a new political alliance between Rahweyne and Dir. The potential... Could he pull it off? P.S. very bizarre article, not sure what to make of it.
  22. Not sure what his political platform or track record is in Puntland that we can judge him by or would expect him to bring to Mogadishu. There are other politicians from Puntland with a far better CV then Mr:Deni here, Faroole would come to mind.
  23. That is not possible at the moment, as long as the war with Al Shabaab has not come to and end.
  24. How Ukraine's Jewish president Zelensky made peace with neo-Nazi paramilitaries on front lines of war with Russia - The Grayzone THEGRAYZONE.COM While Western media deploys Volodymyr Zelensky’s Jewish heritage to refute accusations of Nazi influence in Ukraine...
  25. Both sides entered in to these talks unprepared and without a clear agenda and strategy, what they brought to table was lofty principles decorated with emotional talking points for the public. Typical Somali’s.
