    Tell us what weapons will defeat them that one doesn’t already have access to? And besides even if FGS brings in the weapons, assuming the current flows remains intact even regions and AS will get access to it as well and can even bring in their own weapons via third countries.

    People in Somaliland are in a state of shock and are guessing what the purpose is the Ethiopian Oromo priests send by Abiy, being courted and promoted by Somaliland gov as Dir allies. Its seems that Somaliland regime is showing its true colors that it’s even prepared to bargain with the soul and essence of the people to remain in power. I can’t make anything else of this.

    Security and Affordable road transportation, it cost like 4 dollars and less then 90 min to get from Hargeisa to Borama, Jigjiga to Borama is two hours. If security and affordability of road transportation between Mogadishu and other south central cities like Beletweyn, Jowhar, Baidoa was similar to Hargeisa/Borama, you would neither have air transport in those environs. I am not saying it’s impossible but to create economic viable air transport, you would either need a national air career that can reduce significantly the cost of air transport (e.g. Ethiopian airlines) to reach an economics of scale. Or have much more economic activities in the regions(e.g. tourism) and significant middle class(see Kenya) but we are from that point. In either case government restrictions should be curbed down to reduce time and cost of air travel and promote carriers to expand linkages.

    Airports in Borama or Burco Airport are economically not viable, better focus on other sorts of economic infrastructure rather then waisting money and distraction people with comical ‘dhagax dhig’.

    As you said, Somaliland didn’t realize when they had an opportunity and leverage, and now they are suddenly open to talks while one doesn’t have much to demand at the moment without SSC at the table, atleast nothing more then Puntland or Southwest could demand. Sheeko ciyaal.

    P.S. If Muse folks make another dumb move like moving the Wajale road away from Awdal folks owned land, that would mean the end of things but then clearly instigators are the Muse folks.

    Yes, Somaliland politicians are petrified of any sort uprising from Awdal corners and are moving heaven and earth to prevent that. And yes Awdal folks are angry for Muse’s folks robbing the country. But so far havent heard any bright ideas coming from those corners, except Galbeedi wanting Ethiopia to Annex Awdal and becoming fully part of the Jaarso-Oromo nation, finishing the job his ancestors started.

    In general, I don’t have much expectations of substantial changes or revolutions coming from Reer Awdal, Gebileys or Jabuuti folks politics for that matter. You may prove me wrong though.

    Told you so, Berbera uprising is more likely to change the equation then opportunistic Galbeedi’s folks.

    Deni is not serieuz about talks, otherwise he would enter that stage much earlier before filling Garowe with militias and escalating things to this extend.
