There is no one single Ethiopian flag in that parade. With TPLF in the North and Oromo in the South , the Amhara should be very afraid. With the OFC gaining ground, the Amhara should unite behind Abiy to survive.\ The IMF, World Bank and EU had approved $9.2 billion loans to Ethiopia. In fact, 2.9 billion of that money will be released soon. Abiy Ahmed will have enough cash to throw around and win the whole thing. It was the first loan from the west since 2006.

It is the stupid politician trying to make this small issue a big one. Pay the poor police officer enough money then complain. In Somaliland the police are really working under tough conditions while keeping the peace. I will not take any lecture from corrupt Xildhibaan who makes few thousands for salary.

Walaahi I thought to write the same thing. Waad iga hormartay. Abiy will see that we the nomads are everywhere. Do not mess with us.

In 1960 when the blue flag was raised in Hargeisa at midnight, there was little drizzle of rain. People were huddling together both men and women. in the subsequent flowing years, when someone felt anxiety of depressed ,m people used to say, " Waar way bugtaaye bandhiga beerta xoriyada geeya" The people are the same. We crossed many mountains and rivers like mist nations do. People fall in their lifetime rise. Why we Somalis refuse ro rise and take our place among free nations of the world. We are nomads by nature. We can not be quarantined or caged in small enclave. I was born in deep West of the republic , yet I am thriving in continental North America. A gas station in my neighborhood has more revenue than Borama city. Major wars took place between the nations and even among people residing in their own nations. They forget the past and move on.

OOdweyne, This is 21sr century. Wuu dhamaaday wakhtigii dagaal la isku muquunin jiray. Calanka bullugu inta uusan Awdal iman waa in uu ku soo Horeeya Hargeisa Cadey iyo beertii xoriyada. Malaha beertii xoriyadana Mayor Solteco ayaa iibiyey oo gurya ka dhisay. Hargeisa iyo Awdal meel isku mida ayey mari doonaan. Miyaadan ogeyn in aad xagaa iyo Bariga iga xigtid. We will all negotiate and get a fair deal for Somaliland, then we will all be brothers again.

with the reported UAE organizing meetings for oligarchs in Nairobi, a low intensity war had been declared between Farmaajo and the regional opposition. Since the Mogadishu opposition is weakened, the three remaining leaders ( Muuse, DEni and Madoobe) are coordinating to fend off and survive. As we speak Deni and Muuse are coordinating their policies in Sool and Sanaag. Hawshu waa Tukaraq waan kuu daayee, adna Sanaag Bari iyo Badhan ha igu shidayn. They are headquartered in Nairobi, No Somali leader should tolerate a regional government trying to establish a foreign policy that is diametrically opposed to the national government. Wanka Madow ee Jubbada jooga haddi laga takhaluso, Deni hurdo iyo seexaad wuu joojin. If we eliminate the big fish, C/laahi Deni jumping around the little pound, the chess table could by moving to Sanaag, the east and more. If they disturb the election schedule , then two more years will be added. Who would thought a reclusive and reserved kid from Ansaalooti could be the catalyst who saved the disenfranchised nomads. Allah hau Naxariisto Mohamed Mooge. Waan soo socdaa Kow dheh:

The people of Puntland are more pro union than even those in Mogadishu. The sky is clear now. The chief campaign organizer of Shariif Ahmed in Nairobi is calling for the destruction of Somalia. Folks, be careful about the so called Sheikh and his backers. Ninkani goof yar oo Jubbada ku yaalla haddii uu reerkiisu maamuli , Soomaalidu ha dunto ayuu leeyahay. Waar dadkani waa gooni goosato shaadh kale inoo soo xidhatay. Wallee ninkii Daahireeto run buu sheegay matkuu yidhi Apophis waa gooni goosato sawaahiliga la degta.

Greece deploys missile defense contingent in Saudi Arabia
galbeedi replied to Old_Observer's topic in Politics
OO, Poor Greece can not protect no one. They are broke, and they are probably looking some cash from Fat boys of the gulf pretending to be protecting them. THree weak nations : Cyprus, Greece and Israel came together for east Mediterranean pipeline. Turkey told them that they can not drill or build a pipeline without her consent. Israel might have political muscle through America, but can not project power outside its own close borders. Everyone has F-16 and the era of tanks crossing borders are over. In fact, if the warmonger Netanyahu leaves the political scene , Turkey might bring the two sides together and lower the tension between Israel and the Palestinians. Also, there is huge debate about the viability of the American Patriot missiles. The Gulf boys had spent over $100 billion worth of weapons for the last 10 or 15 years, yet, they could not defend the $2 Trillion worth Saudi Aramco--the most important company in the whole region--- from missiles fired from Yemen or Iran. The American weapons industry is worried that $2 billion Patriot missiles could not even intercept any missiles in SAudi Arabia, so everyone is planning to to either switch or fins alternatives. Why pay billions for these expensive toys if they do not work when you need them. So, if Uncle Sam can not protect the Saudis from missiles, do you think the poor, dirty and cash strapped Greeks will fare better. Everyone is running around to stop the new big dog in the neighborhood --The Turks. In fact, the Turks are not any other country invading Libya. They have long history in Libya , ruling for 400 hundred years. The Libyans and the Ottomans fought the invading Italians army together in 1912 just before the first world war which ended the Ottoman Caliphate. Today, there are 1.5 million Libyan of Turkish origin, mainly in Misrata, Sirta and TRipoli. Republic of Turkey founder Mustafa Kemal Ataturk led the campaign against the Italians. He commanded 6,000 guerrilla fighters against 100,000 Italians. The Puthcist leader Hifter and doesn't even have Libyan man power or fighting men. Most of his army are mercenaries like Sudanese, Chadian, Maliyans and Russians paid by the fat gulf boys. You can not capture the whole country with mercenaries. The people of Libya had overthrown a better dictator than Hifter. This stupid sectarian Somalis do not understand the whole game. It is not only about LIbya, it is about reclaiming of self rule and decolonizing. the whole region The era of stealing the peoples resources through dictators is over. Libya got an elected and UN recognized government. Turkey will never allow another Sisi in Libya. Take that to the bank. We THe Sons of Ahmed Gurey, and the Great Darwish Ina Cabdille Hassan are walking side by side with these Turks. Who knows if things settle down on Somalia side, we might even deploy Somali soldiers in the future to defeat Arab despots in our region. These insignificant states like Greece, Egypt or even Israel do not match the 85 million Turks who are the second biggest army in NATO., and want to take their place as a regional power. That is why Greece is asking France to join the weak axis of Arab despots: UAE, Saudis, Egyptians, Cyprus and Hifter to stop Turkey. Yet, without the Americans involvement all these nations are toothless, and the American would probably join the Turks if ERdogan plays his cards well. Nothing is achievable in the region without the permission of the Turks. Today, Turkey GDP is 800 billion dollars. Most of her economy is based on agriculture and manufucturing. In order to surpass the Trillion dollar and join the Korean and others they must mass produce indigenous cars , weapons export and so on. It is the American leadership that had allowed the Russians to expand to the region. despite their advanced weapons, the Russian economy is equal to that of Italy. I do not like the Russians and do not trust them. Erdogan should mend fences with America and defeat the killer of the Syrian people , Asad. Saaxiib nimaan nahay cadawgeyga lama simo. Folks, for sixty years we never had real allies or friends. The soviets were our friends for short period, and we threw them out due to Arab despots buying the Somali government with cash. For the last 30 years we had no one to rely on. We were wondering between Djibouti, Addis, Nairobi and Kampala. Remember they all trained Somali soldiers that became ghosts after they returned. Some trained in Kenya were even used for sectarian reasons. Finally when we tried to rise the false Sheikhs of the gulf shows up with bag of money and a knife. Why would we trust those who are murdering their own people by millions in order to rule one more day. -
Is this best you guys can offer here in SOL? Awr-Kiraale Bayleh and OOderyne, you probably don't see how foolish you sound here in the comment section. If I were you I would take a break from here and do something valuable in your life. No one really reads your long useless drivel. Where did all this insecurity of insulting people and throwing garbage and expecting to stick came from. You keep repeating the same bull shit again again. Waarya Suldaanka maxaad odaygan matba Durbaan aad meel daran ula aadaysa.Hawshu hadday tahay in Somaliland la difaaco, anagaa si xigmad leh u dufaacayna oo wanaag iyo dhaliilba sheegayne fadlan " Take a break"

Sukdaanka, we want to see the real break down of the budget. Yet, they do not publish for the people to see and criticise. When was the last time a government budget was rejected, forced to do some changes or even debated in parliament? It was during the Rayaale administration. The Majority of students either go to the high seas for opportunity or go Mogadishu. Even the salary is much better for Mogadishu. Faysal Waraabe is correct, if you have post graduate degree, you do not go to Hargeisa where people are hired through nepotism and connection, in Mogadishu they might take the exam and get the job. in Somaliland the system is crooked.
-
Faysal Waraabe always tells the truth when he wants. In fact, he knows governing issues and rule of law than most Somaliland politicians. He hailes from Sand Dwellers who are masters of Somali language.

With Joe Biden weakened by media attacks of him " losing memory" and 80 years old socialist Bernie Sanders, things doesn't look good for the democrats. Yet, this Buttegig guy is a game changer. The Prophet (SCW) said some of the signs of the Qiyaama or last days are man marrying another man. This man is not only homosexual, but he is married to another man. Imagine the leading Christian nation, America, led by this guy. Folks, It is the end of times. This man could be the the best method to destroy religion or make it meaningless among the people. He already have the support of the globalists, Silicon valley billionaires, and leading government security officials. This guy is a real danger to American religious community. I would vote Trump any day if these are the choices. Those of us who are Muslims should bury our differences and work and vote with the conservative Christian community for the survival of family and humanity. If unchecked these so called progressives will bring the whole world down the drain. The right have a lot of bad baggages , yet real change would only come from the right. The left doesn't believe anything.

The new leader has support from CAdaado, Caabudwaaq, Dhuusamareeb and Ceel Buur. Shaakir is not a major problem, his own town is becoming the capital. Mr. Qoor Qoor need to convince the Mudug side of the problem like South Gaalkacayo, Hobyo and Xaradheere.

These are real soldiers. Gedo and the border region is crucial for both Somalia and the American base in Lamu. The Kenyan are helpless. Other than Kismaayo , they are unable to stop attacks inside Kenya from Jubba region. The Americans can not rely on Kenyan troops sitting in KIsmaayo. few weeks ago they lost both men and expensive equipment when Al-shabaab attacked. Everyone knows the real Somali soldier is fearless. I hope they paid them well. Who knows, the idea is probably to take over Bu'ale from Al-shabaab and organize a new election in the regional capital. Madoobe will be be isolated in Kismaayo.

Loading... Advertisement Opinion Tourists in Somaliland By PETER BUTTIGIEG and NATHANIEL MYERSJULY 31, 2008 Continue reading the main storyShare This Page Last week we went to Somalia as American tourists. We stayed only a night, but that was plenty of time to wander unescorted through the local market, explore town in a battered Toyota station wagon, and even head out into the desert to admire some ancient cave paintings. It might seem an odd choice of vacation spot, given that Somalia, so long synonymous with "failed state," appears to be growing ever more dangerous. The insurgency against the American-backed Ethiopian occupation persists, and just last week it was reported that a particularly radical group has launched a campaign to murder relief workers, who are there trying desperately to avert an oncoming famine. Indeed, we were able to travel safely to Somalia only because of a peculiar but important technicality: The world makes no distinction between the Republic of Somaliland, the autonomous and self-governing territory that we visited, and the rest of Somalia to its south. Since declaring independence in 1991, Somaliland has achieved a level of peace and stability beyond the wildest dreams of the quasi-government in Mogadishu. Yet remarkably, throughout the many years the international community has funded, fed and sought vainly to stabilize Somalia, it has studiously ignored the peaceful and democratic polity to Somalia's north. This is not an oversight but a conscious policy decision: No country on earth will recognize Somaliland as a peer. The African Union has occasionally "studied" the issue, but its members are loath to endorse what would amount to secession from one of their own. Continue reading the main story Advertisement Continue reading the main story The United States and many European states have said they will defer to the African Union's policy - despite their willingness last year to proactively promote the controversial independence of Kosovo. With the world averting its eyes, the remarkable achievements of Somaliland have gone unnoticed. In one of the world's most dangerous and unstable areas, it has managed to establish peace and stability, and gone on to develop a unique democratic regime that incorporates both direct elections and formal roles for traditional clan elders. It has established a legal system that carefully balances local tribal custom, Islamic jurisprudence, and Western constitutional tradition. While democracy's reputation is precarious throughout much of the Muslim world, this devout country has held elections on its own initiative and at considerable cost to its national reserves. The international community's approach to Somaliland not only ignores these accomplishments; it might actually destroy them. Without formal recognition, Somaliland cannot enter into trade agreements with other countries, and is unable to exploit the natural resources under its earth and its Red Sea port of Berbera. It struggles to attract foreign investors willing to operate in an "ungoverned" area. It can't even receive normal development aid from donor countries and agencies, because they cannot channel aid through an unrecognized government. Instead, the people of Somaliland receive only a portion of the aid designated for "Somalia." The situation has left Somaliland underdeveloped and desperately poor, with the government often unable to provide even the most basic public services. Of no less concern, the durability of its democracy has recently come into question, with scheduled presidential elections delayed until next March. (The official explanation was that the authorities in this nation of nomadic goat herders needed more time to register voters.) It's hard to know which is more improbable: that an impoverished country in a chaotic but strategically important region would develop its own fragile democracy, or that the United States would deliberately ignore its requests for assistance. In the absence of Western political and economic engagement, Somaliland is pursuing investment and support from China and Gulf countries. Such support might be enough to ensure Somaliland's survival and eventual growth, but it will crowd out America's chance to win the gratitude of a potentially valuable ally in a very troubled area. From the journalist who took us to lunch to the guide who took us to the cave paintings, the people we met in Somaliland were welcoming, hopeful and bewildered by the absence of recognition from the West. They were frustrated to still be overlooked out of respect for the sovereignty of the failed state to their south. "Every member of Parliament in Mogadishu gets a salary paid mostly by U.S. and EU funds," one Somaliland official told us. "And every one of them is a killer. If you kill enough people, you are called a warlord and you get invited to conferences. Meanwhile, I was elected by thousands of votes in a free election, but the international community does not consider us a country. They should be rewarding democracy, not killing." Peter Buttigieg is a management consultant in Chicago and a fellow at the Truman National Security Project. Nathaniel Myers is a political analyst in Ethiopia.

An APP called Shadow designed by democratic party to tabulate votes had failed during Iowa caucuses last night. Candidate Buttiggig happen to be one of the donors who paid up to $21,000 dollars for the software. It seems Mr. Buttiggig and company had stolen the Iowa caucuses last night. While every other candidate thanked their supporters and waited for the results, this guy declared victory. The main idea is to stop the antiwar candidate Bernie Sanders. The surprising thing is that many USA internet sites keep mentioning his trip to Somaliland in 2018. What is attracting these types of people to Somaliland? This guy and company might steal the American election . America might go from narcist and racist to an openly homosexual president.

Jawawri: Waa la wiiqay awooddii beesha caalamka ee Soomaaliya
galbeedi replied to Miskiin-Macruuf-Aqiyaar's topic in Politics
Dhaqaale, A parrot or even a robot will only repeat what he has been told . OOdweyne lives in the old continent. While the BRitish has mastered a lot of things including rule of law, those of us who live in the new world consider them as old, crowded in even third world in terms of technology and infrastructure. Our own six lane local streets are even bigger than their highways. The same thing goes to Italy, France and Greece. My family visited these countries last summer and were shocked how dirty and crowded were these countries. Only a dinosaur like OOdweyne would try to copy the European model of the last century. Nations are finding their own models to develop and accelerate growth. Rwanda which came out of horrible civil just over 20 years is one of the leading countries in Africa both in growth and efficiency. THe Malay came out of civil war in 1965, and in 1980 a development oriented and charismatic leader Mahathir Mohamed took over. Within 20 years, Malaysia became a developed economy. Ther Chinese model had lifted hundreds of millions of people from poverty in less than 30 years. They also created 400 million middle class people who have the purchasing power of any middle class in the world. Chinese tourists are sought around the world from Turkey to Canada. No other system could have managed 1.2 billion people. There is no economy in Somaliland to grow . There is zero infrastructure , electric grid or community colleges to train people for the current technologies or any mechanism to exploit the natural resources. Furthermore, most of the leaders are illiterate who are using the old model of the seventies. They do not have an economic council to innovate and introduce new ways of growing the economy and create jobs. THe whole economy is based on import of goods, especially food and resale. They do not measure productivity or even unemployment. Hundreds of millions of dollars a year are lost to drugs like Khat and no one is debating the effects on economy and social effects on families. You have over a thousand former ministers sitting in Hargeisa hotels waiting to get a gig from the ruling block. Just imagine, it has been 30 years and the budget is around 250 million . It could be even less than that if they stop inflating the exchange rate. Yet, this fool and others keep cheering because thank GOD there is no bombs flying in Hargeisa. OOdweyne's has high hopes on the failure of Somalia. What is he going to do if God willing things get better in Somalia. A sensible and intelligent leadership will examine themselves and ask, what have we achieved after thirty years in terms of economy, development and technological advance?.Did we lift people out of poverty? Did we provide basic things like water ot food for the people?. For 30 years, they never built one single major hospital in any major town. That tells you something. -
US Ambassador’s reaction to the election in Dhusamareb

OO, America can not stop everyone especially Turkey. Egypt is weak to stop Turkey in Libya. As soon as LIbya is straightened , Sisi should be very afraid.Isayas is weak to serve the UAE in any capacity. In my opinion , the coming war could be between Abiy's Ethiopia and the Tigray enclave. Before any elections take place in Ethiopia Abiy will attack Tigray, postpone the election and regroup. At the moment the Oromo opposition is getting bigger. OLF, Jawar, Bakale Garba, Daud Insa and others had joined in one single federalist party called Oromo Federalist Congress. Abiy Ahmed has no base to win at the moment, and if things doesn't change soon war is the only option. Even Assayas want to crush the TPLF because, sooner or later they will overthrow him. -

It is sad Puntland , the most successful regional government of Somalia, had tied its faith and destiny to that of Ahmed Madoobe who usurped power. What they are going to do if Madoobe is quarantined to Kismaayo and the rest of the region taken over by Somali military?. -

Do you guys know how this outfit called Ehlu Sunna come to existence? there are no non state actor Somalis who could organize from thin air and confront Al-shabaab single handedly. Ehlu Sunna was an Ethiopian dog in central Somalia , and all you need is Ethiopia to call off their dog . Just like Madoobe is sponsored by Kenya so does the Sufi. Wadaad qori la ordaya oo kitaabka ku soo dhuumanaya hore ayaanu u aragnay mana ogolaanaynu 2020 ka. Mr. Qoor Qoor needs to approach the 80 years old Xaaf and give him a nice hand shake. C/laahi Deni is broke and could not finance Xaaf anymore. Furthermore, Gaalkacayo city itself needs help from the federal government. A month or so ago the chief intelligence officer of Mudug was killed by Al-shabaab just like the traffic chief of the city. Gaalkacayo security officers need financial help. Besides, with all the dysfunction of Galmudug community and weaknesses of N&N , we all hope peace and rule of law to prevail in central Somalia. This region has a direct effect on the security of Mogadishu. -

It is a good move to clarify things quickly. In fact, the so called Ehlu Sunna block in Gsalmudug parliament had joined and voted. The Sufi is isolated in his house in Dhuusamareeb. We should put him in house arrest and quarantine him in his house or else. Since the outlaw Sufi indirectly mentioned his contacts with the international community, Yamamoto has to distance himself and clear the air. In our side, we even reject the idea of these so called ambassadors meeting Madoobe, the Sufi and others. This a Somali matter and should be decided by Somalis. In my early assessments I thought it could be a fragmented leadership, yet talking to those who are well informed about Galmudug, the spoilers lost their leadership and credibility long ago. The Sufi pushed for 20 members and was given, then finally changed his mind at the finish line. Xaaf had done the same thing saying he would transfer power . but changed his mind and went to hide in Baraxley, Gaalkacayo. Xaaf waxa uu rabaa in uu noqdo Gudoomiyaha Xaafada Baraxley ee Gaalkacayo ku taala. I think despite early setbacks, N&N had won in Galmudug. The second stage probably should to take over whole of Gedo and Jubbada Dhexe from Al-shabaab, then push in to Jubbada Hoose and make Ahmed Madoobe the mayor of KIsmaayo just like Xaaf. Then in the summer of 2020, implement the full takeover of Mogadishu. For me that is a recipe for re-election. -
Imagine a governor insulting people and their faith in public. Even here in the west where the freedom of speech is paramount , leaders respect the things people value. I hope those in power in Hargeisa, who close hotels after 11pm and oppress people in the name of religion , will dismiss this outlaw.
