Just like Greet Wilder of the Nederlands, who employed fear and hatred for immigrants and Muslims, Ms Le Pen got only a fifth of the electorate. That means 79% of the French have voted against her party and ideology. While 21% qualified her for the second Round , she will not be able to overcome the 50% threshold needed to win. The parties on the left and the right center Republicans, who are pro-trade and Pro EU, could easily sideline her. The independent candidate Emmanuel Macron is ahead of her for more than 30 points. In the French election of 2002, her father Jean M. Le Pen got 17% of the vote and qualified for the second round. In the second round, the Gaulist Candidate Jacques Chirac destroyed him by winning 82% of the vote. Expect her to repeat that same result. In Iraq, the Kurdistan regional government has it's own army and territory to defend from ISIS and the other groups including the Shia dominated Iraqi army. Having won the right to have their own army and boarders their next move is to declare independence. In Syria , you have Kurd's, supported by the Americans, the Free Syrian army,, a coalition of other Islamist rebels and the Assad government. Each one of them has it's own soldiers, and The quagmire is getting worse by the day. Four years have passed since the London conference of 2013, and the nothing has changed. The British envoy traveled to Jubba land and other regions to convince them their plans of creating regional armies. They will be sitting at the table in the London conference and they will be getting their money directly to build their own armies. Nothing is changing in Somalia. They always find new ways to drail the hopes of the people. Over the past two years, external players including the European Union, the US, Ethiopia and Turkey have separately trained thousands of Somali forces. Some in Somalia say it is a muddled effort, one which, like other aspects of the international engagement here, is based on sometimes competing interests and agendas. Add all that the new actors like U.A.E who built their own barracks to train an army of their own. Usually they do not move unless ordered by the Emirates .The Americans have a well trained Somali special forces that is based inside the airport. The "Gaashaan" contingent is paid and controlled by the Americans. Then you have 22,000 Ugandan army that resides mostly in Mogadishu. One wonders why a twenty thousand army could not even advance 30 miles outside Mogadishu and engage these hapless Al-shabaab who are traveling with small trucks. The truth is the people of Mogadishu are occupied by African mercenaries who are not willing to defeat a small rag tag army of poor terrorists. After seeing what is happening and what Farmaajo has campaigned, A Somali insider told me that , " he is either imlementing the old plan that was decided before him ,or he is willing to go along for now until he figures out a solution( Waxa uu is leeyahay Lugahan Dhiiqada galay, Marba mid u Saar in ta Aad ka Diyaargaroobayso) I feel sorry for the leaders because they seem to be hostages of entrenched system run by a well organized group who want to keep this country to remain in chaos. Finally, how can you train an army that does not even have it's own barracks. It is huge task with overlapping responsibilities. Since the federal government does not even control Mogadishu let alone Cadaado, they definitely need the help of these regional governments to to built and command these forces. In other words, the regional governments are presiding and managing the army in their regions. Rather than provide good governance, accountability and providing basic services, they have been given the duties of the federal government. The national security counsel (NSC) which is the sole policy of the federal government have been joined by regional states. Here it says, "15. The National Security Council will include the FMS presidents. Similarly, the Prime Minister (PM) and FGS Ministers (Ministers for Internal Security, Foreign Affairs, Interior, Justice, Defense and Finance and the Governor of Banadir Region) If that is the case, you might not need the federal government. Why not let the federal member states build their army , police, institutions and then negotiate or choose every four years a president among them to be the president of federal member sates.. Rather than create every four years this weak government that does not even protect it self without Uganda and others, and yet , claim to be the Somali federal government , I would disband it and replace it with the Benadir regional government.. Instead of having these large members of parliament , ministers, and heads of government in one city , with overblown budget of $250 million, I would create the " Banaadir Regional government" and it's duties should be pacifying that city only. A safe and functioning Banadir regiobal government will sit in the meeting as a member state. In every federal jurisdiction in the world the central government and the regional federal states corporate for internal security and the delivering of the service, yet the Somali system is one of a kind or the most strange federal arrangement in the world. This country is not the only one in conflict supervised or aided by the international community or regional states, but in almost all cases the front line states leave quickly in short and reasonable time, or they do not intervene directly at all. If there is no credible Somali federal leader or president to represent Somalia, then change the format , but if you want the Somali state at the table , let the president or the prime minister sit in the table. I was trying to write this thread last week to warn western nations about Russian plans of instigating fear and terrorism in order to influence the French election. They already knew the Putin's plans , but I wanted to highlight some of the latest would be KGB plans. I was just few days late before the latest Champ Elysee, Paris attack that took the life of a police officer while wounding others. The latest news, confirmed by reliable news outlets , "The man believed to be responsible for Thursday’s terror attack in Paris was previously investigated for terrorism threats and jailed for shooting police officers, it has been confirmed". Not only that but, he does not seem to be a young man who was radicalized--he is 39 years old criminal-- or has an affiliation with the modern terrorist group called "ISIS Inc.", who claims everyone and any thing related to terror crimes regardless of the motivation. "Cheurfi was previously jailed for attempted murders that saw him shoot two police officers – one during a car chase in 2001 and a second days later when he shot an officer after seizing his gun in custody", Parisien reported. At a trial in 2003. The biggest common denominator in all these French attacks are they had been committed by people known to be criminals, drug dealers and youths with long history of crime and theft. Earlier this month when Trump Attacked Syrian air base for the chemical attacks, I thought that he finally saw the light and he is willing to change policy of allowing the Syrian dictator to keep killing his own people. Yet, after observing his actions, it seems he and Putin are the same page. As, the NBC commentator Lawrence O'Donnell put it at the time of the bombing, the whole thing might have been planed by Putin to take the heat off from Trump which worked perfectly well. They just used the old American book called " wag the dog". The barrel bombing of Syria by Assad and Putin had already produced the largest refugee movements since world war. There were refugees from Syria for the last five years, but when you barrel bomb Aleppo, a city of four million people, with long history of know how and culture, people will abandon their homes and find save places to survive. In return , the desperate refugees heading Europe and other places to survive , were called migrants by the Russian organized media in the west and their trolls in the social media. Suldaanka, I was not hiding from the challenge we Somaliland unionists are facing. No doubt both this pictures show a thousand words of tribal hegemony both in the north and south, but let us discuss one at the time. In Mogadishu, the Somaliland unionists are the most ignored and abused group of politicians . Of course they appoint one important minister among the 30 , and that is about it. You could not find any northern person in Villa-Somalia, the security agencies, police or in the military. Two weeks ago, the president appointed four important military, police and intelligence chiefs. The so called group of "D block and HAG", have divided among themselves. Those same groups have both the president and the prime minister, yet they added more. On the other hand they claim that the Somali government is based on 4.5. If that is the case one of the security chiefs should have gone to the Northern groups, while the other should have been from Bay region. Their excuse is Somaliland is not here. Well, both Puntland, Galmudug and Jubba have their own parliament, military and government, so the idea that Somaliland want to separate should not deny the Somaliland unionists their rightful representation in the national government. As long as these two groups dominate the national government, there will not be hope or real closer in Somalia. Deep down , I do believe that all this so called generals that are appointed are either old and obsolete or are not qualified to reform and build a credible force. The last military commander that was replaced was a former Somali special forces member (Danab), and he was from Sool, yet without even considering the job he preformed , he was just fired and replaced with a family member from the president. The Gedo guys were famous in the eighties to promote generals without merit (way iska xidhan jireen xidigaha) and the HAG group under Shariif Ahmed broke all records. Young men who finished school in late nineties would go to Sudan, get some degree and start from colonel. General Muungaab was one of them. He started from colonel without going a military collage and became a military judge in 2010. Before he left office in 2012, Sariif Ahmed promoted him a general. He was one of 20 he appointed. Not only that, the USC made generals to people who were just law level officers before 1991. How can we expect these kind of people to lead the security apparatus. Unless we the northern people step up to the plate there will never be a functioning Somali state. Most southerners elites do not even care about those unionists who are the most suffering people. We left our homes and communities for the larger goal of uniting the Somali people under the banner of brotherhood and unity, yet we have been watching for 25 years, the shenanigans of the southern elite. Having said that, what ever was left off the northern bureaucrats that left the south and established the governing system in Somaliland are no longer there. Seven years of "Habro" led by a Siilaanyo had destroyed what Cigal, Rayaale and others have built. The Somaliland elite, whether they are ministers or party operatives, had became not only the most corrupt people, but they could be bought with few shillings. Tribalism, opportunism and corruption became the norm. Add that to the so called Suldaans who surpassed the politicians both in the media , politicking and extortion. If real change does not come to Somaliland, it could become worst than the south. Having seen these Somaliland government members in action, I could no longer point the fingers to southern elites and politicians. The big deference is in Somaliland the people care about their future and their peace , despite the evil actions of the politicians. In Somaliland ,you will never see or hear a soldier robbing people or putting a road block to make money even if he were not paid. There is certain dignity that people hold up to. Finally, we will keep these groups in Somaliland and in the South to be accountable. The time will come when the Somali people will rise up and punish both the HAG and D block for their crimes of corruption and power abuse.

An Acquaintance of mine who is a small trader just came from Mogadishu this week. Some of you, Somalia online residents have traveled back home for a different reasons for the last few years, but those of us , arm chair analysts who rarely travel to Somalia are always looking to find credible information through people from different walks of life. As usual, I begun my questions about President Farmaajo and the new government. Galbeedi: what is the main different between Hassan Sheikh and the new government? Eye witness: The biggest and the most important difference is the Somali people around the country want their government to succeed this time around. Also, the big events that is taking place around the world is having huge effects the way Somalis see the nation state. Many people inside and out Mogadishu have realized that having a functioning government means survival of the Somalis in this region and around the world. G: That is really a good assessment of the people in general both at home and the diaspora, but in terms of policy and substance , what does the government should do to improve the security of situation in Mogadishu at the moment? Eye W: Well, in our conversation you keep mentioning the first one hundred days or so, my friend that so called one hundred days are a barometer for the established western countries, but the government was just approved in late March which is not even a month, so if I were you, I would wait at least foe six months and judge them after the end of two years. G: forget about the one hundred days , what is the major steps that the government should do in order to improve security?. Eye W: First of all , I am from Mogadishu, and unlike many people from the diaspora, I had the advantage of frequenting both the major hotels were politicians and the elite congregation and the average people coffee shops. I did spend $2 for coffee in major hotels and 5c in street tea market. In order to improve security both the intelligence service and the army must be reformed and reorganized. The biggest threat to security in the Capital is the Mogadishu based Somali army. As soon as the sun goes down , most of the robberies in the city is committed by them. After the inauguration of the president, they were ordered to stay in their barracks and in those days most people felt the safe. Many of them are former gangs or criminals who chew "Qat" daily or abuse other substances. If they are ordered to leave the city and deployed to outside regions they just disappear or even refuse to take the order to be deployed outside Mogadishu. G: If that is the case for the so called military that had been trained for the last four years, what is the solution? also, Do you have any idea how much is their numbers?. Eye W: I do not know for sure, but the estimates I heard is about seven to eight thousand soldiers. Since 2004, soldiers were trained by different groups and countries, many were decent men who were willing to make a career in the army, but after many months without pay they just left , sold their guns or became a part time soldier. These soldiers must be reorganized, but at the same time , you can not have people to sacrifice their lives for the country and do not pay them any salaries for months. G: How about the idea of recruiting the regional government soldiers and incorporate the as national army?. Eye W: I do not believe the tribal militias from the regions or the Mogadishu based soldiers to be very effective national army. I would prefer that the soldiers must be recruited from the regions as individual citizens who should join the army by their own voluntary Like the old times( " Ha la yidhaahdo yaa doonayo in uu ciidan qaran noqdo, islamarkaana laga soo qoro gobolada iyo degmooyinka , la isku dhex daro ka dibna la wada tababaro"). G: You have been going to Mogadishu since 2012 back and forth, what is the major difference this time ? Eye W: in 2012, a cannon was flying over my head when I try to travel from point A to B, now, you rarely see any artillery or cannons at night. The most dangerous issue in this time is targeted killings and assassinations. A businessman may lose his market share in competition, then he goes around and wants to eliminate his rivals by hiring a hit and run squad; the same thing goes to an NGO contract that went to someone else and other criminal connected killings. There are young kids who use drugs or other illegal substances, and they could be hired just for $50 dollar . Usually the criminals take them in a car and tell him to shoot that person ,then after killing the victim, jump in a parked car and disappear. The most dangerous part is someone is attaching a bomb with magnets in your car and " BUM" it goes off without anyone knowing where it came from. If the intelligence community is knowledgeable or prepared they could easily distinguish the difference between these assassinations. The murder of intellectuals, Islamic scholars and former officers are definitely committed by the Ethiopian intelligence and others. G: Since there are no military operations or no more standing army of Al-shabaab to confront in the capital, to me it seems the issues is about intelligence , information gathering and infiltration of these cells who carry this killings. So tell me about the capabilities of the intelligence service. Eye W: most of the intelligence members are former Al-shabaab members who were hired to help defeat their old friends. They do not smoke or chew "Qat" and they preform their duties well compared to the other who are corrupt and usually accused of extortion. Yet, the former Al-shabaab guys could not be fully trusted. They are either give a pass to their friends and family members or do not want to be proactive before crimes take place. G: Since 2011, over 140 members of the intelligence community were killed by Al-shabaab or others. Some were killed in a day light going to work, in front of their houses or at the vicinity of their headquarters. To me, it seems these people are not under cover agents preforming their intelligence duties in covert manner, so rather than intercept killers, they are becoming victims that need to be protected. Have you seen or heard any new ways of doing things?. Eye W: It is too early to notice any thing right now , but their are dozens of different group both foreign and domestic people rooming this city and if you try to sweep them in bulldozer , their heavy weight will crush on you, so these hazard problems need to be lifted one at the time. G: look, the new leadership took over from a government who for better or worse did something and pushed the state caravan to certain distances, so don't you agree that Farmaajo is not starting from zero? Eye W: Hassan Sheikh has implemented well the things that he felt would help him or re-election, the army he created are not reliable and he took away the rights of millions of people in Mogadishu. Can you imagine KM12 just in the outskirt of the city is controlled by Shariif Hassan, same goes with south of Jazeera beach. He sold the people of Mogadishu in order to win the election and gain votes from Puntland and South west. The land around the airport which was cleared by Mohamuud Nur Tarzan at the expense of others were given to business people by Hassan Sheikh. G: It seems our guest is throwing the former president under the bus by erasing every thing he has done.
