ElPunto, You raised a valid point in that Gaas is not as controversial as Faroole, but in my estimation that is where the divergence, which is in style, ends bearing in mind the generational difference between the two. As I said, both are qualified technocrats in merit, but Puntland needs leadership with a vision past the present at the rein, and good managers with sound techno-prowess at the ministry and agency level. For example, imagine Gaas as the minister of finance or planning. He would excel. Now, imagine Faroole as the head of the federalism and intra-state agency. He would have been brilliant. But as I said coalition building, consensus seeking, and forming multi-constituency platform similar to that of the Yusuf/Xaashi era, then Puntland needs a leader with a vision who can transcend flimsy barriers put in place by circumstance. IN that regard, a new crop of leaders are needed. Che, Why do you have a problem with history? Bad memories?

Xiin, I agree Puntland needs the likes of Dr. Eenow. He on the other hand does not need Puntland. A stark difference between him and the current crop of wannabe politicians in Somalia at large. Ponder that for a moment. Midnimo is a composite of the elite and the educated classes, but they might lack the political experience. I ask myself does its top brass possess the kill political instinct - a required ingredient? ElPunto, I do not know what Gaas's interest is, but I could tell you he is in the same class as Faroole. To their merit, both are good managers, but I do not think they posses the required leadership qualities of consensus building, coalision forming, and transcending feeble political fences in which case there is no point in striving in keeping the status quo. I hope I am proven wrong. On the history front The trouble I observe is members of this forum come across as only interested in keeping up a ficticious facade based on home-grown fallacies marinated in lax in critical analyses, and when reality is brought to the surfice, irrespective of its origin East, South or North, good or bad, it is allergies season all over again. And if you go against the popular narrative, then you are deemed the quintessential antithesis of what is already being accepted as the norm. It is a troubling trend. How someone would want to engage in meaningfull political discourse without reflecting on the past in order to make sense of current affairs, and discuss future events is beyond me. I do not know, but members here seem to be subcribing to that flawed doctrine. What do In know. may be that is how "geelu uu ugu badiyo". Then again, most are young people with good intentions. let us hope they do not die young.

The opposition is very credible, and if they present a plan of solidarity for the wider constituencies, Faroole's Achilles heel, and advance the federalist agenda, Faroole's vigour, then they will be crowned as the victors. If however they fail, then I would agree it is for Faroole's to loose.

You are welcome, I am not familiar with the other contenders, and they have not impressed me so far. Again, I am still on the fence waiting to see all the candidates.

And you will find his latest speech at Minneapolis a few days ago. Minneapolis: Casho Sharaf Lagu Soo Dhawaynayo Guddoomiyaha Urur Siyaasadeedka Midnimo ee Puntland Dr. Sadeq Enow.

Here is his profile. Illyria;942852 wrote: Midnimo Chairman, Dr. Saadiq Eenow's profile. Midnimo Chairman, Dr. Saadiq Eenow - speech at the party's launching event.

The Chairman for Midnimo.

You are weird. did not you say something about hijacking? i think you are guilty of that now, no? I am warming up to Dr. Eenow but am still sitting on the fence.

It is connecting the history of the region with the current in order to make sense of the future. Is that not easy to follow?

I wonder what would have happened to the reer Marqaan lads if I had recounted the encounters between the 20 year-old reer Ceel Afweyn who came to ceel Caynaba with his "Oomane" flock begging for water, and the 60 year-old reer Caynaba showering and cleaning the feeding troughs after his flock "ay ka wabxeen". Let us not. that might violate some forum rules.

Indeed, The father of modern Somalia - Sayid Maxamed Cabdulle Xasan, Taleex, Sool. The King - Cismaan Maxamuud, Baargaal, Bari. The Sultan - Maxamuud Cali Shire, Buraan, Sanaag. And the other Sultan - Cismaan Yusuf Cali 'Keenadiid', Hobyo, Mudug. Ever wondered what the secessionists were up to when these men were ruling over their territories and people. Hint. Saancadaale.

So I ma conversing with someone whose entire narrative rests with Goolgle searches? Darn it I should start real schooling for ilma Marqaan. I knew you were historically challenged, but now it seems intellectually too. Oodweyne;943223 wrote: ^^Go google it,..

Correction Classified, The Habros from the triangle are claiming other peoples' territories while Khatumites are saying leave our homes and stay away. keep that in mind.

Xiin, You are too generous, too polite and too patient with the secessionsts.

In all fairness I do not care who comes as long as he/she understands the game, and plays it intelligently and within the framework. Anyone worse worse than Faroole is unaccetable. At least we know what Faroole is good at and what he is not good at.

Dear lad, In the face of adversity I never succumb. I however regroup, restrategise to fight another day. As I said in the meantime keep pissing on the graves of the innocent. And as the wise man said Ama afeef hore lahow Ama adkaysin dambe yeelo.

Xiin, These guys only like to debate the young and my southern brothers who are not familiar with their ilk but when it comes to real issues they will tuck tail before you can say psssss. How can you engage someone who can not differnciate ownership from possession, and whose entire life history and reference begins and ends with the vagabond colonies. And on the same token expects your sympathy yet massacres innocent women and children. Cannot take thse people seriously. Only ilma Marqaan.

It is not fan. it is a history lesson for reer Marqaan. Wadani;943231 wrote: Nin ku faana dhul waa hore awoowayaashi laga faramaroojiyay waligay ma arag. Adeer wax isula hadh.

What was that old saying, which rather fits nicley in this context. Col dhallaan qaaday ...till then keep singing falsihoods. And not quite for it is a history only known to those it matters. You on the other hand just keep pissing on the innocent till the day comes. And when it does, I will raise the question. Oodweyne;943229 wrote: Illyria, Well, a millions years ago Dinosaurs roam the earth, including those same African savannah. In other words, what you may have said it, regardless of it's veracity, may be passing footnote of interest to anthropologies manuals, but in now and here makes no blind bit of difference. Hence, see to it to bring a relevant argument that will cut muster in this debate. After all I govern those towns not with begging others to accept my rule but as a token of my possession of them. See the difference, dear lad?

Any by the way ceelka Caynaba wagii geelayagu u soo aroori jiray, kiinu galbeedka Hudiso ayuu daaqi jiray. but then again, i would not expext you to know that. Not quite. try it again.

For a minute there, I thought I was dealing in the real law of the courts, not realising you were peddling the marfish kind of law. at ease lad.
