  1. Thanks guys, I enjoyed reading all about your first job experiences, keep them coming, and the advice that were given to me are all appreciated.

  3. My sources tells me all your sources are full of shid. ps: Shid means lights on in Somali, before someone reports me to the admin lol
  4. ^ I dunno what you on about Whats 'so' obvious? I'm lost. lol Aaliyah I will hun, I ignored him hopefully he got the point. xx
  5. ^What is happening? Why did you highlight it like that ! Don't troll in my thread!
  6. lol the amount of times I read 'my sources tell me this bla bla can't be counted, are these people for real? This is so childish.
  7. Xeefow I think they are jealous. It's obvious! That's why they are resorting to lies but there's nothing they can do to defame this honest hard working, patriotic man called Farmaajo. I know Somali people who hail from all parts of Somalia who support Farmaajo. The ones who hate him, hate him only because of his tribe, simple. That's all it is. These keyboard warlords have no life but to spread lies. Such dimwits they are, with too much time on their hands.
  8. lil update on my work journey so far alls been well, but there's something weird going on that I'd like to stay away from. So the Somali guy gave me a call and wanted to load more shifts on me. I told him that another supervisor had already called me and I was working in that part of the store. He seemed disappointed, and asked me who? When I told him the name of the guy who called me, he said 'when did he call you, how did he get your number''? I said '' isn't my number on the system''? He went on to say, 'try not to work with that guy much if he calls you call me and I will put you on my shift, I don't want him being too close to you sis, you don't need that''. I was soo confused by that. For a second there I thought I was talking to my older brotha, I just said to him, oh ok. Anyways when I worked that day, that same guy the Somali guy warned me about, asked me 'how old I am'? 'Where I study'? and then he said to me 'If I could I would marry you'. He managed to say all that to me, while he was showing me something on till. I just ignored him and continued with my work. The Somali guy was right, I definitely do not need this, thus I'm making sure I no longer work on that guys shift InshaAllah. The Somali guy caught me wearing 'Pink socks' with my sneakers he's informed me it's not allowed and I can wear white only. At the end of my shift, he bought me a whole set of white socks. I didn't want to accept this free gift so I gave him the change but he refused to take it from me. Today I bought him 1 litre fruit flavored water and placed it in his locker. lol now I don't feel awkward about the socks anymore we are even.
  9. I just do my job, I don't care about what religious affiliation my colleagues have/don't. I don't really trust some of them that much cause they are quite fake. They're not as honest and open as we are, they're all just playing a game, I find.
  10. One of my aunts could never have kids. Shes the most loveliest woman alive she's so good with kids. Alhamdulilah she has us and always called us her children. Allah has blessed her with a wonderful husband who stood by her through out the years and grew old with her even though they never had kids he never left her. MashaAllah that's true love, and I bet many people with kids don't even have that kind of relationship with their spouses. It's mercy from Allah that when he takes something from someone he replaces with it with something far better (if you remain patient). And we have some who don't want kids when Allah blessed them with it, it's a crazy world.
  11. OdeySomali Thank you so much for all that advice that's exactly what I needed help with. I am going to do my best to implement it. I think it'll come in handy, for sure. and if I need any more advice I know who to ask. My manager is impressed with me so far (he told me), and every supervisor wants me to work with them.! I feel like I'm already settled and know the ins n outs of what I have to do. I'm the only person so far who doesn't kiss up to the manager, actually it's the manager who comes to me and asks me how I am. It's because I don't kiss up to him. If I see him coming towards me, I just do my work and pretend he isn't there. Some of my colleagues can definitely learn a thing or two about that.
  12. Wadani, thanks. Malika, I know parents like the ones you mentioned exist too, but they are quite rare. That's why I said even in the cases where the parents don't mind, it's the extended family stirring up trouble.

Apophis, he was actually picked from the crowd because of his odd behavior loool....and imposed all that harassment on himself. He was also drunk, that's nothing to be proud of. He needs to get his act together.
  14. Loooool @ Free Mandela ...Omg that was just bonkers!
  15. With his nervous behavior I'm quite surprised they didn't check if he was carrying anything inside his body.
  16. What a dramatic man. If he would have calmed down, and just answered the questions calmly he wouldn't have have to go through all that trouble. It's all his fault, and he should be ashamed that he drinks alcohol.
  17. Nah I'm not from there, but I'm certain the clothes are all the same everywhere. I started first working at the golf section, was tired of the rich middle aged men making me climb the stairs always making me get them things that are located at the top of the shelves. Dat one noo dat one nooo...oh shush up make up ur mind already! I requested I don't work there again and my lovely manager has now shifted me to other departments of our store. So now I am working at the baby section, but that isn't no breeze itself, I'm dealing with women who can't make up their minds, and kids who wander off to no where to be found. But I like the babies lol, the toddlers are a different story. Mamiieee I need to peee"! lol right after they slip on into the new clothes...haha! I'm like go right ahead, (be right back). However when the men come with their kids, it's a different story. They know what they want, take it, and leave. They don't make a mess like the women and make the kids dress in the middle of the store, when we have dressing rooms available. Righttttt...put that on...right here. I dunno what's that all about. Odd. I might just go to the Football section.
  18. First Job in my life! I am officially making my own money baby! I go to school and I study all at the same time. Woooot. For some reason though my parents don't like me to work! They just keep insisting I don't work no upfront 'no' just hints here n there, lil dis encouragements. They always give me money when I need it and even when I don't. I have lots of siblings who are older then me who always buy me stuff. I think they're all way too overprotective of me and need to encourage me more to be more responsible and not turn me into a spoiled brat. My work is really killing me softly, my feet hurt so much when I come home. It's nothing I had imagined, all I do is run around all day. Sometimes when the customers send me to get them stuff, I just run to the crew room to drink lol. I swear I bumped into the manager there while I was taking sips of my bottle. He was like ' u alright'? I'm like...drink drink drink...avoid eye contact. Shocker! Wasn't told off or anything, but awkward I'm telling you lol. Some customers can be a right pain in the neck too, oh dear, I just want to go home at times and disappear but I don't want to give up so soon. If you all want to know where I work, *drum rolls* It's.........Starts with a....S....let me say it in the Somali way 'Isportis directis' lol...Sports Direct! My super visor to my surprise is a Somali boy who only seems to have one thing on his mind when he sees me 'do you need more hours sis' he keeps loading me with extra shifts. *Sigh*. What was your first job like, and is there any piece of advice you can give me.

UZTAAD;871744 wrote: so you look like Arab which Arabs you like like Yemenis, Sudanese , Iraqi or Egyptian. you seem to be over emphasizing that you look more Arab than Somali , I think Somalis are more beautiful than of most of the Arabs therefore you do not need to look like an Arab. any way thanks for the help you extended the elder man it is human nature to help each other I think your question is inappropriate. So I won't even answer it. What I look like isn't suppose to be what you should have carried from my story. I hope you learn the meaning of the word overemphasizing cause you obviously are using it out of context. Tnx Wadani for clearing that up.
