But just like SSC who did that with Puntland in 1998, once Gedo's destiny was sealed, South West State played the Somaliland-SSC card and decided to pay Gedo politicians like Maxamuud Sayid Aadan (the guy saying he is the VP of the South West State) and try to lay claim to the land as being part of South West Federal State instead of Jubaland. to me Gedo is the new SSC where outsiders will exploit the greed of few lone politicians who don't have weight in the clan. I don't see this stopping anytime soon. I think you will always have Gedo politicians saying they are part of South West State while the real Gedo will always be part of Jubaland. I know South West claims Jubaland itself, but that is just not going to work. It is Gedo that will eventually be exploited to max by politicians in Baidoa.
