  1. Mojam, in my unbiased opinion John Barnes was and still is the most gifted player that ever wore the England jersey and who can forget "THAT" goal he scored against Brazil at Maracana where he dribbled past almost the entire Brazilian team and had that goal been scored by a white player I am sure the English media would have called it the greatest goal ever scored just like the way they call Banks' save against Pele the greatest save ever made by a goalkeeper. Northerner, i am glad i made you laugh Sxb because at the moment me and you we can do with a bit of laughter as our respective teams failed to do so but at least you won last night at the Valley. Peace, Love & Unity.

  3. Viking, first sorry about your old team AC Milan, i don't know wether they are trying to emulate my old team Arsenal or not i am not sure but Vecchia Signora is as good as champions because in Serie A 8 points is the acquivelent of 15 points of Prem League. Sxb,Zamorano aka Bam Bam used to wear number 9 for Inter until a certain goofy super star showed up and demanded the number 9 jersey just because NIKE paid him a whole lot of cash to indorse their product wearing Inter Milan jersey with number 9 complete with his name on the back and since Inter were sponsored by none other than Nike they had no choice but to ask Zamorano to give up the number! Prima donna stuff you would say, right? but guess what dear friend, the goofy star was at it again when he came to Real Madrid and poor Morientes were shipped to Monte Carlo and Ronni didn't even wait for Morientes to clear his locker before he was seen asking for, yep you guessed it, the number 9 just because it was supposed to bring good luck to him which makes you wonder, where on earth was the lady luck at when he was breaking his cruciate knee ligament at that fateful night in Stadio Olimpico in Rome playing Italian Cup against Lazio as he was wearing #9? Superstitious or Prima Donna? you decide my friend but to me he is not a man but a coward as he ran away from thousands of fans who idolized him back in Milan and came to an abusive fans who call him "Fat Boy" every time he misses a goal that is why i rate Ronaldinho higher than Ronaldo because he wasn't bothered about the daunting task that was waiting for him in Camp Nou when he was signing for Barca because he knew Barcelona were mediocre team and yet he signed for them and as they say the rest is history... Ronaldinho had faith in his own ability and he knew he could make a difference and he did it.. by the way did you watch Barca vs Seville on Sat night? did you that bicycle kick just before the end of the first half....Oooohh that had me jumping all over the couch.. I Love To Watch That Goofy Genuis. Tonight we will beat Man Utd...Northerner just watch and learn from the masters sxb and tell Ngonge to stop putting down Arsenal. Peace, Love & Unity.

I ethereally enjoyed reading you comments until I reached the above which was very disappointing to say the least because there are no "Europeans" here, only your fellow Somali brothers & sisters and I am not even in Europe but in Africa, however apart from that minor hiccup you made a good point even though I tent to disagree your comparison between Football & Basketball because like you said in NBA non-whites are the majority and in every team in almost every major sport in US except NHL non-whites are the majority and if I am not mistaken also the Superstars. for example which Philly fan regardless of which sport he follows can dare boo at McNabb or T.O or even A.I even if he is the racist of all racists or is there any L.A resident who can hurl a monkey chant at Kobe? so you must remember my brother that non-whites in soccer are the minority and most of them earn less money than the white players (especially if the white player has an EU passport) even when the black player is far more talented than the European because many Africans are exploited because they are desperate to earn a decent living through sports and they have no choice but to accept peanuts as a salary while their less talented teammates earn silly money simply because it is tough out here (Africa) and most players happen to be the sole bread winner for their extended family so you can't blame the poor African kid when he jumps on the first opportunity he gets to play in Europe mind you not all make the grade. few months back I read this horrible story about a bunch of African kids who were sneaked into Europe by greedy and mostly opportunistic agents who promise them tons of cash and good life only to abandon them at the train stations, airports and some even at the Hotel Lobby because the team he was counting on got another player from Africa on the cheap in other words another crook agent beat it to him. my brother it is tough to be an African rather than an American and in Football (soccer) the highest paid player who happens to be a dude called David Beckham and yet he earns nothing compared to what the NBA,NFL and MLB players earn and wouldn't you know he can't even dribble and I swear if he was Somali (the lowest ranked African team in monthly FIFA world rankings) he would have been one of those players that we ask to officiate one of those games that we play in the small open spaces that are common in our neighbourhoods simply because he isn't good enough and I am sure if he was from where I come from by the way it is Kismayo (the Brazilian of Somalia) he would have been one of my adoring fans, you know those guys who approach you just because you flicked the ball over unsuspecting and hapless defender or you put the ball through his skinny legs and act like they have known you for all their lives and call out on your name every time they see you.... (Sorry, i got carried away, that brought back a lot of memory like back in the day when i was at the sandy and beautiful beaches of my beloved city Kismayo. PS. Thanks for your valuable time Sxb, i appreciate your input...take care. Peace, Love & Unity.
  5. AJ if "Research" is all you are after then you should pay me a visit in the jungle where i have been residing for the past 8 years because i don't find living in a big city amusing anymore but i must warn you though...i am a pathalogical liar as i am a savage creature by nature especially when i am on rampage and i am known to cause damage to those who don't pay homage to my non-existant somalisophy because usually those who question my integrity (if i ever had one) always seem to lack knowledge..... AJ, i didn't know that you were a Private Eye, i just hope that you are not taking this whole Carl Weathers thing too seriously now, are you? because remember what happened to him in Predator...Oooouch. 7. I know Maradona was a good player before he came to Europe and yep i know that he won La Liga and Copa Del Rey with Barca but they didn't adore him as much as they adore Ronaldinho today because Diego was always in the news for the wrong reasons and i think that is why the fans didn't even bother to mention his name when one newspaper asked them to choose their all time Barca greats but i said he became a household name only after he came to Italy and i am sure his game improved a whole lot as well because we know that the best leagues in the world are european leagues. ARSENAL: The Only Team In The Premier League That Can Score A Goal In Just 12 Seconds. that is my team Sxb..and yeah i know we are having a nightmare sort of season but still our season is whole lot better than Liverpool's, wouldn't you agree Sxb? on Tuesday Insha Allah, we will avenge our painful defeat to the most boring team in entire Premier league   in our beloved Highbury, so make sure you tune in to watch that game other wise you will miss another Henry Vintage Goaaaaaaaaaaaaaaal. . have a nice weekend Sxb...Good Night. 8. London - Arsenal's French international superstar Thierry Henry on Thursday launched a campaign against racism entitled "Stand up, Speak up," which aims to make supporters aware of the need to stamp out the problem in football. Henry had been the subject of racist abuse from Spain's national coach, Luis Aragones, made to one of his players and Henry's Arsenal team-mate Jose Antonio Reyes. Henry said: "After the recent problems, especially the one with Aragones and the monkeys chants heard during Spain versus England (November 17), I wanted to react. "Lots of players, like Ronaldinho, have been shocked by those stories. Something needed to be done. It won't perhaps change anything, but doing nothing won't change anything either. Things can change. "When someone told me (about Aragones' comments), I thought it was a joke but then I heard it on the TV. I reckon he should have been punished more severely by the authorities. "There is a proverb I like: I forgive but I never forget." Several initiatives surround this campaign. Two and a half million black and white bracelets are being sold around Europe from February 6, priced two Euros with proceeds going to charity, to raise awareness of the need to stop racism. Also the national teams of Holland, Portugal, and Russia will play their next friendly matches in special black and white shirts. There will also be a lot of publicity in each of the countries, featuring Henry and Barcelona's Brazilian star Ronaldinho. Certain countries have representatives on the initiative: Claude Makelele and Philippe Mexes for France, Rio Ferdinand and Ruud van Nistelrooy for England, Adriano and Fabio Cannavaro for Italy, Roberto Carlos and Carles Puyol for Spain, and Otto Addo and Christoph Metzelder for Germany. Meanwhile Fifa president Sepp Blatter said on January 3 he intended to nominate Henry as an ambassador against racism. Henry said in Friday's France Football magazine: "If it's really his intention, it's something I would be very proud of and a role I would accept with pleasure." Peace, Love & Unity.
  9. Johannesburg - German toyboy Makoko the Gorilla appealed on Thursday to Johannesburgers to dig deep into their pockets to assist him with paying lobola for Max the Gorilla's widow, Lisa. Makoko, 19, moved from Munster Zoo in Germany last November to be with the 33-year-old Lisa, who has been single since the death of the crime busting Max last May. Speaking on behalf of Makoko at a media briefing at the Johannesburg Zoo, curator Phillip Cronje said people could make a R5 contribution by SMSing the word "Gorilla" to 36365. Makoko would pay lobola for Lisa on Valentine's Day. . Several reporters who made donations received a reply from Makoko that read: "Thank you for your support. I'm madly in love with Lisa and need to raise lobola before Valentine's Day." Makoko, who has yet to be introduced to Lisa, then made an appeal for a further donation. Cronje said the money would be used to improve the new couple's enclosure, and possibly buy a plasma screen and camera so that the gorillas could be viewed inside their rooms in bad weather. The zoo had budgeted to upgrade the facility but the donations would ease the burden, he said. Asked what would happen if Lisa rejected her suitor, Cronje, apparently a seasoned match-maker said: "That is not going to happen." "In all the animal introductions that we have done here, we have never had a failure." He said the two would be introduced to each other over several weeks, with the first meeting planned for next week. Given her age, it was unlikely that Lisa would be able to fall pregnant, so the zoo would begin a search for other younger females to partner Makoko. "They will be lovely companions but Makoko is very young. We will look for other younger females and Lisa will play the matriarch," said Cronje. Makoko would be introduced to the public at the weekend. Lobola: means Dowry in Zulu language. PS. if you are interested to come to their engagement party then please do so but remember don't show up empty handed or else your sorry behind will be sent back with a note reading "I am Greedy". Peace, Love & Unity.
  10. Jersey number 10. This number used to be the most feared, respected and above all cherished of all numbers because it is the number worn by the greatest players of the greatest game, ladies and gentlemen it is the number of Pele and Maradona, the greatest football players in history. Have you noticed how there are only a handful of genuine number 10's in world football today? The likes of Zidane, Ronaldinho, Requilme, Rui Costa, Totti, (to me Del Piero is not a play maker but a striker) Carlos Teves, Di Alessandro, Ballack and few more, all the rest who wear the number are barely an average players let alone magicians. i believe there is no league in the world that abuses the holy number more than English Premier League, for example, look at Blackburn Rovers, who is their number 10? Paul Dikov, for God's Sake or Westbromwich Albion, a guy named Andy Johnson or look at Charlton Athletic's number 10? A black dude that I don't even know his name(he scored a hattrick against Liverpool last season at the valley..Sorry Northerner) then there is Nistelrooy for United, they should have given it to young Ronaldo instead, and then there is Craig Bellamy for Newscastle. I wonder what would players like Zico, Platini, Gullit say when they see Dickov (who is wrestles defenders to the ground) is indeed wearing jersey number 10? Rest in Peace Jersey Number 10. The Pele's Number. Peace, Love & Unity.

  12. Originally posted by NGONGE: Diego was a great player way before he won the world cup, saaxib. That, was only the icing on the cake. Diego hit the jackpot only when he arrived in the land of Pasta and beautiful women in other words NAPOLI. as far as Barca fans are concerned El pibe de oro' was a failure and apparently his love for the Barcelona city night life was the final nail on his coffin but in truth Diego put the club president's patience to an ultimate test and the president finally cracked out of embarrassment more than anything else when Diego started a brawl in King's Cup final match against Athletico Bilbao in front of the King himself and his family because few months earlier Diego broke his ankle after a Bilbao defender tackled him from behind and the ref just waved play on to Diego's disgust and wouldn't you know the same player tried his luck on the same ankle that he broke few months earlier and that was all Diego needed to start more than 30 people brawl right in front of the King of Spain so NGONGE most Barca fans don't even know that Maradona ever played for their team, I guess that is why there is no single Maradona memorabilia to be found in Barcelona Football Club shop at Camp Nou. my point is Diego became a house hold name when he came to Italy and won Napoli their first ever championship have you ever heard about the world famous banner that the Napoli fans put on the city cemetary? "They Don't Know What They Are Missing" that is what it read.. funny yeah..LooooooooL. NGONGE, Which team do you support anyway and please don't even think about saying Chelsea because that is all you hear these days especially among the Somalis and don't be ashamed to say Liverpool because they "USED" to be the kings of England back in the day when my Mom and Dad were courting and the fans are still basking on their former glory like my man Northerner here. (i bet Northerner thinks we are still in the 80's ) Peace, Love & Unity.
  13. Kuwait City - A Kuwaiti father killed his 13-year-old daughter by slitting her throat in front of her siblings because he thought she was not a virgin, only days after he performed the annual Muslim hajj pilgrimage, newspapers reported on Wednesday. The 38-year-old father, identified only as Adnan, blindfolded and handcuffed his daughter, Asmaa, before murdering her late on Tuesday as she pleaded for him to spare her life, Al-Rai Al-Aam said. After cutting her throat a first time, the man, a civil servant employed with the Islamic affairs ministry, swapped the knife for one with a sharper blade while his daughter bled and screamed in pain as her two brothers and a sister watched, the daily added. It said forensic examinations proved the girl was still a virgin. The man was separated from his wife, it said, adding that he had told police he was imprisoned in neighbouring Saudi Arabia for 18 months for his extremist activities before he returned to Kuwait a year ago. ===>What is happening to our Muslim families these days? Where has our morals gone to and why did we choose to abandon our beautiful faith of Islam? a Muslim man is asking his daughter if she ever committed adultery at the tender age of 13? Subhanah-Allah.... May Allah restore our dignity and self pride and above all may he guide us all through the righteous path for we lost our sense of direction. Aamiin. Peace, Loce & Unity.

    NFL

I have never ever watched NFL but I will make an exception on this weekend Insha Allah and tune to ESPN and see what is so special about NFL that made Janet Jackson reveal her new invention ( I am referring to the ring, dirty minds) but it will be very very very late here at 56 Hope Road-Mayfair so there is every chance that I might dose off in the middle of the brawl (that is how I see it to be honest, because grown up men pushing and shoving each other and getting paid millions of dollars for that?" Daaaaaaaaaaaarn. is it true that Micheal Vick signed a $300, 000, 000.00 contract with Falcons for 10 years? if so then I think i should come to U.S with the intention to kidnap him because he can do with some help but what the heck is he going to do with all that money? Allah Hooyooy and my garndma wants me to believe that 'Life is Fair'   . Peace, Love & Unity.

  18. ORGILAQE, I think you've been swallowing a whole lot Orgiyaal Sxb especially now that it's Arafa where you know there are a whole lot of Orgi sacrifices in just about every Somali & Muslim house in your neighbourhood Kuunyo-Barroow . Good to see you again Sxb and Happy Eid. Here is a Joke that I want to add in your collection and hopefully it makes you laugh. A professional juggler was driving to his next performance in the afternoon, he was ordered by a traffic cop to pull over "What are these knives doing in your car?" asks the officer. "They are part of my act, I am a juggler." "Oh yeah, go ahead and prove it then." Insists the cop. The juggler gets out of the car and starts tossing his knives. A motorist sees this, stops alongside and says, "is this the test they are making you do these days? Boy, am I glad I completely stopped drinking" . Peace, Love & Unity.
  19. Few days passed without the two of them seeing each other and Faarax became agitated and uneasy, as he didn't know what to do and how to go about his search of his beloved Xaliimo then he decided to go to her school and wait outside and see what's been keeping her from him as you know the poor guy doesn't have her phone number and he can’t go to her house as he doesn't want to put her in an awkward situation with her parents. He asked his friend A/Wahid to accompany him to her school as he didn't want to look suspicious to the schoolteachers and the principal alike as you may know these days it will raise few eye-borrows to see a guy standing outside of a school that he has no business with and he was hoping that his friend AbdiWahid will provide a support incase if things got out of control and the teachers demanded for him to leave. Minutes passed slowly and the moment of truth ever seemed hesitant to arrive yet Faarax & A.Wahid just sat there patiently and fortunately for them no teacher bothered with them and finally their long and slow day was drawing to a close as they were only few minutes away from the bell ringing and Xaliimo coming out and A.Wahid could clearly see that his friend Faarax was getting nervous by the minute and he tried his best to keep his friend's spirits up after all that is why he is Faarax's best friend, the one and only guy he could trust with his own dear life. Xaliimo saw him and she started walking towards him half smiling at him nervously because not only did this visit was unannounced but she didn't know exactly why Faarax decided to come to her school but deep down inside she knew Faarax was only here to see her and she knew her plans were fully working because her girl pal Farxiyo plotted this for Faarax and they agreed to play mind games with the poor lad just to see how serious is he about her and before she saw him Farxiyo said to her something like "I told you it would work, didn't I?" "Salam Alaikom, Xaliimo" said Faarax. "W.Salam Faarax" replied Xaliimo. "What a surprise to see you, what are you doing here?" continued Xaliimo. "I came to see you" said Faarax. "Yeah right Faarax" said Xaliimo biting her lower lip. "you just disappeared and for once I thought that you fell over the edge of the earth and you know I couldn't come to your house out of respect for you as I don't want to put you in a tight situation with your Mom & Pops and I don't have your phone number so you didn't give the brother other choice but to come and see you at school" explained Faarax. "why is it so important for you to see me? what's wrong? nothing serious happened I hope" says Xaliimo playing her Suuro cards to perfection now. "yeah everything is wrong and that is why I am here to see you because I couldn't stop thinking about you and it's eating me alive to a point where I just had to come and see you no matter what the cost?" says Faarax. "and you think it is just that easy? You think I will just say yes and Ok me and you are an item? Faarax look, I like you as a person as you seem a decent guy but I can't get into a relationship with you and say Ok that night at your cousin’s party was all we needed to get to know each other, however I enjoyed your company and I had a great time that night but still I am scared to start a relationship with you and I am scared that you might hurt me as I heard so much negative stories about you and your friends" says Xaliimo. "Xaliimo, I respect that but you can't judge a book by its cover as you don't know what kind of a man I am and about what you heard, well what can I say? There will always be those who spread sick lies about people just because they don't want that particular couple to remain together and with all due respect our Somali girls are masters when it comes to spreading lies as I have seen it and experienced it more than I can remember and I know there will be every chance that you will hear a whole lot more lies about me if we ever start a relationship but I can guarantee you and I promise you this I will never ever hurt you and I will never ever dishonour you as I am not that evil, yes I am not the best as i have been through a lot and living on my own in a big city for more than half of my life without any family members to share my joy and pain with and living without someone to giude me through and teach me what is right and wrong didn't help but with you I can only get better and in time I will be the exact man that you want me to be just show me and teach me how I should treat you and I will and please don't ever give up on me". "I don't know Faarax" replies Xaliimo. "Look just give me a chance and see if I am that guy that you always saved yourself for and always knew that someday he will appear from nowhere and show you a whole new world that you never thought existed and treat you like the real Queen that you really are and trust me I am not all talk, I can walk the walk as well but only if you would give me a chance to prove that I am worthy enough to be the man that you think of every night when you go to your bed and the man that you are so proud of and most of all the man that you tell your girlfriends about and believe me you are going to have the ride of your life" pleads Faarax. To Be Continued...(but i am not sure when though) PS. Sister Thalamus thanks for your warm words and valuable time please make Du'a for me because i need it now more than ever. Peace, Love & Unity.

I am not a member of any African Student Association as I am still in the mother continent but me and my friends played our role admirably concerning the Somalia Tsunami Relief Fund where I am more than happy to admit that for the first time in a long long time I was proud to be a Somali again and I was delighted with the way for the first time I saw Somali people coming together to discuss how we should help our people out and every Somali businessman and woman I know in this country that I live in dug deep in their cheques, purses and pockets.
