It is really sad that a mere visit by the president for a town just two hours drive from Hargeisa would involve that large entourage. When the Somaliland budget is $168 million it is unnecessary to spent that much resources spend on the visit by the dear leader . Waa cudur Soomalidu meel ay joogtaba laga kari laayahay. A big fish acting big in a small pond. Midakale degdegan loo socdo maxaa looga jeedaa ?

The likes of Dhurwaa is kinda jealous - he would have been more than eager to kiss Abiy Axmed's cagtiisa hoose if Axmed allowed to meet this wretched, failed miserable secessionist and his ilk.

Holac, imagine a nation with no president or prime minister but with a several executive Committee members with equal powers and a rotating chairmanship governing the country. A Parliament directly elected by the people and whose members can be sacked by the electorate overseeing the decisions of the executive Committee!! 18 Federal States with their own directly elected governments and with no presidents running everything from taxation to health care, education, justice, and social security spending. Justice system where the courts select the jury from the local communities. I don't know why the Somali people are so incapable of at least learning from others who are better than us at doing great things. The Chinese learn from the West and they are not ashamed of it. Are we better than the Chinese?

Tallaabo, I couldn't agree with you more. We need to eliminate the infatuation with being President. Many of our problems originated from clannish ego and who rules whom. Having said that, before we accept such model, generations of Somalis must be given high level education. We have a high percentage of cawaans leading the Somalis.

Galbeedi, Speaking about sharing the pie, how does your average Farax or Xalimo benefit from that? I never understood why Somalis argue if their minister is not in the government or not. As far as I know there is one MJ minister in the federal government, I don't see how his presence there is helping MJs or Puntland? Same goes for everyone. The ministers might get fat but not your average guy. We are focusing on the wrong thing. We need an actual government that can be hold accountable. How does Awdal benefit from a vice-president position in Hargeisa? Or even where Dahir Riyaale was there? Even among Habro, did your average HJ benefited Siiraanyo's reign. Those around him did but certainly not your average person in Burco. Of course, government should reflect people that govern but we must not kid ourselves so as to think any minister from any given tribe truly represents the interests of his tribe. We need to be forward thinking and come up with different system.
