OOdweyne , forget about IC, Kenyans and whatnot , think for moment about the PEOPLE who want this. What would Hassan do to them?

 

Fight them just like his USC did before ? Use AMISOM to disarm them? And is that even practical? Or help instigate a civil war in the region by siding (like you are suggesting) one interest group against the other? I mean, think locally for a sec if you could help it to see the real math on the ground.

 

And what is the interest of the IC to support a leader whose only exit of this political quagmire is a civil war between brotherly clans in Jubba region on the expense of peace and stability? That proposition only empowers alshabaab and it is very losing strategy indeed.

 

EDIT: Zack, Oodweyne would do anything to (1) prolong the unrest in the south, and (2) exaggerate the relative stability in Somaliland region. Oodweyne, You must be waiting for the day Kenyans leave and Xaad & Xassan militia arrive in Kismaayo. It won't happen anytime soon. Jubbaland is by the people for the people. You may get used to it.

Xaaji: Them peace keeping forces may stay or go but thats up to IGAD and the point was Jubbaland is here to stay. The days of Muqdisho sending army to rule far away cities like Kismaayo, Gedo, Boosaaso or Laas Caano are over. Hassan thinks Muqdisho can decide for the people of those cities like Siyad Barre AUN did. He is in for a big disappointment.
