Two weeks ago, as the marketing manager of Zamalek Football Club was driving out of the club, he noticed a man standing outside and arguing with the security guards. So, out of curiosity perhaps, he stopped and asked what the matter was. They told him that the said man claims to be a player for the English team Portsmouth and that he wants to speak to the manager (the great Hossam Hassan). The marketing manager, on a hunch perhaps, decides to help and asks the security guys to let him in.

 

The player started to have his trials with Zamalek on the week starting 24th January (a day before the great demonstrations). The reports at the time were saying that he did not set the world alight and that he was, at best, average!

 

The player's name? No, not Kanu. He claims to be called Ahmed Yusuf and to have played for Porstmouth. Oh, he is also Somali. :D
