  2. morgan should be hiding hole some where like a rat not talking about somali peace process because he was and is part of somali problem. he actively took part horrific genocide in Hargasa, burio and so forth. i realy doubted very much his intentions coze if any somali government come to been he will be put in jail to rod so does he prepere his end?. so safe as his crab sxb. my question is what is got to do with him sool and sanaag issue? he said many times he is from kismayo didn't he.

Originally posted by Spadez: The reason you and I dissagree is not one based on ideology, say with Horn Afrique, Soyaal, and Che however misguided would like to see Somaliland as an integral part of the Union, because they believe in Pan-Somalia as a principle. With them, a debate can be had on principles and ideas. You can't debate with some one who sees things through tribal lines. are u ok sxb, where did i say somaliland should be part of pan somali or stay the union. maybe you have been reading wrong posts. i belief pan somali or somaliwayn only when people willingly come together and united for the porpose of facing the world in united way. and no circustanses did i suggest that somaliland forced back to the union. this is what i said in other thread so read before you have ago with me. the question is not who killed whom or the justification for somaliland's breakaway but its question of choice. i belief somalinimo or somaliwayn only where people want to leave by their choice not force or intidation. somaliland people say in a loud and clear THEY DON'T WANT TO BE PART OF UNITED SOMALIA so is it Abu Amar or likes who can say to them NO. if so would they listen to you sxb. 5. Innaa Lilahi Wa innaa ilayhi raajucuun Thanx MMA, people here need remainder to what happen to the city i lived and grew up. I lost some family members the early days of the civil war when Jess's gangs were shelling baydhabo city. Hassan Jama Does famine count as genocide? Then I suppose all natural disasters like floods, earthquakes and typhons can be labelled genocide. Please brother save us your anti-Somaliland sentiment and do not use the poor survivors of the 1990s famine in Badioa as a tool to try and belittle the tragedy that happened in 1988. Natural disasters and man-made genocide are completely two opposite things. it wasn't natural but it was man made genocide. the peope in bay and bakool were the most efficent groups in somalia. they eat what they grew unlike other parts of somalia where mostly relied food aid from out side the country. what happen was that the food reservers they kept in food banks or bakaaro for the rainy days where looted by both bare's tribe from Gedo and USC mafia headed by the mad general. on top of that they ethinically cleansed or atleast that was their intention so other tribes can resettle their land and take thier farms. what happened in somaliland was horrific to say the least and i support every attempt to put those responsible under the justice they long avoided e.g. morgan, gani, jess, samter and so forth. but what expected somalilanders was atleat the could say is not slands alone that suffered in somalia but other people i.e. reer bay and bakool.
  6. masha Allah first great new from this troubled lands. i belief if both sides of the arguement use every penny not for their armies but to build sool and sanaag then it will be the greatest success story ever in the horn of Africa.

Originally posted by ABU-AMMAR: Sooyaal, Its up to you if you have fallen for the secesionist line however Riyaale and his crew are misleading the people of the north west THEY where part of those who killed and maimed the people of the north west and yet southerners are blamed collectively. Riyaale and his group are using the dead victims of the war to further their own ends. This is what I am against. Somaliland has no right under any law to secede thats why it has not been recognised thus far. We will stress the facts yes there where victims in the north west under Siyad, yes there was clan baised under Siyad and even before but no it was not the "south" but the system in which the leaders some are dancing to took part in. So Sooyaal be consistent, if you like Somalinimo then you cant like the Somaliland phantom Republic. And not everyone in former British Somaliland are for secession, ask Professor's Samatar, ask Galayr ask Kallun as k Gallib or Buba ask the people in Las Ano and have a referendum with the UN present but hey little old Sooyaal knows better right? We will have our say trust me thats a promise Save Somali unity Abu amar or SNW the question is not who killed whom or the justification for somaliland's breakaway but its question of choice. i belief somalinimo or somaliwayn only where people want to leave by their choice not force or intidation. somaliland people say in a loud and clear THEY DON'T WANT TO BE PART OF UNITED SOMALIA so is it Abu Amar or likes who can say to them NO. if so would they listen to you sxb. 8. Rahima Personally I see no point in wasting so much effort on folks that say to you in bold writing, WE DO NOT WANT TO BE PART OF YOU. I mean, I sort of think it’s embarrassing, it’s like begging someone to be your friend when they keep pushing you away. They have voted and with that, we say good luck to our brothers. well said sister i can also add that no nation in the world can be hostage to another nation which doesn't want to deal its demons/warlords and doesn't want to move forward. the people in somaliland had chosen to be part of united somalia some 30 years ago before they decided again to leave it by their choice. if somalia stays the same way its now then we may see other parts of somalia forming as a new countries such as Puntland, South West etc. therefore those who call themselves nationalist should try to keep united -and try to move toward fair and equall somalia- what is left before they see somalia evaporating infront of their eyes.
  9. Col. C/llaahi Yuusuf Axmed oo madax ka ah maamul goboleedka Puntland, kana mid ah siyaasiyiinta ugu muhiimsan ee ka qeybgelaya shirka dib u heshiisiinta Soomaalida ayay warar aynu ka helnay ilo muhiim ah sheegayaan in uu ku talo jiro safar dhinaca caafimaadkiisa la xiriira oo uu maalmaha soo socda ku aadayo magaalada London ee dalka Ingiriiska. click here for full artical if anyone deserves demonstration against Abdulahi yusuf does. i more probably demonstrate against that dictator then reyale who atleast came to power not through violance but through constitutional arrangement. while reyale is fighting to get his country an international recognition abdilahi is fighting tooth and nail to distroy the only hope remaining for somali people to set up all inclusive governemnt in kenya.
  10. guraad you're using same logic that somalilanders every time use. because southerns killed notherns they have to leave the union. now you are setting same arguement for puntland so should they leave the union as well. bro all somali people in somalia suffered either under the dictatorship or the civil war. the problems are the same and the solution must be same. Just, fair and all inclusive somalia.
  11. there are lots of truth in the artical and touches the heart of the somali problems. A half-century’s mistrust and mismanagement is hard to overcome. very true and its what is undermining all peace talks But Somalis do share a Somali national identity and sense of belonging that can override the differences between them. the jury is out for this statement but i wont hold my breath.
  12. i'm not surprised by this artical at all. the people who are in kenya right now are very similar or worse then abdi. my brother just come from kenya for business visit here and i asked enthusiastically about the peace talk in kenya. the discription he gave me is very similar to what telegaraph man discoverd. the people who are in the peace talk especially so called deligates are human waste they do anything for a few dolars. instead of insulting and blaming the auther why don't you go and see who these people are. what hell are they doing in kenya for 15 months.
  13. C)He retires from politics this is the best that could happen to somalia and its future. i keep praying he takes this choice.
  14. tell me you joking! are we seeing disfunctioning admistration where its president and his vice pres decide independently from each other. i wonder who is running puntland at the moment. vice pres mr Hashi said in an interview: Asked if there was any truth in the claim by members of his cabinet that indeed it was the Vice President, who proposed the extension, Mr Hashi responded “Ministers are appointed by the President and the Vice President, and while we might differ on technicalities, we share patent objectives, goal congruence, and what is in the best interest of the people of Puntland. And in accordance with the State law, prevailing conditions necessitated that a group of ministers had to travel to Bosaso, [Puntland commercial city] on official government duty, therefore a quorum could not be secured to convene and debate over these issues. And as such, the Parliament which had been convening at the time requested our opinion on the matter; hence the Vice President expressed his opinion on the matter having consulted ministers, and there hardly was anything to dispute” click here for full artical

  16. Innaa Lilaahi Wa-inaa Ilayhi Raajicuun my heart goes to the family of murdered somali boy. Schoolboy, 12, arrested over death A 12-year old boy has been arrested in connection with the death of a Somali boy at a Glasgow school. The 11-year-old pupil died at Stobhill Hospital following an incident at All Saints Secondary School on Tuesday. The boy, from a refugee family from Somalia, had lived in the city for three-and-a-half years. A spokesman for Glasgow Council said the first year pupil was taken to hospital after collapsing in the dining area during the mid-morning break. A report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal. It is understood that the 12-year-old boy will appear in court on Wednesday morning. click here for link

  18. Somali's Coca-Cola venture either 'crazy or very smart' February 23, 2004 By Reuters Nairobi - Defying his broken country's many pessimists, a Somali businessman, AbdiRisak Isse, unveiled plans on Friday to bottle Coca-Cola in chaotic Mogadishu, a city with no police, no insurance and only gun law. The plant is built and the machinery ready to start up late this month or early March, in an eye-catching display of nerve in a capital of 1 million people roamed by an estimated 60 000 gunmen with rifles, truck-mounted machine guns and grenade launchers. Isse said he was relying on the self-interest of the clan system to protect the plant, by drawing in partners from as wide a range of communities as possible 'I advise the Somalis abroad to do something useful for this desperate country' . "People think I'm either crazy, ambitious or very smart," Isse, the chairman of Somalia's United Bottling Company, said in an interview from the shell-cratered city. "But I know when to take a chance. If I didn't do it now, someone else will." The country has had no government since the 1991 overthrow of military ruler Mohammed Siad Barre. Militia feuding and famine have killed hundreds of thousands. Somalia is so damaged that it is largely absent from UN development rankings. In many areas it is too dangerous for researchers to gather data on nutrition, education and health. But Isse's venture in north Mogadishu's Towfiiq district is the latest evidence of renewed interest from the Somali diaspora in the capital's resurgent business and professional community. The businessman, who holds a Swedish passport, returned from Sweden five years ago to try making money in his homeland. He has joined forces with other Somali investors to finance and build the 12 000m2. The business will revive a commercial link between the Horn of Africa country and the global brand that was cut when civil war engulfed the once-elegant capital. The site will employ just 125 employees to fill about 30 000 bottles an hour, but Isse reckons it will lead to the creation of 5 000 small kiosk businesses. "It means employment for the people and it is joblessness that creates insecurity, so I don't feel a threat from Somali society." The past three years have seen a return of middle-aged Somali professionals who spent their early careers overseas but now want to risk coming home, sensing the worst is over and a time to take opportunities. Isse is not worried that there is no government or police to call on if thirsty militia men loot the site, or that, in common with many Somali firms, conventional insurance cover has been impossible to find. "I want other Somalis to also come back and invest in their country," said Isse. "We trust the people will protect our business." Nor is he worried by latent anti-Americanism in a city where a UN force in which the US military had a major role killed thousands of Somalis in the early 1990s. "My message to the Somalis is first of all that this business belongs to you. And second, to the Somalis abroad, I advise them to do something useful for this desperate country." Maina Kariuki, Coca-Cola East Africa director for public affairs, confirmed that Isse's venture would be bottling the US-based multinational's soft drink on a franchise basis. click here for link
  19. Nasir so all i am saying is that we might share our little influence that we have about peace making sxb i don't mean to discourage you to do any good deeds. to me you don't need recognition to do just that. ordinary people in somalia gave you recognition and value your expertise. so why somaliland just invite some of those influatial people from the south and share with them any valuabe lessons from somalilands experience in peace making. iam sure most people in somalia will show their gratitude to you.
  20. The Somali Region of Ethiopia in Evolution As for the present time, although the region is one of the most underdeveloped in Ethiopia and has dismal human rights records, it is the first time in Ethiopia 's history that the Somali people in the region get involve in elections, politics and parliamentary discussions. No one can deny this fact unless one is blindfolded. Of course, the fairness of these elections is another debatable matter. During Haile Salaise and Mengistu times, neither elections nor Somali elected representatives were known in the region. Now, there are hundreds and hundreds of Somali representatives who are part of the country's system. They are elected to represent their respective communities and help improve the conditions of their people; however, many of them are indifferent to the needs of their towns and communities. The region's representatives stay in Jigjiga, the region's capital, throughout the year, and they seem disinclined to return to their towns so as to serve their electorate. This phenomenon might remind one of Somalia 's situation, before the disintegration, where everybody wanted to live in Mogadishu. click here for full artical

Now they run string of schools, institutes and the largest university in Mogadisho. this university even offers PHD for the fist time in somali history. The subjects they offer include Islamic studies and medical subjects and trainings for nurses. In the name of Allah, do you call these people heroes or to use your words 'full of shit..? Foriegn educated somalis include doctors, nurses, teachers, ullama or Islamic schoolers etc. sxb you have to make clear where you stand, are you with the warlords who tried everything in their disposal to stop what those heroes are doing or with those heroes who sacrified everything to help our people?
  22. i'm not somalilander and i'm sure i cant vote in real elections in somaliland but as a mock election i just did voted for Omar Arte bcause he was best foreign minister for the old somalia. now i beleif as a president he can secure long waited recognition for his people and win more friends for his country.
  23. Yasmine - 25 different armed groups (in constant competition) sis a year ago the peace talks started with 24 warlords and now they are 39 warlords and still the list is growing. you have every reason to be pessimist but don't forget Allah's power is there and it may intervene when all hopes fail. I think warlordism in somalia peaked and now its in dicline. One reason is that the civil society is growing and maturing. so i think its cause for optimism and hope of brighter future. as once singub said "dilaa in uu xukumo maya maya!".
  24. Nasir no one else can bring peace to muqdisho other than somalilanders looooooooooool@you i think you are in illiusions (or as you're people may call it 'gudcur ayaad gudeysaa') if you think somalilanders can bring peace to south. Sxb what makes you think that? isn't peace what reer sool needs even thansands of your army can't guarantee peace in sool. Don't be sxb dacwadii inta ay hooskeeda aragtey moodey in ay libaax iska caabinkarto oo hal dharbaaxo ku dhacday la dhimatey. the somaliland recognition may be good for somalilanders but nothing in it for southerns. so bro don't over sell your country's abilities and capabilities.
