  1. General Duke will probably tell us this was done to root out UIC insurgents- anyone else notice how his phrases are the same as the once used by the american army in Iraq
  2. Che, If you mean you can see them being in Puntland then i agree, but there is no chance of them walking on soil controlled by Somaliland. The only invitation they have to tresspass and at the same time destroy somali cities is from abdulahi yusuf and the etho's know they cant enter Somaliland on his invitation. plus they know what we did with a military junta like theirs before
  3. Xiin, this thread blew before i got a chance to answer your question but i will still answer it now. Warancade, I gather you concede fact#1. There are significant regions in former British Somaliland whose consent you have not secured. In fact there are considerable portion of them whose desires to stay with the union is quite problematic for your agenda. Now fact#2 and fact#3 are tied adeer. if you disagree those three facts have effectively halted your secessionist wheels, would you be a good chap and enlighten us all what is it that’s stopping you to secede? You have got your own facts messed sxb, I disagreed with points 1 and 3 and only said that point 2 has substance in International law. yes it is true that since we have entered into an act of union we need a consensual annulment of the act of union. But the international community can put pressure on Somalia to consent to the annulment the act of union if it wished to fully recoqnise Somaliland as an indepent state. so in practice there is nothing sigfincant stopping UN nations from recoqnising Somaliland if they wanted and this issue isnt as significant as some make it out to be although it does have some substance. The main things that is stopping Somaliland from getting international recognition is a combination of few tricky areas in in international relations. firstly most countries and international entities are weary of being the first to recoqnise Somaliland in the fear of setting a precedent that nobody follows. This is linked to the point that most nations feel they haven't got much to gain from from granting Somaliland its independence. they feel it would cause more tension in the area then it would do good which is unfounded but arises from the fact of them not having enough knowledge of the area, which if they did would show them that in fact granting Somaliland would solve a lot of tension rather then cause more. Of course there are many other reasons and most nations have their own view on the situation but i would say that in due time it will change once the awareness of the situation grows in significance. Until then we weill keep building and redevolping our nation whilst mainting a peaceful and prospering state.
  4. yes when you can't answer them discredit them [uNQUOTE] -ME- You still havent answered my question so why dont you do that before you start asking other questions-

  12. Fact#1: only some , and not all, of the former British Somaliland’s community drive this independence push. Fact#2: The legal strength of the act of Union: one part alone can’t abolish it without the full consent of the other. Fact#3: The regional concerns of opening a Pandora’s box; the same colonial legacy on which your project hinges left deep scars on this continent, and regional and international bodies are for ever cautious about revisiting Africa’s shaky political boundaries Xiin Of the above three points you make only one is a fact that other two are arguements and are your personal opinions. First of all it was confirmed in the internationally approved referendum of 2001 that the large majority of the population of Somaliland want an independent Republic of Somaliland. this you cannot dispute unless you have evidence to suggest the contrary. Your third point is totally irrelavant and so far-fetched from the topic that it doesnt bear any light on this issue. The issue of borders would certainly not be one to stand in the way of International bodies and nations to grant Somaliland its legitimate independence. These borders were recoqnised before Somaliland joined in the union with Somalia. They are the original borders of Somaliland and therefore dont intervene with the AU's conventions on border changes.
  13. Why you surprised. this kind of thing has been happening for a while and will continue to happen as long as the useless TFG is in power.
  14. Mr Me I am still awaiting the Evidence and so is Mj Bada Cas btw

  16. Izzard is a serial cross dresser and therefore i cant watch him, But Peter kay is the man. Phoenix nights is Hilarious. He also kills in Max and Paddy's road to nowhere For me Omid Djallili is the best stand up in the UK man. went to see him in the NEC in Birmingham and i swear i was laughing for days afterwards as the jokes kept coming back into my head.
  17. -ME- On the first part i will let you get home safely now , and i await your answer in due time. On the second part, i think you need to understand what sovereignty means my dear friend. Sovereignty refers to the ability of a people govern themselves and to control the state of affairs in their country. Somaliland has been having this for the last 16years in which their Sovereignty has been strengthened. Yes, the recoqnised independece that we Somalilander seek, has not yet been given to Somaliland but that doesnt impede in any part on the sovereignty of the Somaliland people and state
  18. Yeah, what happened to that dude you were raving on about GD? Has the seasonal cull of Cabdulahi Yusuf got to him as well?
  19. Bada Cas You made the right point here and that is that sadly enough gabiil still dominates Somalia and it is the reason people in parts of Sool and Sanaaq wish to use to support puntland, but that is a a matter of their choice and should be left up to them.
  20. -ME- you didnt answer the question that i asked you in this thread- http://www.somaliaonline.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=9;t=010432 Coming back to this topic you can dispute it all you like but Somalilands sovereign boundaries are as seen here- http://www.somalilandgov.com/images/map.gif
  21. Oh, think nothing of it bro, we are all sometimes mistaken.
  22. lol -ME- bro, Unlike you i will answer your question. In principal, a Somalilander is someone who hails from or resides in the Sovereign territory of Somaliland. It is difficult to define which nationality anyone belongs to these days. i mean can you tell me who is british and who is not. i bet your answer wont be the same as the typical pakistani who lives in britain and claims to be british.
