These attacks throughout early hours of Tuesday 20th February which saw distributed shelling of artillery and heavy machine-gun fire in different areas in Mogadishu by the Ethiopian troops and the new warlords in Mogadishu the leaders of the TFG (Transitional Federal Government) are a criminal and inherently inhuman. We stand by the victims in grief and sadness over the unjustified and utterly cold-blooded tragedy they had to face under this unlawful occupation of the country by the Ethiopian force and their puppet TFG warlords. The capital of Somalia, Mogadishu, had witnessed multiple show of aggression and oppression since the arrival of the unpopular TFG equipped with Ethiopian force. The people of Mogadishu had continuously observed, witnessed and suffered from nights of attack from the Ethiopian force and the daily removal of democratic process and power of TFI institutions from the leaders of the TFG who had used this opportunity in Mogadishu to revert back the country to the state of warlordism. The Ethiopian government and their puppet TFG warlords have used the blanket of anti terrorism to silence opposition and shut down all form of democratic and freedom of expression rights, in result the leaders of the TFG and the Ethiopian force in Mogadishu committed acts of terrorism against the people of Mogadishu, Baidoa and all areas in Somalia which come under their command, we the New SYL like many other organizations in Mogadishu do not want to see Mogadishu and Somalia to be a safe haven for terrorism, however the actions of Ethiopian force in Mogadishu and the TFG warlords are nothing but encouragements to terrorist who capitalize from the vulnerability of the people, these acts leave people no alternative but to resist these unlawful regimes of warlords and dictators from neighboring countries. These acts will also plant the seeds of future conflicts among the peaceful border sharing nations in East Africa, and the actions of the Ethiopian force and the TFG warlords is distant from the intentions and policy of the international Somali contact group. The Ethiopian leadership and their allied TFG leaders lost the opportunity to amend and improve relationship of both countries instead they have impaired and exacerbated the relation of both countries by implanting a new seeds of conflict and hate by being nothing more than an occupation force allied with warlords who have a policy of newly ethnic cleansing in Mogadishu. We appeal to all international human rights organization to investigate these criminal acts, and we also call for the UN to place International sanctions against all support to the TFG who have done nothing more then to hinder the present and future prospect of peace and development in the country and restored a policy of ethnic cleansing towards the people of Mogadishu.
