Terrorist groups like al-Qaeda and al-Shabab do not think African life is valuable, President Obama has said in response to the Uganda bombings. At least 74 people were killed in blasts targeting people watching the World Cup. The Somali Islamist group al-Shabab said it was behind the attacks because Uganda supports Somalia's government. An US administration official said al-Qaeda was racist and used black Africans as "cannon fodder". bbc

Dadaab Refugee Camp: I have never seen horrible killing like this

NAIROBI, (IRIN) - Tension is high between Somali and Sudanese refugees in Dadaab refugee camp, northern Kenya, after the killing of a Somali boy on the night of 13 July. The killing sparked riots in the camp after the body was found near structures occupied by Sudanese refugees, with reports that some shelters were burnt down. The Kenyan police and officials of the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) were in the camp and tried to calm things down. IRIN spoke on the telephone with Halima Ali Durgube, a Somali refugee who was the boy's guardian: "Abdullahi Mahmud Osman was 13. He was staying with my family although I am his second aunt. "Abdullahi arrived from Somalia recently. He was with us for only four days. Today would have been his fifth day and he is dead. "His father is dead and his mother is a pastoralist in Harardhere [near Mogadishu] where he was before going to Mogadishu and finally coming to Dadaab. "I last saw Abdullahi at around 8pm last night as he left home. He told me: 'Aunt, I am going to pray at the mosque... I will come back soon.' These were his last words to me as I opened the door for him to go out. "He did not come back soon and I eventually fell asleep; it was about 3am when I first noticed that Abdullahi had not returned. In the morning when I woke up, I heard people shouting, saying the body of a boy had been found lying somewhere in the camp. I rushed to the scene to find out what was happening. "I was shocked to recognize the body as that of Abdullahi; he had been slaughtered and his liver and kidneys taken. His hands were also damaged and his stomach was taken out of him... "I uncovered his face, which had been covered with a piece of cloth, and examined the body from head to toe. "The body was lying near the Sudanese camp residence. "Can you imagine how horrible I feel? I believe this was a deliberate plot by evil minds. I don’t think he was killed by other youths; youth cannot eat liver and kidneys. I believe these organs were taken by people who eat flesh. "The police have taken Abdullahi's body; we don’t know where it is as I have not received any information from them yet. "I have never seen horrible killing like this... I haven’t communicated with UNHCR officials because riots broke out between Somalis and Sudanese as soon as the body was found. I went back home to ensure the safety of my children. "At the moment, I don't have anything to say. Everybody can see this is a catastrophe. Everyone can see what has happened to us. "We trust God will relieve us from the grievance we face." Hiiraan

It depends on the number people in the family and the location as far as Kenya is concerned. Somalia is relatively cheap. On average, single person can live off $100-150.

Twin blasts in Uganda capital Kampala 'kill 23 people'

^It's unfortunate development if it's proved they actually carried out this attack. Amistad...One would think you would learn from 20 yrs of foriegn intervention. There's no such thing called constructive engagement. Things will only get worse. -
Duke has always been consistent in his support for Yeey and the reasoning behind that support.People condemned and even insulted him. Now those very people are supporting Sharif who is indulging in the very things Yeey was known for. And whether you support Yeey or not, Yeey was also consistent but Sharif is hypocrite who declared war on Zenawi only to sit with him later looking all submissive. Sharif then and now

Uganda was warned repeatedly to leave Somalia and stop their discriminate bombardment of suuq Bakaaraha, suuq bacaad, and other neighborhoods. They were told what repercussions will be should they continue being mercenaries in Xamar. Nin kuu digey kuma dilin! On the larger geopolitical arena, this was bad move on the part of Al-Shabaab.

Maaddeey....If it turns Al-Shabaab did this. It's bad for all of us.There's really no need to do this considering the West and their minions were beginning to talk about disengaging from ineffective TFG. Not everything can be solved with bullets. Sometimes you need to play savvy politics. -

This will be serious political miscalculation if Al-Shabaab is implicated. They are already being blamed though there's no concrete evidence of their involvement. -
Someone text the announcement to my freind last night. When she told me Duad is no longer "running" the place. The first thing I said was ma ladiley. I was disappointed to hear otherwise.

Uganda bombings kill 64 watching World Cup Group tied to al-Qaida is suspected by police; 1 American among dead KAMPALA, Uganda — Bombs exploded at two sites in Uganda's capital late Sunday as people watched the World Cup final on TV, killing 64 people. One American was killed and at least three others — part of a church group from Pennsylvania — were among the wounded. Police Chief Kale Kaihura said he believed that Somalia's most feared militia — al-Shabab, which has pledged loyalty to al-Qaida — could be behind the attacks. One of the bombs went off at an Ethiopian restaurant in Kampala, Uganda's capital. Al-Shabab views Ethiopia as an enemy. The second blast went off at a restaurant called the Kyadondo Rugby Club. Kaihura said 14 people were killed at the restaurant, and that he believed the toll at the Rugby Club was far higher than 14, though he did not have an exact number. At the scenes of the two blasts chairs were overturned. Blood and pieces of flesh littered the floor. Among the wounded was Kris Sledge, 18, who said a group of six Americans had been watching the World Cup at the Ethiopian restaurant. Sledge, of Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania, had been part of a church group in the country for three weeks. They were supposed to leave Uganda on Tuesday. Three Americans in his group were wounded. For all we know, it's the Lord Resistance Army! Xaaji.....Al-Shabaab never targeted any foe outside Somalia and don't attend to. -
Cawaale....I haven't posted any video or condone child-abuse but the behavior you are refering to happens everywhere from Catholic churches to mosques. But if you are accusing of Talibs of such abomination,I need to inform one fact that's "dancing boys" is mostly tradition in non-Pashtun areas of Afghanistan. Talibans have made an effort to stop this awful tradition much like they stopped the opium trade. But that's not to say young children in talib madrasas don't face abuse. Jacpher...Do you have any realistic alternative?

KAMPALA, Uganda — Bombs exploded at two sites in Uganda's capital late Sunday as people watched the World Cup final on TV, and officials at the scene put the death toll at more than 20 and said it could rise further. Police Chief Kale Kaihura said he believed that Somalia's most feared militia – al-Shabab, which has pledged loyalty to al-Qaida – could be behind the attacks. One of the bombs went off at an Ethiopian restaurant in Kampala, Uganda's capital. Al-Shabab views Ethiopia as an enemy. The second blast went off at a restaurant called the Kyadondo Rugby Club. A police officer at the scene of the blasts said he believed more than 20 people had been killed. He said he could not be named, and Kaihura declined to confirm a death toll. An AP reporter at the two scenes estimated that the toll would be more than 20. At the scenes of the two blasts chairs were overturned. Blood and pieces of flesh littered the floor. Huff -
At least 23 people have been killed in twin explosions in the Ugandan capital Kampala, police said. It is not known what caused the blasts, which police said went off at a rugby club and at a restaurant, as football fans watched the World Cup final. "These bombs were definitely targeting World Cup crowds," Inspector General of Police Kal Kayihura told AFP. Somali militants have in the past threatened to attack Kampala; Ugandan troops are deployed in Mogadishu. Mr Kayihura told AP news agency he believed Somalia's militant group al-Shabab could be behind the attack. "The information we have indicates 13 people have died here at the Ethiopian Village [restaurant] and many others are injured and more than 10 people are reported to have died at the rugby club," Mr Kayihura told Reuters news agency at the scene of one blast. About 5,000 African Union troops from Uganda and Burundi are based in the Somali capital Mogadishu to protect the fragile interim government. The Amisom force is engaged in frequent firefights with Islamist insurgents which control much of southern and central Somalia.

Maddeey...I support Al-Shabaab laakiin khurafaadka jecleen.Who in the world shows for their execution..? When I think of scenarios, I say what would Che do? And there's no way Che would be admit to spying when his throat will be slit or no Che will admit to adultery when his head will be crushed with stones-I doubt you will admit to such things considering the severity of the punishment. And don't me you will P.S. You know it could have been Al-Shabaab spy that kill the guy Jacpher....Al-Shabaab is not ideal outfit but what better options are there? Habo...I have your back hadow Maddeey kuula yimaado I know Xamar more than you
