They are demanding the release of their colleagues arrested recently by the Somaliland security forces,” Abdullahi Mohamed, a security official in Galkayo, said by phone. Maybe their colleagues are the ones that were sentenced in that unjust 1 week trial that happened in NW Somalia last week! Who know's?It's sad if it is true, violence breeds violence. Well, this is not about the pirates making demands. It is about the Pirateland Administration which has failed its duty. The criminals where ever they are would do the same. But its the administration which claims to have control over where the criminals operate, that will be judged on what they do about it. Will the Pirateland Administration tell the UN that they need the convicted Pirates which are sentenced in SL to be freed before the SL truckers get their release? That would be very interesting...
  2. Gen Duke, A tit for tat reaction is one of the many methods that can be employed to try and solve these kind of problems... I am not threating anyone with the UN but just making the obvious. The truckers were employed by the UN and its them to get them back safely.
  3. Gen. Duke, If these truckers that were kidnapped were just indivitual businessmen on their own, then the situation would have been much different. Their ordeal would been tried to be solved using traditional methods. But no, these truckers are not indivituals on indivitual business trip taking the risk themselves. The UN is involved and contracted these truckers to move UN goods from one place to another and organised their travel documents and what have you. Now, it is the UN to bring them back safely. As for the red mark... well if the Pirateland administration used to claim that it can not do anything about the Pirates because they are located in far away places... now the same criminals are doing the same crimes on the roads and inside Puntland urban centers. Hence, the Pirates and other criminal gangs are winning control over the land. What that means is for everybody's take.
  4. ^It is not about whether the pirate-turned-carjackers-turned-kidnapers, are wrong. That is just obvious to any sane person. The issue is, whether or not the Pirateland administration can guarantee the safety of those travelling inside its territory. The answer to that is No! Because as happened, members of the Pirateland security themselves are double agents. In fact the security melitia get most of their wages from criminal activities such as these kidnapping which took place in Galkacayo. As for the Somaliland born truckers and their trucks, they had UN-WFP papers to travel and its the UN to pressure the Pirateland Administration for their release. Any harm caused by the pirates or any lost of profits due to their imprisonment by the organised-criminal group, is on the UN to pay back. So at the end of the day, the truckers will not lost much. But its the Pirateland administration which will get another RED MARK on its name as it has proved once again that it can not take care of the safety of those who use its roads.
  5. Already a wealthy Maydh-man from London has promised to contribute as much as 30% of the project finances. Now the onus is on the diaspora as well as the government and other business people to collect the reminding 70%.

  7. Ma waagii cirka loo kaaji jiray kibir owgeed ayaa la gaadhay? ONLF waa urur qabiil, hadii dagaal qabiili ah soo qaado waa looga hortagayaa sidii waligeed looga hor tagi jiray qabiil kale oo dagaal soo qaada.
  8. This kind of news is "he said - she said". If Ileys says Bishaaro was caught inside Kilil5, then it is time to contain the anti-SL venom or at least channel some the anger at Jigjiga Warkaas ayaa sax ah. Laakin A&T and Co giraanta dhinacay dooonaan ha u eryaan.
  9. This was a huge welcome by any measure. Watch the footage here Video
  10. ^Waa maamul fidin, yaa Libaax - la soco . Xuduud iyo business labaduba waa furanyihiin ogsoonow awoowe.

It doesn't make sense for truckers to get stuck in a village between Garoowe and Laascaanood. Imagine if the truckers require Shaah, how many Maqaaxi does Tukaraq has that can supply 70 drivers and perhaps many of their support crew? It makes sense to be near a major town such as Laascaanood where they can get their supplies until Garoowe allows to open its end of the road.
  12. Interesting development. So now Pirate boys are refusing humanitarian food to go through. What could their reasoning be?

As we speak, SL bigwigs such as Deputy Parliament Chairman Mr. Baashe and Odey Xaabsade are present in HolHol to stamp their authority and deliver a special message from the President. Anyway, Puntland's hand in this latest SL offensive can not be belittled, as is stipulated by this latest meeting between SL military and PL minister.
  14. Very unfortunate. The police recovered the bomb which was placed near the central mosque by anti-peace terrorists but it exploded as soon as it was brought back to the central station. All the victims are local people. Ilaahay ha u naxariisto dhamaan, intii ku dhaawacantayna we wish them a very quick recovery. Amiin.
  15. While Somaliland flexes its muscles, its all quiet on the Pirateland front.
  16. The whole point of going to HolHol of all places was to have a meeting without the presence of Somaliland or Puntland. With Somaliland officials there now, it defeats the purpose. So why not just go back to Garoowe and hold it under the Faroole administration that has refused to help them.

  19. LOl @ Cadde Muuse's speech. Kulaha "Faroole xoreynmaayo, puntland xoreynmayso, ee idinku xoreysta" Garaad Jaamac laf cad ayuu toobin ku hayaa. Arin siyaasi ah ayuu si dhaqan is leeyahay ku xali. Waa cudurka Fardaha ku dhaca hadii laga gubo dameer dawadiisa lama gaadhayo.
  20. It is not about free competition here. It is basic business. Aljaabiri Company invested millions into the Berbera animal Quarintine Center. They brought doctors and arranged relevant work with relevant organisation to be certified as an International standard Quarintine. They basically did most of the work. Part of the initial agreement with the SL government was that Aljaabiri would recoupe their millions by not being charged for their use of the center for the first 5 years. Indho-deero and Co could have been in the same position as Aljaabiri's if they invested in the Center themselves in the first place. But they didn't. So for them to take a parallel path to the established one, is just wrong. There is law and order in the country and they need to follow the same path and not take their own.
  21. I think these video scenarios are based on this document GLOBAL STRATEGIC ASSESSMENT 2009 Also, the creation of Somalia in 1960 was a voluntary union between two already independent states (the former British Somaliland and former Italian Somaliland), and therefore outside the OAU/AU stricture, which means that when the former British Somaliland withdrew in 1991 from the Somalia union, following the collapse of the Siad Barre administration, Somaliland’s legal sovereignty was theoretically intact, although no AU states have yet formally recognized Somaliland’s sovereignty
  22. Very good song. Somalidii hoos ayay uga sii dhaceen halka uu Xassan Adan ka hadlaayo ee Qaranimo iyo Nationhood iyo waxaa... imika waa magacii Soomaaliyeed ayaa loo yaaba inuu meeshaba ka baxo, magac xumo owgeed. Now Somali name is synonymous with everything that is bad. What comes to mind when someone mentions Somali are words such as "Pirates", "Refugees", "Terrorists", "Killing", "Fighting", "Corruption", "hate"... you name it. Xabaalihii dalkeena iyo ragga lafaha soo faqay Dadnimodii ka baxnoo dugaag baynu noqanee Magaceenan daadaagay miyaydaan u naxayn?
